Anyone else feel this way?
If Van Gaal sticks with what looks like his "A team" from pre season then I seriously think we are in big trouble. I'm talking about team and system that played the first half in our pre season games.
I know most of the threads on here are pretty much complaining about the same things and the more I think about it the more worried and convinced I become that this team and the set up Van Gaal is planning to use is miles off being good enough.
First of all I don't think any of our CBs or front 4 would get into Chelsea, Man City or Arsenals first 11s, they are all ahead of us in these positions. Secondly our manager is making an already average attack (in terms of top European teams) even worse with his over complicating and playing players out of position.
Of course he will not be able to stick with this exact line up the whole season as injuries etc will force him to make changes but is that what it is really going to have to take to get our best team on the pitch? Fine experiment a little in pre season but how long will he stick with this team/system in the league, how many points is Van Gaals stubbornness going to cost us until its to late and we are miles off the title and battling for fourth spot again.
If im wrong and this team does well then I will hold my hands up and applaud Van Gaal but I cant see it. I may even be jumping the gun here as we don't know for sure what his line up will be come the Spurs game, I hope he surprises and makes the obviously simple changes 90% of the fans want and can see.
Can anyone really see us challenging for the title with Blind and Jones at CB while Smalling is benched? Memphis at number 10 instead of on the wing? A captain and striker who the manager will never drop no matter what and who looks like he is close to being finished as a top player, with Hernandez as back up? Arguably our best player last season in Herrera benched just because LVG doesn't fancy him?
Maybe im wrong along so many other fans and Van Gaal is a genius.
