That's irrelevant. The question is between RH and Osimhen. If we could afford Osimhen, we'd buy Kane.

Don't worry mate even WW got to start for us.As a Dane I'd honestly like him to play at least one more full season in a team where he's guaranteed a lot of playing time as opposed to coming here (or elsewhere) where he's probably mostly going to challenge for a starting spot. Of course it's always interesting to see how a young player steps up when having to prove themselves but I'd like to have a proper striking playing for Denmark again who's actually playing in his club as well.
From his point of view he's probably also looking at which manager/coaching setup he's going to work with and whether that's a good fit.
It's a moot question because Osimhen isn't coming to United unless he halves in value overnightThat's irrelevant. The question is between RH and Osimhen.

Well put!If we could afford Osimhen, we'd buy Kane.
Others have explained but to reiterate- with Hojlund you buy a project not a finished article. However he has the right profile - his vertical running, quickness and link up play is imo a better fit for us. ETH achieved success with a very young Ajax team that didn’t have established stars so finding a better fit can be better for a team that hasn’t found his feet yet, whilst with Osimhen you pretty much buy a finished product but his qualities doesn’t fit our style as others have explained. A more physical forward with worse link up play.

Martial and Rashford.Who is he coming here to compete with?
Martial will be injured, and unless Rashford sign's a new contract soon there's a chance he'll be goneMartial and Rashford.
I mean, it's a hypothetical. If that's the game we are going to play then claiming he's a better fit is moot, because Osimhen is clearly a better player. It's a moot question because Osimhen isn't coming to United unless he halves in value overnight
He's a clearly better player than RH and would make United a better team. Anything else is just a gamble on the potential of RH.Others have explained but to reiterate- with Hojlund you buy a project not a finished article. Never seen enough of either of them to form any judgement, both are a big gamble but RH is a far lesser gamble than VOI mean, it's hypothetical. If that's the game we are going to play then claiming he's a better fit is moot, because Osimhen is clearly a better player.
The unwillingness to answer a simple hypothetical speaks volumes.
So a player who scores 31 goals in 39 matches is a bigger risk for a team like United lacking a goalscorer than a player who scored 10 goals in 34 games in the same league?Never seen enough of either of them to form any judgement, both are a big gamble but RH is a far lesser gamble than VO
You just made that up.Jesus there seems to be some posters in this thread who actually want this transfer to go tits up (if we do sign him) so they can say I told you so on an internet forum. Sad.
I think I'll take the judgement of our experienced manager and coach on this one over some people on a forum who think they know what they're talking about.
Yeh sure I didYou just made that up.
Yes, he’s clearly better than RH right now. Then Haaland is better than him and Mbappe is better than Haaland. This however is besides the point. We’re not buying Osimhen as he would cost at least twice as much as RH..He's a clearly better player than RH and would make United a better team. Anything else is just a gamble on the potential of RH.
Equally obvious who that was directed towards and you completely imagined what you wrote. Below average attempt at a straw man.Yeh sure I did
Convenient that your the one that responded considering your one of the ones I'm on about though.....
and no a better player doesn’t make a team better without the synergy. There are many examples of that.
Martial and Rashford.
I didn't bring up Osimhen. I'm just responding to the claim RH is a better fit, which I strongly disagree with.Yes, he’s clearly better than RH right now. I understand that RH is a risk but another season at Serie A and if he bangs in 20 goals and we’re looking at the same valuation as Osimhen.

Yeh I really didn't mate. Anyway I'd expect nothing else from you, your one of the most miserable posters on here. Have a good day.Equally obvious who that was directed towards and you completely imagined what you wrote. Below average attempt at a straw man.
Firmino also fit Liverpool well b/c their midfield had so little creativity. In theory, United don't have that problem with Mount and Bruno. That's a good point. There were many better CFs than Firmino but don't think most of them would have made Liverpool better like Firmino did. His playstyle and attribute complimented Salah and Mane style very well.
Finishes off with an ad hominem. Lazy and unimaginative.Yeh I really didn't mate. Anyway I'd expect nothing else from you, your one of the most miserable posters on here. Have a good day.

I agree, but my point is sometimes the gulf in talent is significant enough that a) the drop-off will not be significant enough to go for a worse player b) the player is so good the team is better off tweaking their tactics to accommodate them.Point is better players doesn't always make team better, it's always about the team and how the player's style fits with other team members.
Nothing to do with Osimhen or Hojlund, it's a generic point.
maybe this will help expedite things

Multiple reasons can exist for why someone thinks a transfer won't work.It seems that the excuses just keep changing. What exactly is the worry about his transfer? Is it his price, his age, or the incredibly colossal pressure it is to replace Weghorst for United and how he inevitably will fail, lose all of his confidence and play for Exeter City in two years?
Are you forgetting that we have both Rashford and Martial to play striker? I have no doubt in my mind that Martial will play most of the time, and when he inevitably gets injured or lazy, Højlund will take over. If he doesn't do well, we can always play Rashford there and Garnacho/Sancho on left.
Well we differ on that one. For the price touted I’d question Osimhen fit at United. And while I was onboard couple of years ago having seen more of him and ETH style I stand by it.I didn't bring up Osimhen. I'm just responding to the claim RH is a better fit, which I strongly disagree with.

He'd only be going on loan. Why has he said no to Juve though?
If they're getting Mason and we're getting Hojlund, Atlanta are getting the better footballer. It's really a shame how things have turned out for Greenwood and United.
maybe this will help expedite things
not going to question the validity of the source?
You're making a big assumption that he could replicate that in a different league and a team that plays a different style, I'm not saying he couldn't but it's certainly a bigger risk when one is costing probably 3x as much as the otherSo a player who scores 31 goals in 39 matches is a bigger risk for a team like United lacking a goalscorer than a player who scored 10 goals in 34 games in the same league?
Ok.
