Huge loss, doesn't take a doctor to see that is at least 3 months out probably a lot more.

If we had a decent central midfielder, Jones would have been able to step back and play there but we don't do we have liability Evans, I hope they haven't been watching him because if they have expect a lot of high balls into our box.
Yes, yes it does.

Vidic was running down the wing, scoring a goal, when he was assassinated by a Swiss terrorist. He hit his knee with a .8mm bullet.

Let's be realistic, he'll never walk again...

How about we wait for the prognosis before jumping to conclusions?
Well it's not really that inappropriate enough to give an opinion, it'll be the same as Steve McNally and Rob Swire are doing now - any prognosis Fergie gives after the game will be based on the same thing I'm basing mine on.

 So you'll have the same expert judgement Sir Alex will have from his trusted Physios watching from your couch, righto.

So, apparently, we won't know the extent of the damage until a scan is done. Surely it would be cheaper, and a hell of a lot quicker for the United boys to simply log on to the Cafe?

In fact, I would say people watching at home with the benefit of replay have seen it a lot clearer than they have. There's not an awful lot else they'll know by assessing it in person.

They'll scan it in a couple of days and ye'll find it then. I came on for a rare post because I thought I might have an opinion that would be of use but hey-ho.

some on here live in denial. He might be lucky and its an mcl strain that does not require surgery but could be out for upto 4 months depending on the severity. If its a rupture then far longer.

Who is denying anything, you dolt?

you really are an idiot.

You have nothing. Because no one is denying anything. You have people who are saying "wait and see, we don't know how serious the injury is yet." I like to refer to these people as "sensible."

Then, we have tools who think they can diagnose an injury from the comfort of their own living room.

Remind me, which group do you belong to again?

Definitely. If Vidic is out for the season I fear for our PL hopes.
Very much so too I'm afraid.

Vidic is such a massive presence in our defence, a such presence Ferdinand sadly haven't been able to produce this season.

Vidic has played in as many clean sheets as the team on the whole without him. That's really how big a part he is in our team. If we're discounting the minor cups the ratio between CC with him and without is just as massive.

Obviously when our defense get settled it'll get better without him, but untill then and if we continue our rotation in defence I think it'll be a long wait for Vidic to get back.

His reaction at first worried me but I think he'll be out for a month or so, likely to be a twist.
No. It's his ucl. Probably out for six to eight month.

How do you know?
Go back to the zoo you belong
He might die if they don't take him to hospital in time I am hearing.
Why?

I'm realistic and the replays showed a very nasty injury. And by the way I feel the same as the rest. Catastrophe.

According to his agent he's out for a long time. It's really bad news. Thanks to all of you for a nice conversation.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
The papers are still just reporting what his agent told some Italian reporters - and the comments may be from before the scan.

The nearest we have to an "official, from United" statement is:
SAF to reporters at the airport: "We don't know with Vidic. It's certainly medial ligament but hopefully that's the worst it is."

Vidic apparently told one of them that the scan would be "tonight."

Seems odd that some assholes are dying for it to be serious so they can be proved "right."

I damaged my cruciate ligament when I was a young athlete, at that time the convalescent was close to a year. Four month with crutches and six to seven months before you could start your rehabilitation.

I find it sad that you take such a low position and assume others to don't care for our players. I know the pain, both inside and outside and every time I see this happened it reminds me of my own problems. I had to end my career. I find your comment insulting but I forgive you. We all do bad things in the heat of the moment.

Was that tonight as in last night or tonight as in tonight?

When a knee or an ankle is forced into that unnatural position there is always going to be at lease ligament damage and probably more. Leta hope these reports from his agent are unfounded buy would not surprise me if true.

His agent might have used 'cruciate ligament' as a synonym for serious knee injury, as sometimes people do.

'Cruciate' sounds to much like one of the most evil spells in Harry Potter. Can't be good.
