I didn't watch the game. He looks alright in that compilation. I'll watch the full match tomorrow to see how he did in relation to everyone else.
He played some really good passes. Definitely a big improvement on his last Europa league outing.

There was a big difference between first and second half, though. Might be the lack of pre-season catching up with him?

I got reminded of Zidane and Davids yesterday. An absolutely dominant CM duo, first midfeld I ever remember making Keane and Scholes look somewhat human (until Keane later tore Juve apart)

But anyway, what midfielder could we potentially partner with Pogba next season to make the most deadly CM possible? I don't think any of our current CM is on his level

Pogba & Rakitic would be insane. But unrealistic

Kroos.
If Herrera fully adapts to the holding role I would see that as the best footballing midfield in world football.

Yes if Herrera can master the holding role then we have exciting times. I still think Blind/Schneiderlin bedside Pogba would be great. Blind is a ridiculous player at times, would dominate games in midfield in my opinion

I want to see him dribble more if I am honest, more flicks and tricks. His start so far has been good, he's been solid but a bit faulty at times defensively (which is to be expected). I do feel like he is somewhat shackled by the two man midfield and we need to combine him, Blind and Herrera in midfield. Also people need to make more off the ball runs for him to spot out. Once we sort these things out we will see the best of Paul I am sure.

I was at the game, he and Mata look like they are forming a good partnership, you can see it in that pig a compilation. they understand each other and know how good each others ability is on the ball, stick Herrera back in that Midfield and it could be a midfield that looks defensively weak on paper but the understanding, movement & ability between the 3 would make it a free flowing midfield force.

Absolutely terrible first half. He is constantly in wrong positions making it difficult for our players. They are marking him really tight though.

he should have scored no doubt, but he has been much better than the previous games.

Poor first half but if he had got that goal we would have seen him get more comfortable. He's very inconsistent but there is a strong player hiding in there.. Need to be patient with him.

He started really well but fizzled out and ended the half quite poorly.

Trying to do too much. Every time he gets the ball it's a couple of touches. He needs to calm down and keep it simple. If he was relaxed he'd have buried his chances.

Defensive liability.
This is the big worry for me.. Herrera is doing his bit unlike Fellaini but you need one more CM to come back and mark that area just outside the box for cut backs on the counter. Pogba is vacating that area and refusing to track back which causes a big imbalance.

It is a risk which Mourinho is willing to take against smaller teams.. Almost like a carrot encouraging teams to exploit it so we can have more space to attack. Definitely need to be careful because against non relegation candidates we would get torn apart.

I thought he was great when we were creating chances and should've been putting them away. Meh since then.

shame, that goal would definitely help him to get more into game, so far disappointing, Herrera much better but I guess it might take some time to adjust to the tempo of premier league, every team will mark him tight, and creating a functional relationship with Herrera and Mata

Good 30 mins ok 15 mins. Cant see why people think he has been poor. He has done his job. Could have scored 2 and created one. If that happened most would be waxing lyrical about him.

In terms of his best performances

I think he's been good today albeit not as good as last week or his debut

According to WhoScored only Herrera, Blind and their keeper Grant have been better than him so far. I don't necessarily agree but I do think he's played relatively well. People just have absurdly high expectations.

If he had scored that chance all the posts above would probably be raving about him. He did quite well it's hard when the other team sit back so much but he should have done better with that first chance. I'm sure he'll step it up in the second half.

Has the right ideas and he is (even at his worst) one of the most creative players we have. Just not on the same page as his team mates but I have no doubt that'll come.

Shit again. So that's the first half against Leicester where he's actually looked like a good player. Money well spent.

Can he stop whatever the feck he's doing and just play football? He's trying some silly shit every time he gets the ball rather than just doing the natural thing.

Pogba lacks defensive consistency, especially when it comes to positioning. So frustrating to watch. We really need to play with a 3 man midfield.

Poor, he could have glossed over things a bit if he's scored his two chances in which he did make good runs, but overall looks too anxious a lot of the time.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
He's a £30m player trying to play like a £100m one...

Which in turn is making him play like a £15m player.

He needs to calm down and get back to basics.

Needs to seriously tidy his game up. But the talent is there, albeit not to the level £100m should buy you.
