Blind at cb again despite looking awful in both games. Left footed cb philosophy is stupid, simple as that. We will drop plenty of points next season if we play a combo of Jones and Blind. Only one of Schneiderlin or Carrick should be playing imo. They seem to play the same role (same problem with Schweinsteiger and Herrera). Herrera should definitely be playing today imo. Sends a terrible message to him after being one of our best players last season. Smalling paying the price for his terrible performances on tour so far. Jones deserves the start since he's looked our best cb on tour. Surprised Valencia didn't start today tbh. Maybe he still has a slight knock. Can't say I'm too happy with the selection, particularly with LVG's suggestion that this XI could start against Spurs.

this puts huge pressure on depay to be great from the get go. usually young players start on the wings to prevent their mistakes from having dire consequences for the team. he will need to keep the ball well under pressure (rooney too) lets see how they do.
Two goals and five assists in 26 matches, the season before 2 goals and 1 assist, before that 0 goals 3 assists, with better players around him this season he might also do better and Louis van Gaal's system might bring the best out of him you never know, it can do that to any player providing they do as he says but if not like Rivaldo you'll be benched. now?LVG has always seemed to prefer Jones to Smalling. When Jones was fit last season he played, Smalling found himself on the bench a few times. Ridiculous really, though it's not half as daft as preferring a player who isn't even a centre back to Smalling.
It's good having players like Herrera on the bench. Shows squad strength. It would be stupid if he kept getting benched for a player like Cleverley or something but the midfield we have out there is still quality.
Still get goosebumps watching that goal from Andy Cole. The partnership of him and Yorke was sublime.

as for formation, 4-2-31 can be transformed easily to 4-3-3. but some dont want to hear that, its either 4-3-3 or everything is horrible.
