I don't think you can make the case for one being clearly better than the other.
The 2 I mentioned are ahead of the pack.
Are you really comparing those 2 with them? Ramos hasn't won La Liga and none of them reached a CL final. A EL win alone isn't really comparable. Klopp came close to win the biggest trophy with a comparable team and won one of the Top3 Leagues twice and the double once. Of course that doesn't mean he will be a success at Real, City whatever, but he is much more proven than Ramos or AvB have ever been.
I'm with you on this one. He's undoubtedly a good manager but I'm not sure he's as good as the vox populi would have us believe.
Hope he doesn't go City.. Paris or AC Milan perhaps?

Is he still at Mainz or out of job?Good young german coach, had good seasons with Mainz and brought them into the EL. I think he is a little bit overrated, because everyone really wants to see a Klopp 2.0 in him (german, young, crazy, Mainz and now Dortmund^^). But he is a good coach and potentially very good, just has to prove more for me. Dortmund will be the test for him, I can see Hummels, Gündogan and Reus leaving now, will be a big transition, but he will also have a lot of money to build his own team. Could be interesting

On the flip side, I think he's better than this season has shown so it's quite hard to state with any certainty how well he will do in his next role.

He'll either go to City or take a break for a year and then replace Wenger I think. Not sure he will take the City job. He would have to spend some time rebuilding the squad. At Arsenal he would make an immediate impact. It will be interesting to see what happens to Dortmund and some of their better players now. Think Hummels will definitely be coming to OT now.
I think this season has put Simeone slightly above Klopp imo.

Porto and Sevilla reaching the EL finals is comparable to Dortmund and the Champions League in my eyes. It wasn't just what they won it was the style of play and bringing the best out of their players.
Kloop has a lot to prove, this league season isn't an isolated one, they were poor last year as well but were given excuses about injuries etc.

For me still the best Coach around. BVB 2 or 3 years ago played some of the greatest Football I have ever seen.
Going to City and build a new team would make a lot of sense for him. There he could also ignore Bayern (despite maybe in the CL).

He took a sabbatical, but Mainz didn't let him out of his contract. He will take over a new club this summer, Leipzig and the HSV were likely candidates so far. But with that unexpecting announcement today it's clear that he will take over Dortmund.

Surely. Seems he's lost the players and the supporters.
The whiff of a press conference has generated 6 pages on the fan board of another club (in another country) within an hour of it's announcement … we have no real idea of what he'll say (I'm still going with the Hummels contract thing … seems his SOH).
Everything he does is obviously a "big deal" but press-wise, say you're doing something for "personal/family/good of the club" reasons and you are normally excused.
Anyone wanting to bet Klopp is still currently 4/1 to join City on Ladbrokes. 11/10 everywhere else it seems.
When I read your comment then it's pretty clear that you don't realize what a club Dortmund is and where they came from before Klopp. They have no right to compete with Bayern, Barca or Real. They were just one of the bigger, better clubs in the Bundesliga like Sevilla in La Liga and were in a huge crisis before Klopp. Reaching a EL final with Dortmund is comparable with what Sevilla and Porto did, reaching a CL final is a complete different thing and nobody expected that, only comparable with Simeone and Atletico. And they beat already a great Bayern side, who made it to the CL final, in the Bundesliga and won the double and they went toe-to-toe with treble winning super-Bayern. But they never had the money or the ability to keep those players and stay at that level. And that's why his least season wasn't poor, some people just had unrealistic expectations after he won things, he had ton of injuries, lost key players and still kept his team behind Bayern as number 2 and made another good impression in Europe. It's really only this season which is disappointing.
Maybe he'll just announce a new sponsor.
