Brilliant today. What a partnership with Maguire honestly. First half both him and Maguire did really well defending us from midfield being exposed.

What a fecking signing!!! We robbed Real Madrid blind. It's his first game but you can already see what he's about.
Got outjumped by Saiss for their corner but otherwise a good performance with an assist to boot. He'll only get better.
He actually was at fault for that DDG double save. Other than that he was absolutely incredible!

Also remember when their project was about bringing experience in to help the young lads? They signed David Luiz and Willian, while we get Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo

Pretty poor from commentators pretty much never acknowledging his defensive actions, considering how star player he is and this was his debut. Superb display, once they get used to each other with Maguire, we will see even better displays from both of them. Finally we have a player who keeps us calm with any 1v1 or crosses to the box..

Was it dogged, solid and exactly what I was kind of expecting? Absolutely.
Couple of poor passes in the first half but other than that, stood tall, wasn't afraid to push up, wasn't afraid to engage or drop back, wasn't afraid to show Traore down the line and was fairly progressive and positive on the ball. I only counted maybe one or two occasions where he passed it back to De Gea.

He had good game, will be very disappointed if he doesn't end up with 36 assists in league.

He did something that I have missed since Vidic and Rio, when he won headers he made sure they went to our players. It is a huge thing for momentum in a game.
