I have a feeling if we offer the most money to his agent, he will force and convince his client to come. It will all be about the agent fee and the player's wages
Raiola is known to not do that.

Would be the best possible player to come into our midfield who could be prized away from their club.
My only real issue is, would he come right now to us without CL.

If he would, then i'd be all over. I don't care about the past. It was our mistake. He showed he can do it at the top level

Can we edit the title or something to include the words 'Duncan' and 'Castles'?

Seems like we're giving him a bit too much credit here. I was expecting a better source when i opened it.

Definitely just popping out name there to drive the price up.

If he isn't at Bayern Real or Barca I'd be gobsmacked.

Bayern for me. Ancelotti seems a massive fan, he was constantly linked with PSG and Real through his spells at both. Barca probably couldn't afford him unless they offloaded one of their big 3.

The amount of teams with Zlatan in it, would honestly prefer Rashford.

He will end up at City, like Pep they've been working a deal for 2 summers now.

Wont happen, i give it a 1% chance. Just being realistic, i dont see it. Other teams have great managers and money too.

Our current position is such that we'll be doing well to hang on to our current best player.

In those circumstances it's hard not to see us being beaten to Pogba by any of several clubs who are in a stronger position.

I'd love to see him come back but unfortunately I really don't see it happening.

That was my thought too.

His logic isn't far wrong though.

If we did sign him, I think we would have to accept that we wouldn't have him for long again and understand that that isn't the worst thing in the world.

I suspect he is motivated by earning a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid and that would be what drives him and pushes him on for 3 or 4 years before we recoup our outlay and make a profit on top.
I didn't read the article but - what exactly is stopping him from going to either of them now?

Lack of CL football is being way overplayed. Do people think Leisester and Spurs are suddenly going to attract better players than us? Money is all that matters 98% of the time. That's how we signed Martial, Di Maria, Falcao among many others. Stop being so defeatist people.

A midfield with Fosu-Mensah and Pogba sounds promising. But I can't see Pogba coming back. I think he will go to Spain, or even to City/PSG.

"You and your paper can feck off."
A shrewd change of tack. Rather than making a big money signing and then have him look like he'd rather be elsewhere, try to sign someone who has already made that perfectly clear once before, before the bid is even made.

It's Castles.

Hates us, and always wrong on us.

Would hate to buy Pogba back. How could you trust someone like that! We'd look uber mugs.

No Champions League. Why would he?
This is one of these tiresome myths now.

The idea that a player would favour champions league over anything else.

If us and Leicester are in for a player, do you think many would favour them? Honestly?

Let him go for 0. Pay 80 mil to get him back.

ROFL @ Man Utd sometimes. So shit with money. Luckily they're rich.

People really need to get over that. What's done is done. It has been 4 years and Pogba has developed into a world class CM since then. Point is that Pogba is probably the best CM signing we could possibly make for our team and that's what any Utd fan should really focus on.

Whether or not we're actually in for him, or whether or not we get him if we are - the simple fact is we'll always have a chance of signing any player.

United can offer mega wages for a start, probably more than any other club - especially if we're desperate for a marquee signing.

If Mourinho, or another top manager is coming in, there's a chance a player would be interested. Things may improve here quickly. They may build around him more than other clubs would. Other clubs may not commit now. There's lots of reasons he might want to come here.

Bayern just spent big money on Renato Sanches. They ain't signing Pogba.

Real Madrid are favourites especially with Zidane.

I think the initial outlay for Sanches was about 27m. Not a massive amount, but I had forgotten they'd just signed him. Already a lot of competition in that midfield too so it's hard to see them signing another one for so much.
