In 2018 on average 3 small plane crashes occurred and there is around 120 helicopter crashes per year.

yea sadly some do. It is and can be dangerous, but I remind people that the majority of on-the-job injuries and deaths are from traffic collisions, not from being killed by suspects.
It may not be the most dangerous but the stress levels are through the roof, psychological problems, substance abuse, domestic abuse amongst other things.
