Would you accept Dybala and Sandro for Pogba?

I read Real Madrid wants him as soon as possible.

If that's true that can only mean loads of cash for Manchester United, and eventually for the shareholders.
 
I defended Pogba even in this very thread but once he publicly stated he wanted out then we should let him go. I don't trust a player who wants out irrespective who he is. I hope we'll get the fee we want. If not then we should consider making it fees + players. I don't mind a 60m + Dybala + Cancelo bid for example.

What are you on about? He was our best player last season and voted into the PFA team of the year.

Only at Utd will someone say our best player hasn't fecking worked out.

Pogba was, along with Shaw, our best player for the first month or so of the season. And then, after a bad period (no worse than anyone else was), he was once again along with Martial our best player for another month or so. This way that I see people on here or people in the media going on about him being terrible all season until Ole took over is simply wrong.

He has been inconsistent as all hell, but there has literally not been a player in the squad who has been more consistent. And his good periods have been far better than anyone else's good periods, and he's generally had more good periods than just about anyone else. He did have two or three absolutely terrible games this season where he did deserve all the shit he got, but otherwise he's been no worse than anyone else yet he gets far more unfairly criticised than his performances actually deserve.

Pogba came to us because he believed we were turning the corner and heading back to being a successful club. We hired Mourinho, we signed Pogba and Zlatan, it all looked like we were on the way back. Unfortunately as we all know it went to shit and he's ended up 'wasting' three years of his career at a club which has been terribly run. Obviously the money we offered him helped, but I'd be almost certain that we would offer him more now to stay than what he'd get at Real/Juve if he does leave.
 
I couldn't care anymore regarding pogba. If he doesnt want to be there, off u go mate. When i think about it, what are we actually losing? what has he done that im thinking 'we are really going miss that'? Potential, thats it really. Potential aint good enough if u cant be bothered. He is one of the best CM on his day yeah, but that is nowhere near enough if your day is only once or twice every ten games.

My fear now is United will haggle and let him go at the last minute, and it will be too late to bring in someone else at that stage
 
If united let him go it makes man utd an even more unattractive proposition for transfers. We are struggling as it is to get players in and I fear we won't sign anyone else this summer and if we do it we will overpay for whoever we get.

He was our best player in about 7 games total. He was probably our worst player in about the same.
 
Media newspapers are unreliable no matter what country. In spanish media Pogba to Real is a done deal, but after what they spent with Hazard I find it hard to believe.

He stays unless we get a reasonable offer. He's too good to let go on the cheap. Modric bale and 50 mil and madrid can have him

They won't. They already made their top transfer with Hazard. Real is always a big spender, but they also sell big (even reserve players get sold by 15M + 50% future transfer + Buyback clauses, for example).

Not gonna say Isco is amazing, nor have i seen a ton of Real matches, but when I've seen Isco he was both hard working and creative. If he still is, I have no idea, but he used to be real class at some point. And if Pogba is leaving, creativity will have to be replaced, either from the midfield or the attack. There are of course better options out there, but if Real cant afford to pay asking price, then you might be stuck with a unhappy player in the dressing room.

After having seen people have mysterious "back injuries ", or bite themselves out of the club, I can say that those kinda players are not what you want hanging around the players that actually want to put in some work.

Madrid would accept that deal. Modric is still a useful player, but he's 33, and Bale has been a general flop for the price he costed them, and bare in mind Pogba is still yooung.

I would sell him for £150 million, as long as the money would be added to the transfer budget. We should already have a 200 million plus budget add a Pogba, Lukaku and the money from a few other sales and there would be over 400 million to spend. Even in this crazy market that is enough to put us on the right track and then some.

That would be an awful deal for us. Don’t want any of their players. Varane is the only one of their players I’d be interested in and that ain’t happening.

Just guesswork. I think he wanted Madrid over us from the beginning.

Then there is the MDL rumours of his agent pushing him towards us despite him wanting Barca, which I think would end the same way.

We better bring players in before we sell, the market will pocket full of cash will just raise their demands when we go in to buy after sales.

Well, that's another way of viewing it if you prefer not to credit Pogba. I was only trying to point out how important he is to the team and why we should try to replace him with very good players if he is leaving. That he didn't get POTY probably had more to do with sentiments.

You don't get player of the year based on numbers and stats but on consistency reliability and quality. Just because he took penalty duties he was the top scorer in out team " which he is boasting about in his interview" which shows his mentality and way of evaluating himself and his performances.

Even Shaw didn't deserve it realistically.

I think he means the season before last... but still makes very little sense! Is he saying that the fact we managed to keep Hazard quiet for two games makes the guy a bad player?

Certainly quite good. I was just comparing to Gerrard and Lampard seasons. It will have been a fantastic season if they had done it.

It's a sellers market. Did you expect psg to pay neymar release clause, or psg putting in 160m for mbappe or Barcelona to bid 150m euros for coutinho? Or even Napoli asking 150m euros for koulibaly? Or even lazio president to ask 130 m euros for milinkovic savic?

If psg joins the chase i sure as hell expect 180m pounds offer which should tempt us to sell .

He reckons that Pogba and Raiola want away from OT because his ' marketability ' is being eroded, week in and week out, as his displays prove that he's really not as good as the hype that goes with him and he's so often outplayed and outshone by relatively unknown and unrated midfielders in the EPL, and up to now has shown nowhere near the quality of the better known midfielders such as SIlva, De Bruyne, Ericsen, Hazard, etc.

The great desitre to go to Spain or back to Italy is simply because almost all the world class and better midfielders are in the EPL but he could continue to feed the hype that goes with him if he was surrounded by and playing against fairly average midfielders in Spain and Italy.

Got me thinking....And I think there's more than a grain of truth in that.

I'm not down with the stats you tell me. I'm judging based off my eyes and commentary on here for most of the season.

There's a bit of revisionism going on from some on here where all his bad games didn't happen apparently. It was in no way a great season from him and his previous ones were significantly better especially his first one.

Like Koke, Saul, Rakatic, Rodri, Arthur, Vidal, Fabian Ruiz, Allan etc right on what planet does the EPL have the world best midfielders...

Of course there are certain parts of the media reporting that. Partly the pro-Madrid and Barca media, and partly the anti-Utd media.

De Ligt for example has said multiple times in the past that the Premier League is his favourite league and that he barely watches Spanish games. If we were still at the top of the table we would be massive favourites to sign him, and the only reason we are unlikely to sign him now is because of how poorly we've done over the last six years. If we could sell the 'project' to him and make him believe we are going back to the top, I think there would be a decent chance he'd join us and then if we fail to do that he would look to move on in 3-4 years (just as Pogba has now done). Unfortunately I doubt we can make De Ligt even believe that.

But according to the media (very well fed by the Barca hype-machine), the only possible reason he'd join us ahead of them is the money.
