Don't think DDG is bothered, regardless of how it goes down he will be the starting GK for one team by November, Madrid have Navas and Casilla so they are good for a year if it falls through.

And he will be selected for the euros regardless.

God knows what happened. What I do know is that this deal was handled poorly and we're the ones who will lose the most out of it. We're now left with a pissed off keeper who will leave on a free next summer and a disaster waiting to happen as his cover
His cover is certainly a disaster, no questions. I am hoping DDG would get his head around this in a couple of weeks and be back at his best.

What happening with Valdes though, rejected his transfer and posted a United logo on his facebook account!

I read something last night about the club telling him to sign a new contract or never play another game for us. Brutal but it kind of appealing.
By the club though, you probably mean Van Gaal, even if you don't know that for a fact.

Suck it up? Regardless of how pampered and well paid they are, they are people. I can't see De Gea suddenly wanting to give his all for the club who fecked up his dream move.
How many times does it have to be said before it's obvious to everyone? If Madrid ponied up the cash two months, two weeks, or two days ago, none of this would have been a problem. If DDG can't see that, he's a fecking moron.

What's that got to do with him being depressed and unmotivated?

Just say he stays and Van Gaal puts him vack in the team how do you think the OT crowd reacts to him? Im guessing he will be still cheered all season. Then he will head off to being whistled and booed at for every little mistake next season at Madrid

Yeah - I can imagine - but anything that happens at United seems to be LVGs doing.

He comes across as quite a cnut.

Can't see it not happening. It's in everybody's best interest that this goes through.
It was in everyone's best interest for Coentrao to come to us too. Didn't matter one bit to the LFP.

Unless Mendes and his missus have him convinced that Man Utd refused to pick Real's calls till yesterday :)

Ofcourse. They could refuse but the push would be much greater than the coentrao deal considering what's at stake.

no wonder we've waited so long to make any transfers ourselves, eds been sitting at home pissing himself in anticipation of this prank! Unbelievable
Mourinho... this my friend, is how you deflect attention from a defeat.
I'd like to think it was "Coentrao".

:D

If De Gea stays, this thread has to take residence in the Classics.

Had a good laugh at Real Madrid's expense thinking Woody played them, but now hearing about the excuses coming out of Spain, it looks like Real may have played United and De Gea. They can tell De Gea that they tried to sign him, but they actually save on the transfer fee and use that to pay his wages for the next 6 years when he joins them for free next summer.

What a bloody mess. I go to bed thinking we have sold DDG and wake up to the fact we haven't. Neither club come out of this well. We are run by clowns. We have now sold/loaned most of our forwards and brought in an unknown 19 year old. You couldn't make it up.:lol:

The business done early was great, but now all the shennigans yesterday have put the squad at a disadvantage again. Just hope we get through the international break unscathed.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Has De Gea released a statement to the effect of "I've had a change of heart, I truly appreciate the support of the fans and club and will give my all for Manchester United just like I always have. As for a new contract I'll discuss this at the end of the season"

This is a hilarious situation and we can all laugh at Madrid but if nothing happens we lose. De Gea doesn't seem bothered to play for us. If we got Navas it'd be better.

If we go into the Liverpool match with Romero between the sticks we've well f'd up.

I have no sympathy for him. If he left Atletico for United with the intention of always going to Madrid, merly using the club as a stepping stone, I can't feel for the guy. And this move possibly falling through because his dream club can't bother paying up in time is just too funny.

Liverpool won't even register a shot on target on Saturday. We could play Rooney in net and we'd be fine.
We'll see. Swansea didn't need many to expose Romero. He's bang average. If he plays we risk losing.

Funny though this situation seems, Navas and Casilla are good keepers so Madrid aren't in any bother.

Both of our good keepers, DeGea and Valdes, may be frozen out by Van Gaal leaving us with Romero. The joke would definitely be on us if that happens.

Woke up to this hilarious situation, rumours from Woodward sending paperwork at 00.01 and Real not being able to open up an attachment because we sent them an older version of a word file . Oh well feck Madrid, really despise that club hope Barca dominate La Liga again.

But on a serious not the club is getting a lot of attention and bad press for all the wrong reasons over the last 3 days, becoming bit of a joke really.

They shouldn't have left it to the last possible moment. You can blame technicalities and user errors but ultimately the problem is they didn't start negotiations sooner when our stance has been clear all summer. Feck em.
