Zlatan Ibrahimovic may not move to the Premier League after all when he leaves Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Manchester United and Arsenal had both been linked to Ibra, who is out of contract in the summer and appears to be intent of leaving rather than staying in the French capital.

The former Ajax striker did hint, however, that he would not move to United with Louis van Gaal in charge, while interest from Arsenal is not concrete.

Mino Raiola is the agent of the 34-year-old, and he spoke recently to GQ magazine about his client’s future, dropping a major hint about his club for next season.

“Ibrahimovic could return to Italy, to Milan,” he said.

Raiola is also agent to Mario Balotelli and Paul Pogba, and the Italian-born Dutchman revealed more.

“Balotelli? If he had Ibra’s head, Messi would have fewer Ballon D’Or awards. Pogba to Chelsea? Not now.”

It is not clear exactly which Milan club Raiola is referring to, though it is likely the Rossoneri as opposed to the Nerazzurri due to Zlatan’s desire to return there one day.

Ibrahimovic played for AC Milan, scoring 14 goals in their 2010-11 Scudetto season on-loan from Barcelona, following that up with a 28-goal season after signing permanently.

He has 34 goals in 28 games this season for PSG in Ligue 1, and the 34-year-old admitted he normally wouldn’t consider returning to a club, but AC Milan may be an exception.

“AC Milan are a club I could go back to if I choose to and usually I don’t go back to an old team, but I would return to AC Milan” he said in October 2012.

“If they ever need help they know there to find me. I want the best for Milan and I was happy there because they are a fantastic club.”

Milan could use the help of the PSG star too, as the club currently languish in seventh place after another sub-par season under Sinisa Mihajlovic, who was sacked, and caretaker Cristian Brocchi.

The team could still qualify for the Europa League if they win the Coppa Italia, or through the qualifying process should they lose the final and finish sixth in the league. They haven’t been in European competition since 2013-14.

I dont think he will move to the PL anyway. That Mou would buy him is a logical, but a false instinct.

Based of the fact Ibra might be going to Italy? I'd say it's more likely that our board that didn't really want to bring in Schweinsteiger are not keen on paying a 35 year old 250k a week.

How is it even being discussed? He's been the best striker in Europe this season.
I agree that we should put in a great amount of effort to try getting him here, but I don't really agree that he's been the best striker in Europe this season. Don't forget that he plays in Ligue 1 either. He was a shadow of himself in the matches against City too. Suarez has definetly been the best striker in Europe this season, then you have Lewandowski, Benzema, Aubameyang. And that's without mentioning Messi and Ronaldo.

Nearly 1/3 don't want him? What the hell?

In terms of good and realistic targets, this is arguably the biggest no-brainer I've ever seen. It's not a long-term investment, but not every transfer needs to be that.

One could argue that Suarez has been the best striker, but there hasn't really been much difference between him and Ibra. I don't think the rest has been as good, and Messi/Ronaldo aren't strikers.

If we somehow sneak into the CL, we'll need him, even as just the veteran presence to take the pressure off Rashford & Martial. I don't like our striker options currently as we're too thin, too young, & too easily knocked off the ball (Martial seems to be able to hold it up well, but is better off coming off the wings). I'd still like to see Rashford/Martial get a load of playing time but if Ibra can come in knowing he'll be given some games off, I think he'd be the perfect complement to them.

If we are destined for EL, don't bother. Methinks Ibra needs the CL carrot to perform to his best & I doubt he'll wanted to wait a year to get another shot at CL glory.

This is the same forum that had a significant percentage against the idea of signing Ronaldo again so nothing here surprises me anymore.

We have scousers on the forum - they're voting against Zlatan..

Zlatan would be great for our youngsters, and disregard his failures in Europe, he's coming with a guarantee for the domestic title? Also Zlatan seems to be much more of a team player than CR7. If anyone but CR7 scores for Real, he often doesn't even raise his hands to celebrate. He sure as hell ain't wasting calories on running to celebrate with his teammates.
I'd take them both. If Leicester can win PL, I can go a little FM with my wishlist.

The question is not "who is the best striker ?" ... but "who is the best AVAILABLE striker"?

If people don't want Zlatan for the short term whilst Rashford develops then who do they want instead?

We need a #9 for next season without a doubt, Kane is unobtainable. Lukaku is possible and would be my preferred choice but admittedly that could be at the expense of Rashford. Griezmann, even if we were able to pull a transfer off, would be best played behind the striker.

I think Ibra is arrogant enough to want to come to the PL and show his best stuff in the world's biggest league before he calls it time. If we have Mourinho in charge (a manager Ibra has said made him feel like a lion) then it really is a no brainer for me.

There are pretty legitimate responses to all the criticisms thrown at him on here.

"His wages would be astronomical" - Well we're not paying a transfer fee plus we've got cash to burn anyway.

"He's too old and in decline" - remains to be seen as he's coming off the best season in his career. Plus we want a short term option at their peak right?

"He's a bully and can't do it against Europe's best" - chances are we won't have the opportunity to play against Europe's best. As for being a bully, that's what we need in this team. We hold our own pretty well against City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc, it's teams like Newcastle (home and away), Norwich and Bournemouth who cost us the most points.

"He'd be disruptive" - since when? He's not like Balotelli, he's a proper professional who happens to think very highly of himself on the verge of narcissism. Not to mention we could do with a few more cnuts in our dressing room. A proper leader to boot as well.

