Hate the way media treating Farage like the bogey man. This is a man that has failed to be an MP seven times.

What part of the post you were responding to does ‘bribes’ relate to?
Tory voters consider social security and policies aimed at helping the less well off to be bribes encouraging them to vote. Not one of the fundamentals of a civilised society.

Editing my own posts.

And also, on the flip side, why they're frequently quick to mock anyone well off enough to not immediately benefit, but who still display left leaning sympathies, as hypocrites and posers, or "champagne socialists" playing to the gallery for kudos, or some other kind of social benefit... because the very notion of anyone caring about the welfare or interests of anyone besides themselves and people like them, is inherently ludicrous. Everyone must be just as selfish and un-empathetic as they are. And driven entirely by person gain of some kind. Obviously. Because if they had to consider for even a second that they weren't, they might have to contend with the idea that they're maybe just kinda bad people? And they can't do that. So it's the first one... Definitely the first one.

Yeah, although a lot of the #fbpe camp do that too: "No one voted to be poorer".

The assumption being that the vote was about personal gain and not the socio-cultural attachment to a bizarro, nonexistent, post-WW2, imperial Britain.

If you're a well off socialist you're insincere/a hypocrite. If you're a poor socialist you're just jealous.

Basically you're just not allowed to be socialist.

i mean it's no surprise they've cocked everything up, this was a group of MPs hastily jumping from their own party before they were deselected. Their logo should have been a life raft. Why the 'UK' tagged on to change? And why are they even pushing the independent angle still you can't be a party and also independent

Some people initially liked the idea of a centrist party but I've yet to speak to anyone who thinks they'd vote for them now they've actually presented themselves.

Theres a ton of people online that love the idea but asked them what policy should a centrist party have, they always fail to give a answer.

There should be an official enquiry into what went wrong with that evalutation, literally death camp pyschology if he gets a fit for work pass, a total utter disgrace!

Nothing went "wrong". The system is designed to do that.

When you see things like this happening it really raises some questions.

Are the political class in this country just a bunch of people as thick as the rest of us who lucked (or networked) their way into positions of influence? Or is the job of 'being a politician' so hard that even the best and brightest amongst us struggle to do it without fecking everything up? Is there an issue with our political system that means parties either don't have the resources necessary to run their affairs competently or don't have the external oversight other organisations have to keep them in check? Or is it that the pool of those who choose a career in politics is self-selecting, and that ambitious, opinionated and ego-driven people who actively seek to wield political influence lack the mentality and skills required to run an organisation, never mind a country?

I like the thought of a central party, but since it's inception, seems to like they've taken nothing but Ls.
