Don't get how he was ranked the best (arguably, that wasn't too hard), when he was at fault for the goal, gave the ball away for the second, lost to Sterling for the header and let his man behind countless times, only for Maguire to bail him out

His set pieces are fantastic, didn't think it would be. He's good running with the ball too, he drives forward like we expected him when he first joined

At fault for letting stones get in front. Was weird that he was marking stones though. I think that's poor assignment unless it's because it's his 'zone'

If that's the case we need to stop that as we concede to many

The Low Expectations FC is at it again with some weird praising. He's not good enough. Lazy in defense and doesn't produce going forward. He's a good footballer but not a good full-back.

So Luke Shaw averages the 4th highest amount of successful dribbles (beat a player, not running the ball into space) of fullbacks playing a normal fullback role in the premier league this season and have played 10 or more matches (regular starters) after Walker-Peters at Southampton, Walker and Cancelo at City. He also has the 4th best success rate at 68.2% of his attempted dribbles being successful.

This discounts players who play wingback/midfield in man defences, or 4 men across the width of midfield like Lamptey, Robinson from Fulham, Albrighton, Saka who have a lot less defensive responisibility in their roles with 3 CBs behind them.

Nelson Semedo has played 8 games right back and 6 wingback. He has more than Shaw as well but thats almost half his games as a wingback while Shaw has 0

Musuaku at West Ham averages more but has played just under the 10 match threshold at 9.4 x 90 mins

Just thought it was interesting when people talk about our fullbacks not attacking enough, but Shaw isnt far off the most attacking fullbacks when it comes to how often he beats a man and progresses a move.

Plenty of teams are playing with wingbacks or wide midfielders who play further up the pitch and run the ball more but dont have to help in defence.

His final ball needs to seriously improve but otherwise he is decent going forward. Having a good season. The competition from Telles seems to help him

First reaction from the game, what a brave header at the end against Ben fecking Mee to save the game. Bravo Luke, bravo.

In the past he'd use his shoulder to protect himself from injury and let Mee have a free header. Brave header.

Bit of an unsung hero at the moment for me. Hardly gives anything away and the header at the end was brilliant.

so far I've been very pleased with him this season....one of the most consistent performers (if not the most) on the team....keep up the good work Luke

Sublime player, tremendous performance in spite of some of the worst officiating ever seen. What a ball it was for Maguire's incorrectly disallowed goal. I was also slightly annoyed with how often teammates chose to ignore his overlaps, he was always in so much space.

Had his Bailly moment of brilliance, almost head concussion. Can't go wrong with that kind of Shaw.

He's becoming a Denis Irwin, in that he consistently gives 7-8 out of 10 in matches. Gets way too little praise. Mad to think some people wanted (want?) Telles in over him.

He's our best full back. I only wish he would improve his last ball because he gets in some really nice positions

He was brilliant and should've had a assist if it wasn't for a bad first touch from Rashford. After Pogba I'd say Shaw was our best player closely followed by Bailly.

If I’m being honest I think he’s absolutely brilliant.

He's very unlucky with assists.

This season he should've had by now easily 7 or 8 assists.

This is really the left back we paid 30m for back in 2014. It's late but who cares, he's finally fulfilling his potential.

I can’t recall another player who reached the age of 25 and suddenly decided to cross like he is right now. 0-100.

Defensively great, as per.

feck England, let that silly cnut Southgate pick TAA and Chilwell and we will get murdered against top class competition.
Im English. Love Shaw. Don’t think he’s made for tournament football though. Being a selfish United fan, don’t give a shit about him playing for England. As an Englishman, we are actually very blessed with both full back positions.

I'm English, he's better than Chillwell.
I agree. But that’s not the whole story. He’s not a player who can play game after game after game. You pick Shaw for England, you need another specialised left back at a tournament.

More often than not you want an auxiliary defender to cover at the back so you can have more midfielders/ strikers.

Honestly one of our most consistent players now. Still think he can go up a gear but that’s only because I rate him very very highly.

I think he’s playing with a confidence (in terms of chasing 50-50s, going into full sprints etc.) in a way I don’t think we’ve really seen since he got that major injury. Long may it continue.
