This is from the 2005 Fa Cup final, our most undeserving loss ever, we KILLED Arsenal that day. Keane again scoring from the spot.

Ronaldo was toying with Lauren all day long, Rooney the same with Cole.

Arsenal 0–0 (a.e.t.) Manchester United

I like to forget that game ever existed.

Through all the names listed, I don't think we'll ever see anything quite as random as Phil Jones stepping up vs. Sunderland

Poor guy probably thought he was going to take a corner again. Certainly seemed more like a corner.

After the two injury setbacks yesterday my side going into it would be:

DDG
Valencia - Bailey - Rojo - Blind
Pogba - Herrera
Rashford - Mata - Martial
Zlatan
I think we'll line up like that too. Such a shame about Henrikh but that's still a really strong 11. Ok Rashford is no right wing specialist but I'd imagine he could cause problems with his pace there. I'm not convinced Carrick would of played anyway even if fit, unless Jose is planning to go a bit more solid in midfield for the final. In which case then I'd expect Fellaini to go into midfield with Herrera with Pogba behind Zlatan and Mata on the right.

I feel mou may err on the side of caution and go with a 3 man midfield. If we are Chasing the game we can put in a #10.

You are superstitious I know but I can see a 3-1 United stroll on Sunday.

Yeah mate agree with that, they do have quite a strong midfield so he might start with the 3 just to make sure were solid to start with and he can always change to a 2 man midfield if needs be, can see Fellani coming in as he loves his height and strength, defo a big pity about Miki mate but hopefully only a week or two

That shoot-out, I'd blocked it out of my mind

Although it's sort of funny in retrospect to watch the look on Moyes' face.

It's telling that they have had two games this month and 15 days of rest by the start of the match while our lads have had six games already. Next month and April is going to be just as crazy.

Living in Southampton, work will be unbearable if we lose.

Apparently Mata was at a funeral in Spain today although I've seen two tweets one suggests he will be on the squad tomorrow and one suggests he won't. Can't post in the match day thread though...

If Carrick is fully fit tomorrow I hope we start with 4-3-3. Better we start balanced in case Soton started strong and the game is a final so time won't be against us anyway. Scoring one or two goals shouldn't be big problem if the attackers were focused.. GL

A couple of thoughts:

No Manchester United manager has ever won a trophy in his first season (Charity Shields don't count)

Also, if we win, we will equal Liverpool's haul of trophies. This stuff matters.

Great archive footage of Southampton's only EFL final appearance. Lost 3-2 to Forest in a scrappy terrific match. You can just about see how good John Robertson was plus a man in a red hat smoking in the crowd. Hope today's game is as good.

Mou is a handsome bastard, you have to admit.
He certainly was. These days he looks more like a math teacher going through a divorce.
He was suave looking here, shushing Liverpool fans in a previous EFL final (0.46).

He was a goodlooking devil. Agreed that now he looks more conservative.

I just hope it doesn't go to extra time, my nerves can't take that.

I'm really excited for this. Amazing how such a non-essential trophy can do that.

On team selection, have a horrible feeling Rooney may start behind Zlatan.

Wembley! Chuffed for you lads that are going. I'm having a big sleep and then waking up early before work and watching. Gonna be magical!

And somehow it's the club's fault for not getting Bale, Kroos and Fabregas. sigh!

I've read this a few times, it just can't happen and would be a ridiculous decision to start him!
