I know this video has been posted but i strongly recommend people with doubts to watch it. It's not some scrabby 5 minutes highlight video.
I can't see how he's going to be anything other than a success here. I watched him in the reserves but this player is unrecognisable. He has elevated his game so much.
Is there a more complete young midfielder. Strength, pae, skill, balance, technique, grace, guile, toughness, passing(long and short)...this guy has it all. Look at how players are bouncing off him.
Wow. That's a hell of a highlights reel.

For one thing, he should have had at least twice the number of assists he actually got. It's like Dybala is the only forward who can actually finish his chances. Some staggering openings wasted there.

The most encouraging segment is the first one, showing off his strength, stability and quick feet in tight spaces. He's coming to the PL now, and he'll have a massive target on his back. He's not going to get a second's thinking space. Not one team is going to let him do anything cleanly. He'll have a player tackling him as soon as the ball turns up, a player throwing themselves into a block the second space opens up for a shot, a player clipping his heels the moment he looks set to run free of his man. If he wants to pull things off, he's going to have to do it with fouls bouncing off him and players constantly in his space. Fortunately there's a lot of evidence there that he can do that.

Him, Shaw & Martial are going to tear up that left flank. Remember when it was Blind, Young & Fellaini doing it to take us into the top 4?

Of course it's true, Zidane himself admitted he wanted Pogba.
I know that ZIDANE wanted him but the question is was there a offer from Real which Juve would had been willing to accept.
If not (that's what was widely reported) he never had a "choice" between us and Madrid but only between staying at Juventus (waiting for Madrid maybe) or re-joining us. If yes, however, we indeed were able to secure him even though Madrid was in the race.

Either way I'm so freaking happy that he's back and don't care about the ifs and buts anymore! :)

Would love to see something like this, not gonna happen with Rooney there though. Schneiderlin in there as a Vidal-lite to allow Pogs to do his thing.
Your team in theory is great and if everyone in form it has a great balance but carrick is more past it than Rooney, that team would get overrun.

Both Pogba and Zlatan will be closely marked by the opposition to give them as hard a time as possible in their first (sort of first for Pogba) season here, but teams can only give those two so much attention before the likes of Martial, Rashford, Mkhitaryan and Mata will punish them for leaving other areas unguarded.

At times last season it felt as though teams were just letting our players work the ball because they knew we'd feck it up at some point before we actually got a decent attack going. Getting rid of that whole lark and adding creative, deadly and technically superb players like Mkhi, Pogba and Zlatan could make things very interesting if/when things click. We won't be easy to play against, that's for sure.

A lot of wow for me if that's really the case... It's lovely. Just lovely that Pogba was able to say no to Madrid.
And also if the 2 meetings were enough to seal the deal then I want to pay a special tribute to @Acquire Me and @Maradona10

Btw, the article says that in 2013, United scouts were already saying that we needed to sign back Pogba, available for £65M.
Unbelievable information here but well, Mourinho wanted him so.
Woodward is probably now the king of football finances. I have so much respect for that man. He is a business genius. He alone did not do this transfer window alone, but he was the mastermind behind everything.

I think that shape is the consensus on here. Just swap Schneiderlin for Herrera.

Could have been better. With Ed's face on Amitabh Bachhan and Lingard, Rashford and other youngsters dancing around in the background instead of the extras :p
Lolz. That would have been really really funny ... with that wife (I don't remember her name) with the face of José doing the red thingy to him... lol. And Rashford dancing in the background. Lolz. Can't stop imagining and laughing at this

It's an absolutely frightening prospect. When Shaw and Martial click, oh lord...

Juventus will not receive the total fee, however, as Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola receives a huge fee for finalising the deal, believed to be €25m. In fact, it was Raiola’s fee that was reportedly holding up the deal.

A further €5m will go towards purchasing a house for Pogba, and then €2m will be split between three of the Frenchman’s first clubs, Le Harve, Torcy and Roissy-en-Brie.

GDS.

Dont get ahead of yourself too much, it would be a good duo but there have been far better ones already. Shaw is a cracking left back but his linkup, passing, dribbling isnt as top class as the likes of Gaya, Alaba, Alba, Rodriguez, Marcelo.
He is 21, he's going to be a bloody phenomenal player. Add to the mix that his partner down the left Martial is 20 and it's a bloody exciting link up for the next several years.

It feels like Juve got a shitty deal in the end, especially considering how much they've spent on Higuain.

How I think we should line up.
Very Nice!

I am still very unsure about MS though. He seems completely pointless to me when I have seen him play. I don't see any contribution that merits a place in the side. What I don't want is other players picking up his slack for him. It is easy to look ok when you have the likes of Pogba in the team making life easier for everyone. I would also prefer a specialist RB and have AV as an option on the wing as backup (if he is to remain at the club).

Edit: Really cool feature on that BBC page. Shame they don't have TFM as a midfield option because I think that will be his best position moving forward. He could be the Defensive midfielder we have been looking for to sit behind Pogba

Martial needs to wake up first. He has been quite lethargic this pre-season.

I think he is having a lot of personal issues surrounding his Babymamma and his kids, then the whole number fiasco.

Hope he puts his head down and expresses himself through playing.

Not to mention none of those are even in the PL, we're still a fair bit away from European battles. The best genuine LB-LM duo this league has seen in recent years that I can remember is probably Baines and Pienaar, which was how many years ago?

The feck did we convince Juventus to pay for his house? That makes no sense.

I'm not convinced that this is true, but is there a chance that it got to a stage where Juventus kind of needed to sell? After purchasing Higuain possibly?

It was obviously a priority for them to purchase a top class striker, and replace any outgoings, which they had already done early on with Pjanic coming in, how is pretty much a like for like replacement for Pogba. Before anyone jumps down my throat - not saying they are the same type of player, just that they will play in the same role in the Juventus system.

Maybe it's that Juve owed Pogba some of the transfer fee as part of his contract, and he's using that money to buy a house? Though I don't know how they'd know what he was going to use it for.

I think people are forgetting at the time Pogba ran his contract down at United that summer he had an offer from nearly every top club in Europe to sign for them for free. City were offering him 1st team wages, Zidane wanted him for Madrids youth team, Arsenal, Chelsea everyone wanted Pogba.

What Raiola did was use his previous connections at Juve and tell them they can get him for free as long as Mino owns a certain percentage of the player and any future sales. Then i think Pogba family threw in their hat in the ring as well and asked for percentage of any future transfer fee if Juve wanted him to sign for free. So Juve only got Pogba over every other club in Europe because they agreed to a percentage of ownership by the agent and the family also got a small percentage of any future transfer.

My guess is that the agent fee and pogbas signing fee were included in the transfer fee to benefit both parties. It gives United the prestige of having the world record transfer, and it gives Juve the justification for selling their prized asset. Juve fans seemingly have not been fooled though. It was obvious once they signed HIguain for so much that Pogba was going.