Go for it.

I voted no. Having seen how successful and dangerous we have looked in recent weeks with a fluid front three, who are all willing to run off the ball, clarify's to me that I don't want Ibra. Don't get me wrong, I still feel we need a striker - and possibly a winger too, but they will need to be able to run off the ball and stretch play. Ibra, as good as he can be, won't give us that.

Vardy is a complete knob but he'd be perfect for us imo. Very fast, good finisher, incredible work rate, and he's 29 so we'd get a couple of good years out of him while Rashford and Wilson develop.

Him and Mahrez pretty much were Leicester's attack this season and it won them the league. Buying them both would be expensive but almost certainly worth it.

Ighalo was also very impressive for the first half of the season but has tailed off significantly in recent months.

I'm not keen on us signing Ibrahimovic. I feel like we'd almost have to build the team around him in order to get the best out of him, which obviously isn't ideal for a short-term deal. There's also the risk of signing a player on the decline - Schweinsteiger and Falcao seemed appealing on the surface but neither of those signings worked out as we would've hoped.

Whilst he has many strengths, his lack of speed is an obvious limitation of his game and we're already struggling in that regard in a few positions. He's not really the type of player you can rotate out either, I expect we'd have another Rooney situation where he starts regardless of form.

His status as a free agent is slightly misleading too. I'm sure he'd command exceptionally high wages and a fair signing on fee, so I don't think it's necessarily the bargain some people perceive it to be.

He would create money off the pitch for us also so that would help with his wages. Plus I personally think he would make us a more attractive option bringing in other signings knowing they'd play with Zlatan. Then you'd hope the younger players would learn of him whilst we move back to a title winning team.

He is not the type of player to approach the younger players and give them advice.
He only cares about himself.

Combine that with some of his quotes about his time at Barca and it really doesn't paint a great picture of him as a role model for young players.

In terms of professionalism, he is a model for everyone: that is why he is still performing at the age of 34.

He hates defeats, including during training sessions.

Regarding Coman, he only played 3 games with PSG in 2 seasons: he couldn't be considered as a full-time member of the squad. The vast majority of the time, he used to train with the reserve.

Nah, who'd want a free top striker who can pass and find his teammates while creating loads of chances for them or scoring wonder goals out of nothing and bringing some of the Man Utd arrogance back while helping not run martial etc into the ground and also selling shit loads of shirts to boot, ridiculous!

I don't want him personally.

Dunno why but he's always struck me as a:

FT: 6-0
(Zlatan 72',77',79')

Sort of striker as opposed to a:

FT: 0-1
(Zlatan 84')

I think a player like Griezmann is more of the latter.

I don't know why either because it's only in your imagination.

Schweinsteiger was signed knowing that he's injury prone and Falcao was coming off of a terrible injury.

Different cases to Ibra who's still a supreme athlete, especially for his age.

We wouldn't have to build a team around him at all or at a minimum any more than we would if we didn't buy him. Wages, fees and all of that are secondary right now. As a club, we are at a critical fork in the road where we have to start winning trophies again next year or else risk getting swept away into a generational Liverpool-like "there's always next year" mentality.

The formula for next year is pretty straight forward.

1. Hire Mourinho
2. Sign Zlatan on a free, rolling one year deal. Wage structure contingent on starts/goals/us winning a major trophy etc.
3. Sign Griezmann
4. Retain De Gea
5. Keep Schweinsteiger and Shaw healthy
6. Continue to develop Martial, Memphis, and Lingard
7. Sign a Carrick replacement
8. Sign a central defender (Dragovic would be my choice)

I suppose it depends how you look at it really. I understand those who think he could come here and have a Cantona or van Persie like impact. Of course I'd love to see that happen too, though I fear that may be an idealist view.

I'm not entirely convinced he would reproduce what he's doing at PSG in England. Ligue 1 obviously isn't as competitive or demanding as the Premier League, whilst we have some way to go before we can even match the quality of the PSG team.

I also struggle to see how a player with an ego as large as Ibrahimovic would settle for anything less than the best contract, or even accept a role where he isn't the main man. I don't envisage Rashford getting many minutes were he to join.

I voted undecided, there is just so many different things going on at the moment that signing him without knowing the scope of the situation next season isn't exactly what I want. I think I would much rather bring him into a solid and settled unit like Larsson when we signed him. This whole attack is a complete mess. It could end up being a great signing or a completely horrible waste of time and money. Rolling the dice at the moment is not something I'd be doing personally.

We already have one ageing striker weighing us down. I just see Ibra at this age in the PL doing them same.

With the front three of Martial, Rashford and Lingard, in terms of pace and movement off the ball, I feel we have looked dangerous, at times.
Lingards far from dangerous, and Rashford isn't ready to be first choice yet.

And if you read on, I clearly stated we needed a we need a striker and right winger. Someone who has the fluidity our front three have shown in recent weeks. That someone isn't Ibra.

See this is the kind of signing Mouriniho would make, where as Poch would not not look at him and would turn Rashford into a top goalscorer.

One has short term benefits, the other long term. But then again how important is the next title post-fergie?
Yep. Let's put all the pressure on an 18 year old to carry United to success ffs. Ridiculous argument.

Even Fergie nurtured and protected the apple of his eye, Ronaldo, for a few seasons.

I don't want Zlatan here but, we need an experienced striker
