OHKO'd a shiny Electrike
I saw this pop up on my Youtube recommendations and honestly thought this was in relation to George Floyd, but this is from 2014. Just another example of how little has changed.
Good, it's stupid. She's also apologised for doing it.
glad I'm not the only one.I was just thinking the same thing
I didn’t know MSP already did that. It’ll really be something if they can pull it off in Chicago.MSP schools took the lead on this a few days ago, as they should. But, yeah a lot more should.
That could hit the cops where it hurts the most, in their overtime and loaded pensions pocket.

Right, I’ll preface this post by saying I didn’t read the entire twitter thread... but does anyone else see a problem with his dismissal of the significance of the higher rates of crime by black offenders?Tweet

Excellent thread on some of the issues discussed in the last couple of days (I’ll forgive him the irritating use of “Karen”)

His handlers want him to “Defund the Police.” I want more money for Law Enforcement!
She should be jailed on account of being Katie Hopkins @TheReligion can you not pull any strings ?Hopkins would be marching arm-in-arm with BLM supporters if it paid her rent. She's a mercenary, and doesn't even have the dubious prestige of a contrarian.
I posted Katie Hopkins' pinned tweet but then I realized it wasn't worth it and would unnecessarily trigger posters. We have enough going on as it is.@Gandalf Greyhame what happened to your post? I was gonna ask you to give a quick summary of what she said in the video as I didn't want to watch it myself
More schools need to do this.Tweet

They just discontinued their relationship with SROs, who were part-time and already on police salary. From comments, sounds like the police weren't used as a liaison or there to build relationships with the kids and communities they served. Just patrolling as needed and arrested kids.I didn’t know MSP already did that. It’ll really be something if they can pull it off in Chicago.

Yeah I’m puzzled about that myself.Agree mate, I'm guessing that was the father recording? Mental he didn't do anything.
I dont think his actions are that of a man concerned about the safety of his pregnant wife.Tweet

a) What a bunch of cowardly cnuts.
b) What are they shooting him with? Are those paintball guns with pellets full of tear gas? WTF?!
I’m sure you’d have handled the situation with the calm of the Dalai Lama.I dont think his actions are that of a man concerned about the safety of his pregnant wife.
How so?I dont think his actions are that of a man concerned about the safety of his pregnant wife.
then I would suggest reading them first.Right, I’ll preface this post by saying I didn’t read the entire twitter thread... but does anyone else see a problem with his dismissal of the significance of the higher rates of crime by black offenders?
Where’s the wisdom in minimising the significance of the fact that murder committed by a black offender occurs at double the rate of murder by a white offender? He says the numbers are “not of any significance as the numbers of actual offenders are so low” - but... of course they are so low. Most people aren’t murderers. That is not a revealing point. In that minority of offenders, though, it seems they are disproportionately and overwhelmingly black. That’s a troubling statistic and almost certainly points to wider sociocultural problems.
If he minimises the significance of black crime, due solely to the fact that black individuals are only “0.10% likely to be murderers” (compared to 0.05% for white individuals), couldn’t one similarly dismiss the significance of police brutality as it only occurs in a minuscule percentage of cases?
Just in case I have to say it, I am not minimising the significance of police brutality, nor am I suggesting the black community should look inward for a solution. I am, however, criticising his conclusions from the data, as I’m not sure they are particularly sound.
Thank you
Great read.Tweet

It is kinda ridiculous to expect underfunded schools, patrolled by cops who criminalize juveniles to magically do better. If anything, you already know the reasons why they are underperforming. Instead of using these reasons to fund them better, we do the exact opposite. It is a cycle of lack of resources, poor results, and blaming everyone else that will keep repeating itself. I don't think you can expect different results if you keep repeating the same mistakes. They just discontinued their relationship with SROs, who were part-time and already on police salary. From comments, sounds like the police weren't used as a liaison or there to build relationships with the kids and communities they served. Just patrolling as needed and arrested kids.
Some schools will always require a law enforcement presence because of gangs and/or ethnic related violence.
Complete alienation of law enforcement within communities sets a bad and very risky precedence, even if law enforcement has to continue to gain the trust of the general public and implement reform. Wonder if local law enforcement will do a little less than normal and become apathetic to some emergencies that require their presence.
As for Chicago PD and CPS, not sure where the budget comes from. But those are affluent neighborhoods where Oz Park and LP High School is at. Some of those schools in CPS need police protection such as in the West and South Side. Kids have poor attendance, which negatively impacts school funding and school closures, which forces kids to go to school farther away from home going across gang territory, which discourages them to go to school.

No, but i wouldnt have gotten out of the car to remonstrate with the police in what seemed like a dangerous situation.I’m sure you’d have handled the situation with the calm of the Dalai Lama.
Pregnant women have an innate sense to protect their kin, from my own experiences they are extra vigilant to threat. As a husband or partner you'll experience the brunt of that occassionally. You'll learn yourself to take less risks and put your energy into making your partner as calm as possible. How so?
Fair enough, we all handle stressful situations in different ways, I would have driven away as fast as I could. But to imply he wasn't concerned about his pregnant wife because of the way he reacted was quite unfair. My wife would have been out of car screaming at the police as well pregnant or not!No, but i wouldnt have gotten out of the car to remonstrate with the police in what seemed like a dangerous situation.
If you really care about your family you put them first before your pride.
if i had done what he'd done my wife would have given me all kinds of hell.
Running from the police seems like a great idea.Pregnant women have an innate sense to protect their kin, from my own experiences they are extra vigilant to threat. if shots are fired at you, you get the hell out of there. Do whats right for your wife and child and maintain a sense of safety. Dont follow your ego and fight back.
Would probably have not spent a full minute encouraging the cops to keep shooting tear gas at his pregnant girlfriend. How so?

your generalising my point, if your sat in your car and get caught up in a dangerous situation with vunerable people in your care, its better to 'run" continue on your way.Running from the police seems like a great idea.

The first officer who pushed and then bent down to see him looked proper shooked as he walked away. I think a good few police officers must feel very conflicted carrying out these orders.Tweet

I believe I'm keeping it quite specific to the situation they found themselves in. He's right to remonstrate with them. They're in the wrong for their childish response.your generalising my point, if your sat in your car and get caught up in a dangerous situation with vunerable people in your care, its better to 'run" continue on your way.
Old Trumpy hardly helps the situation, but how many liberal governments in the US have been able to curb police brutality?Police brutally seems to be the norm under right wing governments. Same with ours.
This is one of the worst I seen, sickening.Tweet
