He wasn't poor at all, some of you guys have unrealistic expectations for a midfield player. It was actually a very mature performance from him.

Looking over my shoulder.
Could have scored with the header.
Should have. He’s a terrible header of the ball though. Awful timing, and the ball seems to hit his head like a prime Tyson would.

Other than that, quality player. When defending, i think he was very good, surprisingly so, at closing down space and positioning himself between the ball carrier and options to pass to.

Solid performance, some great surging runs and did what was needed in a difficult fixture. Controlled the midfield well.

Great game, I actually wanted him to be the first to be subbed before Matic got the knock. He really put in a workout and would have had great preparation for Saturday had he got the last 20 to 25 mins off. At times he was almost covering the entire center on his own. The team in general has confidence going into the weekend game, I can't wait.

He is frightening when he applies himself. Something else physically and technically. The Ballon D'Or dreams might become a reality if he stays on track.

He’s scored his fair share of headers in his time to be fair, and also defends crosses well.

Looked gassed in the 2nd half which is not surprising considering he's been out for so long.

IIRC he said in one of his interviews that he should improve his heading a lot. He wins his share of headers but lacks the control. Pogba and Smalling wins lot of headers from the set pieces but most of the times it's off target. He should improve.

His return to action is leading us to improved results straightaway. We will see further evidence of this in the Gunners’ game. This team is being built around him. We added Matic and I believe we will add 2 more in the coming windows. Of course he can’t do it all on his own but his presence and influence on our team and other players cannot be underestimated - not that anyone is questioning this. We “hang around” and do our best when he is out of the team and excel when he is present. Amazing talent and an absolute privilege watching him in action.

Seemed to tire out at the end, but he was a very positive influence in parts, he's excellent at taking us up the pitch with his driving runs. The creative side of his game wasn't quite there tonight however it was that ball that set up Young's first goal and the free-kick so maybe I'm being too harsh.

Very interested to see how Pogba will do against Arsenal. We missed him badly against Liverpool and Chelsea but this game will be the first opportunity to see how he will perform against top quality opposition this season.

Pogba’s greatest skill might be that somehow when he has a bad touch, or gets it stuck Under his feet, pushes it too far or Just even hits it off of someone, somehow it seems to land or work out for him. He must be the luckiest player ever.
Think it was a few games ago he kicked it off of someone it returned through his legs and he had no idea where it was but then he notices it and it’s sat perfectly behind him beating that man he just kicked it off. Happens a lot in games.

That’s not his greatest skill.

Pogba does that on purpose, watch him closely and you realize he has a great amount of awareness and improvisation in tight areas. He's also is very proficient at using his body to create space for himself. If you do not pay attention you will miss several tricks or manipulation of the ball by Pogba that gets him out of a sticky situation in every game.

Martial does a very similar thing when he dribbles with the ball, it looks like a mess when he's going past players because it ricochets off of shins and feet, but Martial comes out with the ball almost all the time.

An ok performance, but perhaps defensively undermined by his midfield partner who had his worst performances yet. Perhaps to be expected without any pre-season, and over-used(?) which led to the injury.

Next, United would need him to step in the next few games with the possibility without having Matic.

It probably isn't luck if it happens all the time mate.

Yeah, same as how Suarez somehow manages to break through a couple players with the ball bouncing off several legs

This exactly, some players just have this leprechaun sitting on their shoulders. Played against guys like that who somehow the ball just always drops to them or things like that.

Good work for the goal but his decision making in these big games leaves a lot to be desired. The amount of times he gives the ball away stupidly in big games or just doesn't clear trying to be a smart arse and then loses the ball isn't good. I think he wants to show off on the biggest stage but he'd be better off keeping it simple at times. Other than that, he's been solid though. A good outlet on the counter to carry the ball.
