He's acting like a right twat. Obviously the Aussies will love it and encourage him, but this nonsense that youngsters are texting him asking advice and Morgan would love to have him is fecking annoying and has to stop. And I'm not even an England fan!

Great player, cnut of a person.
KP in a nutshell!

Good! A tie was a stupid idea.

I've also read that DRS will be used in the World Cup, which is excellent to see. BCCI can feck off.

DRS was used in 2011 world cup too.
Ah, I don't remember!

It's about time DRS was used in all international matches. Excellent technology which has improved the game imo, not sure why India hate it so much.

Lemme know about it as well please.
Sure. I will probably put up a separate thread for it so that fantasy discussion later on doesn't interfere with matches discussion.

Any of you guys interested in doing a draft?

Snake draft, each person picks one player at a time and tries to assemble the best team possible?

We did that. At least once as I participated in that. There was another planned but couldn't take place for lack of numbers. I see few more cricket interested posters nowadays so can be done I suppose.
I had Kallis in my team and he wasn't given enough due. I refuse to take drafts seriously at a place which doesn't recognize 2nd best all rounder of all time well enough

Erm no. Botham imran kapil and sobers are ahead of him. Might even add wasim.

I don't think so. I will only have Sobers ahead. Kallis was not flashy or larger than life personality like some of these hence he gets underrated. Kapil and Wasim? No way. As good as they were as allrounders, Kallis easily trumps them. Imran and Botham are closer competitors but I will rate Kallis as an allrounder more. Probably Imran and Botham had more 'defining moments' which live in memory forever but efficiency wise, Kallis is better.

Imran was as good a bowler as kallis was a batsman and his batting was better than kallis bowling. Not to mention his captaincy, leadership, etc.

With wasim it's closer but there isn't a lot between the two imo.

Kallis was boring as feck to watch. A loss for Kallis is a win for the essence of sport.

Pakistan are absolutely clueless in these conditions. They'll go out at the quarter finals.

Well at least Afridi seems in some sort of form with the bat, his last 6 ODI innings have been decent scores with an excellent SR. I expect all the South-Asian countries to struggle in the WC, with the winner of India-Pak being the moral victor of the tournament.

New Zealand will be a very dangerous side. Was very impressed with them in their series against SL, they have assembled a very solid all round team.

Just saw on cricinfo that there is article for West Indies too in world cup contenders series. Didn't read but if they are doing it for West Indies, hope they do for Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Ireland etc too.

I think India have no chance.

We've never basically had the players to compete for a tournament in Australia. In England, it spun and we benefited in the champions trophy. In the sub-continent, we've got batsmen who can out-thwack the rest.

Our bowling looks toothless and our batting's run into bad form at the wrong time. As someone said above, spending 3 months in Australia before a WC in Australia isn't such a good idea.

The only thing that makes me think we can do alright is the luck of the knock out. Finish 2nd or 3rd and come up against NZ/Eng/Sri Lanka in QF..

NZ look a good outfit though. I think they'll go very close.

They're playing way too much ODI cricket before the WC.

This, plus 6 group stage matches..

Might be exhausted by the time the semis come around.

I am not sure. They had 6 ODIs against SL and 2 against Pak. To their credit, they rotated well. Plus the big factor is, they were playing at home and winning. Players must have got breaks in between games to go home and stuff for couple of days. Totally different than our scenario where team is in Australia since November end, still win less and will be there for 1.5 months more at least. We are more in situation of both physical and mental exhaustion. We should not have played this tri series and instead sent players home for rest after test series. Or Australia could have played two 3 match series vs us and England maybe with England first and our players going home for 2-3 weeks.

Any chance of Yuvraj coming back in the squad? Rohit Sharma & Jadeja along with two bowlers will have fitness tests on Saturday.

Jadeja got injured again? He played our last game? Sharma too I don't think is big doubt, should be OK by 2nd game at least. If any of bowlers go out, another bowler will get in, can't see Yuvraj brought in. If somehow Rohit doesn't make it, Vijay will come in.

Pakistan just replaced Junaid Khan with Rahat Ali

Do they even want to qualify for the QF's? This guy averages 37 in List A cricket
