Across the second half of the season you’ve been trying to trump City up as one of the great sides.Which 5 are better? I often find that things get better with age where football memory is concerned. In 10 years time if this season leaves City with the highest goals scored, and highest points ever in PL history, they’ll be cited as one of the best sides ever in PL history (certainly top 5). Yet nothing will have changed other than the passing of time.
Curious to know how you’re feeling about it now.
Bottled it against Liverpool in first leg of the Champions League QF, barely laying a glove on them. And as funny as it would be if you turned it around, it’s not happening. A great side should at least be competitive in Europe no, especially against a side 20 points behind them in the league?
Bottled it at home for a moment of history to win the league in a derby. In the process losing an unbeaten home record which quite a few league winners have acheived. Full unbeaten record has obviously been off the cards since your first humiliation at Anfield.
Bottled it against lower league opposition in the FA Cup, despite playing a strong team. So no chance of doing the real domestic double (again quite a few have achieved this) or real treble.
You’ve spent the GDP of a small country in unearned income.
So, were the claims premature and unjustified, or will a few more one-sided wins against the league’s cannon fodder who don’t even want to compete against you mean you’re actually one the great sides and we ignore all this stuff?
All shaping up to win it against United.
