He looked the same in preseason which was only a few weeks after so I don't know...

Thing is, looking at his photos on getty, he doesn't look that bad (scroll down to the ones of him v Burton) but seeing him on the TV etc, he does.

That face though... not once during preseason did it look like that.

It's crazy how heavy he looked in the last U23s game. Isn't black supposed to be slimming?!

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Logically, if a player has had only 10 good games for his club, in 4 years, he needs to be let go and for the sake of his own career, I think he needs to look for a new club.
To be fair, so far it's only been three and a bit seasons. Almost one full season of that was written off because of terrible injury, and after that kind of thing it will often take another season to get himself right (both mentally and physically as often it will be followed by other smaller injuries).

Obviously things aren't going well for Shaw, but there is still some small hope he can turn it around for himself here. I would give him until the end of this season before putting a line through this one. In saying that, unless he bursts into life over the next couple of months I would still like us look into signing a leftback in January if any are available that Jose likes. If not, then certainly at the end of the season.

Camera adds 10lbs tho remember:lol:

It is totally weird tho. I get he just has one of those physiques where he is always going to look kinda clunky. Just natural muscly kinda guy. But sometimes you see pictures of him and you’re like damn kid is ripped. Then you’ll see him and he looks like he had a good old binge.

I don’t buy in to this he needs to be 3% body fat rubbish bu at times e certanlymlook like Sweinsteigers long lost twin brother.

Looking over my shoulder.
I'm actually a little wary about shitting on the guy too much because I'm starting to worry that it will come out at some point that he's struggling with his mental health. That would certainly explain why he finds it so hard to motivate himself.
That's a very good point. Mental health is a big issue everywhere these days, so why shouldn't it be with footballers? Students struggle with pressure from peers, parents and above all themselves. Shaw has all of England that puts pressure on him, playing for United doesn't help, and then I'm pretty sure he puts a lot of pressure on himself as well. Maybe he just can't handle it, and when truth be told, it's a pretty big ask. Therefore, being the most technically gifted or whatever is not necessarily what will get you to the highest level. Having the mindset is at least as important. Shaw has the skills and attributes necessary.

Could see them snapping up that fulham wonder kid to replace Rose. Spurs really know how to find the talent
Yeah, I remember how pissed off I was about us not getting Haw's predecessor from Southampton before Tottenham snapped him up for £16M. Seems most of their left-backs end up becoming sicknotes where they end up though.

If he's not starting in a game this unimportant then he has no chance under Mou.

I guess the contract extension was purely for resale.

If he has zero chance, I guess mourinho knew this in the summer. Why not buy a specialist left back instead of centre back.

He'll be sold asap.
Can't even get a league cup game... Kinda sad, I had high hopes for him.

Maybe his old club (soton) or old manager (poch) is willing to take a punt on him. Would be a good move for him

So I guess the left back we overpaid for because we were supposedly going to use him for a decade is being sold off soon. Will this be as big a mistake as Mourinho selling youngsters such as Lukaku and De Bruyne?

It does seem his numbers up.

Either way, our LB situation needs to be sorted. The sooner, the better.

What an underwhelming end to his career, was buzzing when he first joined us. He's just gotten worse and worse over time here

What's the point in giving him 5 minutes? If he's fit enough to play why not bring him on when we're 2-0 up?
