Barça again looking uncomfortable early on in a game. Messi should've scored just now though... then again Toño usually plays a blinder against him, dating back to his Racing days and at Granada once as well.

Luis Enrique is a cruel man picking Xavi. He must be in hell playing on that pitch (if it's as bad as it looks on my tv...)

Busquets is a joy to watch in the middle, any chance he'll ever leave Barca ? I'd have him here or £40m.
LOL, he's been shit for about two years now. In fact, he's probably their second biggest underperformer after Iniesta over the same period. Offers absololoutely no protection to his defence, and always passes it backwards.

On another note, Munir is well out his depth at this level.

Selfish by Munir there. Easy pass to Neymar was on.

Edit: should have got a penalty in fairness.

A lot of their players were out of their depth for Barca in the last 18 months or so, doesn't mean that Busquets is shit. What a stupid statement. He's the best at what he does in world football.

... and you have the nerve to say that was a stupid statement?!

Oh dear. Busquets has been woeful for a long time now, he's slow and ponderous on the ball and he offers very little to the Barcelona side. He's not an anchor man who protects the back four and neither is he a deep lying playmaker, which he was able to do in previous years. His first option is to turn around and pass it back to his defence or keep it safe and simple and play square passes, basically what Mikel does for us.

At his best he's a tidy playerwho can initiate attacks from deep, but he's failed to do that in a very long time now. No way near the 'best at what he does', whatever that means.

FYI, they were two separate statements - have another read.

Yup. Alves is a bit shaky on high balls, but as far as shot-stopping is concerned he's golden... incredible reflexes at times + the penalty saving record of 46%... The hype surrounding Guaita came from a couple of immense displays against Barça, I believe. He's completely stagnated since then though.
I watched those games and didn't think he was as good as Alves.

The hype came from Guatia coming through the ranks and being a fairly good young keeper. But at no point did he look better than Alves to me. Alves did however have some consistancy issues earlier on at Valencia

Munir off (finally), Pedro on. Rayo red card. Not good for them.

You have to accept he has been perfect fit for Barcelona and Spain. But im sure that if you put him in any other team, that doesn't play football possession like them, he would be pretty average. I doubt he will ever leave Barcelona on his own will though.

Yep, and Barcelona look hopeless even against this lot, man down, high line and all their attacks are breaking down whenever Neymar and Pedro/Munir get the ball. Might watch Villa/City instead.

Messi's finishing has deteriorated so much from a couple of seasons ago.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Rayo tactics are so stupid
Rayo don't change their tactics very much. Real Madrid beat them 5-0. After the match, the manager congratulated his team on their performance and said that if they play like that against everyone, they'll do fine.

He was right, they went from the relegation places in early season to mid-table by the end.

Funny thing is, he took his goal really well. Dreadful finishing in the second half though.

630 minutes (7 full games) without conceding for Bravo and his defence since the season started. Thats a new record.

he is 2 goals away for becoming the maximum goalscorer in the history of la Liga... maybe he was nervous.

Well, I'd just hoof the ball to the wings on every play and if at least 20% of them turn out to be onside, my chances of winning would be enormous

Ridiculous and suicidal high line from Rayo against a team like Barca. It could be their normal and preferred tactical set-up that they are used to but they clearly had to tweak it a bit against Barca of all teams surely. Messi was poor with his finishing today even though he got a goal. Perhaps the tax case or the potential record is playing on his mind a wee bit.

Angeleri sent off against Granda. Málaga's fifth red card after seven matches...

Keep Rodgers at Pool.
Criticisms of Messi are almost always just pointless. Like, for example, how dare he not score a hat trick every single match day?
