Can't afford to lose him. None of our other midfielders can step up to the plate and give us what Pogba can, and there will not be a midfielder of his quality available to us on the market. Plus, people seeing our best player leave will make us look even more like a club in free fall.
Cant keep a player who doesnt want to stay. Performances will dip, attitude will go down, will become a pain in the as*. Let him go

So we got rid of Jose to keep him happy now he wants out.

He's been an absolute waster since he came back here. I'll be really sad to not have a discussion about which player we need to sign for him to finally put a consistent season together.

He's given nothing, taken everything now wants gone.

Typical Raiola client really.
We certainly haven't had £89 million fee plus £250,000 (or whatever it is) per week out worth out of him. He's been very hit and miss, though it's been a very tough time at the club all around. Players have so much power now, it's impossible to keep someone who wants to leave. He would just down tools and force a move, so it's best to cash in.

Pogba in full swing is great but how often does he have a run of 9/10 performances?

Ronaldo was consistently amazing and elevated the whole team, losing Pogba is nowhere near the same thing as losing one of the best players of all time.
Pogba in full swing or not is Unites's most productive and dagerouns player.

If we had in the bag De Ligt and AWB and Sancho, i'd say that we are fine. But we don't. We seem to be going to the summer of 2009. Selling our best player and ... replacing with hope.

Lot of noise coming out about this seemingly to have been the plan for him and Raiola all along. Do three years at United and then move to Madrid. At this point it's hard to trust anything otherwise.
6 years contract says otherwise

If it’s true that Pogba only joined us on the condition of being brought to Spain after three years, then he’s exactly the piece of s*** one can expect him to be and we should also never negotiate with Raiola again. We have to stop being his money milking machine.

Jesus you'd whip anything in to make him sound like a God wouldn't you.

Being our main goalscorer and leading assists means nothing in this season. We were so hilariously shite that it's not even worth pointing to it as an acheivement. Especially considering he racked the stats up in 3 months out of the 9 and half his goals were penalties FFS

Once again you're harping on about Real when it's clear the higher ups would rather not have him. It's like you don't read posts or understand anything beyond a love for Pogba.

I can play similar games, Anderson, signed at 18 and won a place in our squad. Won Champions League and a few Premier Leagues. Legend.

@Ban's right I don't think this debate is worth my time.
Were have I said that he's a god? He's just an excellent player and our best player. His track record and stats speaks for themselves as much as the top sides who want his signature. Also he'll be missed terribly not only because of his skills but also because talent is desperately lacking in this side. We wouldn't have missed Pogba if prime Scholes, Giggs and Ronaldo were around. We will miss him because we've got a crappy side whose managed by a rookie who was out of depth even at Cardiff and whose under the leadership of a CEO whose got no idea about football. I honestly can't believe that I have to state the obvious here.

So bored of the Pogba soap opera. Just ship him out already, De Gea too.

No one is bigger than the club.

I switched my views on him today. He need to go before the season starts. Very toxic for the other players knowing your key player doesn't want to be here.

Yet his impact was not greater than to see his club finish in 6th place. Closed the season with 2 goals (both penalties) and 1 assist in his last 15 games. Good riddance if he's desperate to leave, and far from irreplaceable.

Time to move on if we get around £150m, use the money to reinvest the squad just like what Liverpool did with Coutinho

Our yearly budget is around £150m, if we sell Pogba & Lukaku we should have £350m to revamp the squad.

Yes we haven't bought wisely in the past, but I don't see much of a risk here given Pogba hasn't performed anywhere near to the level we expected, and he is replaceable unlike when we sold Ronaldo.

Everyone hates Raiola so much. I knew this story with Manchester United and Juventus before, but I wonder what he did to be despised by so many people all over Europe.

I very much doubt that that was his fault. The team was in free fall and managed by some rookie who had his arse handled by him by Cardiff.

Potentially losing Pogba, Herrera, Lukaku and De Gea in one summer. Talk about getting rid of your deadwood

Doesn't the club has all the power ? Should just tell Madrid Juventus and PSG that he is not for sale. Unhappy Pogba is still better for us than rest of the squad and no matter how much money they offer, no ''replacement'' would be of the same quality.

Not really surprising. He plays to further his personal fame and fortune (which is fine). Doubt he really gives a feck about the clubs he plays for. Obviously the most talented United player, but too weak mentally for the rebuild you need.

Thank god we extended Ashley Youngs contract
To be honest some of these departures were coming. You could see Pogba and DeGea wanting to leave last season. Even more absurd just how long it takes us to get going in the market.

No matter what the media, Real or Pogba say, we must look for the best interest of United.

What is the club situation ?

We have a bad starting 11, we are out of the CL and the 3 most marketable players want out or are pushed out (DDG, Pogba, Lukaku)

What we need to do ?

Try to change there mind if we like them or get the replacement in before we sell, because we are not first choice for any good ambition player without CL.

Pogba want to leave, get the replacement in, first.

If we can't get a replacement, he stay.

Lukaku want Inter, they pay up or we try to swap him for Koulibaly.

DDG dont want to sign the contrat, we sell this summer and we go for the best available option.

I never thought that the top players were getting rid of the deadwood (ie Manchester United with all its drama, shit players and mismanagement) rather then the club.

