Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

Or Giggs was never in the frame and everybody got hysterical over a throwaway LVG comment?
Personally i think Giggs has something about him. He went from a flying winger to a scheming midfielder. You dont make that transition unless you have tactical nous.
I pretty much doubt it.

There had been too many hints from LVG to SAF right to MUTV who kept hammering about it for weeks. The very idea of getting an ancient manager at the end of the road was part of the plan as he would leave at the right time paving the way to the next chosen guy to give us the longevity we seeked so much

LVG delivered the first nail to this crazy plan (ie how can Giggs learn from someone whose yet to learn how EPL football works?) and Gaz splendid record in Spain did the rest

I think both Giggs and Gaz has something (there again I rated Keane and Robson too). However they are light years away from even contemplating to take such difficult role. I hope that they realise that and leave United for good for at least the next decade or so

Finally something positive coming from the club.

Back him with an absolute war chest and maybe we can get back to where we belong.

How come? He is the most achieved manager in the game. He will help bring in top players as well.
Nothing exciting, just the usual reasons people state.

Randall's just listed a few.

Had a worse season than lvg. Never seen champions fall so low a following season under the same manager

Serious questions over where his head is at right now

Treated his staff like shite and threw his players under the bus

Is a cnut

Will be a terrible day and perhaps my worst day as a Utd fan if/when he gets the job

I would take Giggs and even give David Moyes another shot before Jose.

Blah
Same mate. It's a shame. Been going to United for so long. Feel so gutted.

Not everyone is perfect in the heat of the moment. He is winner, and wants to win at all costs. He is very controversial, I'll give you that, but then again so was Cantona. He assaulted a fan. People make mistakes and learn from them, so I doubt he'd be pinching anyone's ear again anytime soon.
Cantona was a player not manager and was getting racially abused

Still no excuses, but far more acceptable

I'm betting LVG and United have already come to an agreement end their relationship. After losing Pep, it was always going to be Mourinho....I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited.....but then again I felt the same way when LVG signed....going to be interesting to see what he does with this team and who he bring in.

I think it will be a wild ride, some trophies might be collected along the way, but it will end poorly.

Who racial abused him. I think he was right to give the racist prat a kicking. Gouging the eye of an opposing team coach is completely different.
It's ok. To people like this racism and the ilk doesn't matter. Let's all eye gouge and cheat our way to the top.

There's a smaller and smaller section of Man United fans. We've just won 3-0 and fans are wishing we'd lose to get the manager out

Theres something shinier and newer out there.

Btw, here is a quote from Prophet Professor (@Kevin) in that thread:

Devastated. Barren spell to come, every rival supporter will feel exhilarated.
Yep, and if he does fail, it might cause a chain reaction of the wrong decisions made, a la liverpool. Another wrong manager, board panicking and giving new managers less time while they need more to repair any damage already caused, etc etc.

Might set us back for years if not more.

We have had produced three good squad players in the last 15 years, anyway. While letting Pogba, Rossi and Pique go for peanuts.
I am not saying we were great in the past years. I was one the first who criticized heavily the youth academy as we allowed the living legend himself (Harrison) to be replaced by former players and that hype machine (Rene) who was a disaster waiting to happen. However Maureen has a tragic record in terms of youth. He's even worse than Moyes on that regard

exactly.

Most people were against him.

Ridiculous.
But still gave their full support nonetheless. Anyway, all it says is most people were right, and you were wrong.

I'm sorry, but only in England will a CEO be dumb enough to hire this guy. And people wonder why Englanf fail to produce top talents..

The two people the happiest on the page. Ones ignorant and one is a City fan. Sums up this news.

Pep might need to get used to seeing this kind of thing again. :p

Very pleased with this news. When the Beeb's running the story you know its been sourced several times over. This is happening people.

Jose Mourinho: The one manager to take on Pep for a league title and win, with his team scoring 121 league goals in the process, is coming to United.

You do know that Pep has beaten Mourinho in almost every meeting?

Yeah I'm sure they were monitoring the situation in Valencia to see if their plan had any merit
even if they didn't what happened to Gaz shocked them. I don't rate the class of 92 myself and I never believe that Gaz could do so badly in management

I'm not into soap opera, but this does have a touch of destiny about it. Much of Jose's career have been tied with us one way or another, so his eventual arrival here will certainly be very interesting.

Both sides have no room for errors now, this is the best appointment we could've made and there's no other club that can afford Mourinho the same amount of control and financial backing. If he fails then we may just as well accept our fate as the next Scousepool and appoint Giggs.

Exactly why this is a perfect match. The wrong manager (i.e. inexperienced) would further set the club back. A slip up from Jose and he will struggle to find another top job in England which is where he wants to be from a career and family standpoint. It's a mutually beneficial partnership that's destined for success.

Statistically, no. But then he had more good young players.

Not sure what to make of this. I just hope his eye-gouging days are all but over.

To be fair most thing are shinier a newer than Van Gaal. Dude is old and wears the countenance of a man who has just accidentally run over his beloved pet dog.
