The toffee lady?Where would he fit into Everton's side then?
Who's place would he take?

He doesn't. He's not used as first attacker anymore.
It's very clear he's pure squad filler now, which is very welcome from guaranteed first pick on the pitch
Manchester United without Rooney, i seriously don't like the thought of it one bit but he's a great player and always has been. The man has been a great asset for years and was a high profile commodity. I will blame Rooney alone for his decline, had Jose taken over from SAF things might have turned out different. I think Rooney should move to MLS and play for Beckham's The Miami MLS team. He will be welcomed with both hands by Beckham and his players although a 20 mil+ bid from China and a huge weekly wage might be much more persuasive.
Rooney will always be a United player in my heart and anything else will only depress the united faithful like i. Sorry to see him go. #Legendary
Yes, I am.
Harsh ratings to say the least but I sincerely don't think he would get in any side up front, and very few at 10.
Not sure what you've been smoking but I'm pretty sure just about any other non top 7 side would LOVE to have Rooney up front, if the wages weren't exorbitant.
Edit: to add - it's no shame on him that he can't get in our side. We have a ridiculous number of options at #9 and #10. Mata, Martial, Zlatan, Rashford, Mikhataryan are all better than Rooney in those respective areas right now but I'm never unhappy to see Rooney coming on if they're not firing, he's a good player even at the present moment. His free kick vs stoke alone showed what he can still do.

Its like a Lambo with a piece of carpet from the footwell glued to the roof, some cylinders removed, that has been run on old chip oil for two decades, had a caravan welded to the arse end and the steering modified so it takes 4 minutes to turn a corner.Just as recently as the Hull game he was still being used as the first attacking sub, he came on at half time.
Even as a squad filler it's ridiculous having a 300k a week bench warmer who offers very little when he does come on, it's like maintaining car payments on a Lamboghini that's had the engine removed.
This. I'm in full agreement I genuinely can't see another striker that he's better than (that starts for a PL club). No, Benteke /Rondon etc etc etc etc all way better than him.

I'd hazard a guess that he would if he wanted to stay until the end of his career, he'd be useful as a low maintenance role-player. To be honest though, I really doubt the club would need to reduce the wage a significant amount, with the money that the club is raking in at the moment. His wage reflects the correct tier regarding the length and quality of service given to the club, even if it doesn't correspond with his current level. I don't think the club is in dire need of removing him from the wage books, I think it would be a much different scenario if the club's finances were not as strong as they currently are.Any chance he will agree to take a paycut?

I can see him taking a rolling deal at the end of 2018 or moving on. He should pretty comfortably make the WC squad with the amount of bureaucracy that has crippled the structure in the last couple of years. Looks like Southgate has already penciled him in regardless.

You completely disrespect Everton to suggest Rooney would get in their side, you really do.
This is not some Scunthorpe type club who would happily have Kevin Keegan back at 38 etc etc

Only a certain type of bird mateHahaha! Can still just about pull birds in it though
How much did we pay Moyes for the sacking?Rooney these days is going through the motions of being a professional player. I would think the club would be delighted if he moved on, and take him off his massive salary. Sir Alex had the right idea to move him on whilst he still had value.
Another one of Moyes' ridiculous decisions to give him a massive contract.
No idea. How much did we pay Moyes for the sacking?
Scholes.has anything happened? thought maybe something had with the thread bump or is it just more abuse being sent his way despite having not played?
probably best fro everyone he does tbf, and for this forum haScholes.
Made a comment yesterday to the effect he would move if not given first team opportunities.
I don't even think he's that good anymore. With other attackers coming in this summer, he's not even going to be in our top 18 best players.I'd hazard a guess that he would if he wanted to stay until the end of his career, he'd be useful as a low maintenance role-player. I am not sure has much respect for the club, he sure did not show much respect in Ferguson last season. Fergie knew he was done and wanted him out, then there was Moyes .....My dislike for him has subdued since he's been playing less/not at all. I really hope he leaves as if he stays he's just going to tarnish himself further.
I think everyone respected Neville when he quite quickly realised he was done, Scholes as well. Its come to Rooney sooner but its important he has the dignity and the respect for the club to recognise the situation.