No he's not. Its your over reaction to his contribution that suggests you think of him as a God.

We sure as feck won't miss him when he's gone. His output is replaceable. If you stuck Bruno in and hoped for him to score 7-8 goals from open play this season, it's not an unreasonable expectation.

Ok you think he's not an excellent player unlike Real, Juventus and France who think he is. I rest my case.

So you think it's better option to keep a player that clearly stated he wants out? Do you think Mr. Baller will play well if we forced him to stay?

He had a good world cup for France. 4 good games in 7 has feck all to do with Club football. Worth noting even for his country can be inconsistent (been booed off by his own fans).

Why are you talking about Real again? Serious question. Zidane rates him, Real clearly don't. Real actually pulled away from bidding £90m for him, you're just shooting yourself in the foot every time you mention them.

Juventus - yes. They rate him. It's not hard to rate him for Serie A because it's easier to do well there. So yes take a rest, you have no case.

A shame really. He’s my favorite United player, but if he doesn’t want to be here then so be it. What we shouldn’t do is let this drag on. If we’re selling him, get it done and get his replacement in.

With that being said

Guess he's not going anywhere this summer if true
Madrid can feck off with this nonsense. Who are they to say they aren’t paying more than an undervalued price? Pay what he’s worth or feck off.

How do you know he's poison?? From what you've read in the papers and online?
Based on what I've read/heard, yeah.

Admittedly, I don't hang around with the team in Carrington after training and I'm not part of the team's WhatsApp group, I also don't know or socialise with the players. As such, I really only have online and media hearsay, alongside what I see on match day, to base my opinions on.

Could I be woefully incorrect: sure! Though, we are conversing on an internet forum where I'd imagine the vast majority of posts regarding any player are either based upon or are a reaction to online/media hearsay.

Whether they're correct or incorrect, I'd hardly say I was alone in how my opinions are formed.

just a hunch, but I think Juve might have won Serie A without him

And the point is? He was good in patches and shi* in patches. We want players who are committed for the whole campaign surely.
Which is why I think he should go this summer if Madrid are willing to pay. He's been playing like he doesn't want to be here anyway so why keep him, he isn't going to improve, it will only get worse. It's also worrying what kind of effect he has on the team, having him around talking to some of the lads about going to Madrid at some point isn't a positive work environment. Let's not forget that it was rumoured that someone in the current squad said to him at the end of last season "If you go to Real, don't forget me". "Invite me when you're playing at the Bernabeu".

To be fair, there seems to be a lot of baggage that follows Pogba, suggesting he's a bit of a problem behind the scenes. I found a timeline of his time with us so far:

September 2016 – The first signs of Pogba struggling to adapt to Mourinho’s system emerges in United’s 2-1 Premier League home defeat to rivals Manchester City. TV pundit Jamie Carragher calls Pogba’s performance “ill-disciplined”, saying he was “like a kid in the schoolyard, running where he wants and doing what he wants.”

March 2017 – Following an FA Cup defeat at Chelsea where Pogba struggles again, Mourinho accuses the player’s critics of being jealous at how much he earns.

September 2017 – Reports emerge that Mourinho is unhappy that Pogba flew to Miami to recover from a hamstring injury rather than stay in Manchester.

January 2018 – Pogba is hauled off just over an hour into United’s timid 2-0 defeat to Tottenham and has a heated debate with Mourinho on the Wembley touchline.

February 2018 – Mourinho drops Pogba for the next game against Huddersfield, hauls him off again in the 1-0 defeat at Newcastle and benches him for the first leg of the Champions League clash with Sevilla.

March 2018 – More unwelcome headlines follow for United as Pogba and Mourinho are said to be “barely on speaking terms” amid reports the midfielder could be sold in the summer.

August 2018 – Mourinho suggests Pogba was unable to be distracted by external matters during the World Cup due to the short nature of the tournament. Despite returning late from the World Cup, Pogba starts and captains United in their opening match of the season – scoring in a 2-1 win against Leicester. But he says after the game that “there are things I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined”. Pogba is linked with a move to Barcelona before the end of the transfer window, but Mourinho says: “I have never been so happy with (Pogba) as I am now.”

September 2018 – Pogba is thought by some observers to be questioning Mourinho’s tactics after the 1-1 home draw against Wolves by saying United should “attack, attack, attack”. Reports emerge before the Carabao Cup tie against Derby that Mourinho told Pogba in front of the squad he will never captain United again as he does not embody what the club is about. Pogba is rested for the Derby game and Mourinho says afterwards he has taken the vice-captaincy away from the midfielder, but the manager denies the pair have fallen out.

– Mourinho and Pogba share a tense training ground exchange the day
after the captaincy news and, though Pogba started against West Ham, he is substituted 70 minutes in to a 3-1 defeat.

Let's not also forget there was the 'Caption this!' when Jose was sacked and the rumours that Pogba was overjoyed at training and being very vocal about Mourinho being sacked for fecking with him.

Latest is that Solskjær and Pogba have had a bit of a fallout too.

Hard to know what to believe at this point but he's either unfairly targeted by a lot of people making up lies or some of this attitude problem he may have is justified criticism.

*Forgot to add that apparently Raiola offered him to City, which he wouldn't have done unless Pogba wanted to go.
