He scored 4 goals in 11 games since becoming a regular starter. Great for a kid but hardly the kind of return you'd expect from the main striker for a club like United.
But isn't everyone blame LvG tactics for the low goal return? Which means if we were more attacking he would have banged probabaly 10goals in 11 games? Cant have it both ways, its either the tactics limited his goals or his ability is below par

If you point out that Ibra at 35 might struggle with pace people say the tactics will be more attacking and will be surrounded by pacy players so he will score lots of goals. So tactics in this case are the magic solution but if its Rashford its something else

The quotation coming from a swedish documentary movie called "Becoming Zlatan", or, in it's homeland, "Den unge Zlatan". Go to imdb for details. And you should see this. Great movie, great portrait, you really have to love this guy in the end. Football lives of guys like him.

I always read about conflicting opinions on this subject. Is there an actually a source where people get this information from or is it opinion based on media reports? It is not the kind of information you would typically be able to isolate on the financial statements.
I was doing some back of an envelope calculations earlier in the thread - would be pleased if anyone could update them with some less speculative figures.

Anyway, putting the question of the shirt sales myth aside I feel very strange about this whole signing. Reading Ibrahimovic's tweet I just feel totally diconnected, like he's signed for some other team or like someone has signed him for United on a computer game. Like a kind of out-of-club experience. Hard to describe.

It's strange of us letting the player break the news. I know a lot on here gave Chelsea and Hazard stick for that

But it's a different time now. Its Mourinho/Ed rather than Fergie/Gill. Kind of like the conservatives rather than Labour. Things are going to get done differently. If their way brings equal success, then bring it on

Yeah but that's all hypotheticals. He scored 60%, 3 out of his 5 league goals for us within two games. we've made that mistake before with Rooney, we definitely shouldn't do it with an 18-year old.

If he shows that he can improve on that under a different regime then Mourinho will find a way to fit them both in which shouldn't be difficult considering that Ibra and Rashford are polar opposites and should compliment each other quite well.

Not sure how apposite tory / labour analogy is - think you might be suffering from post-Brexit news overload!

I don't know how much of it is to do with the fact the news was broken by the player - probably a bit since it kind of figures United as a kind of backdrop to the epilogue of The Zlatan Story. But I think there's more to it than that. It feels less like announcing the signing of, say, Ruud van Nistelrooy than it does like announcing a big new shirt sponsorship deal. For a brief moment I thought this might be what it feels like to be a UAE era City fan.

He was very tired at the start of the Euro 2016. He has recently retired from the NT.

2015/16: he played 66 games with Sweden & PSG not to mention the fact he is never substituted during a game because he hates that.
2016/17: no games with Sweden & no Champions League. He will have more rest periods and play less games.

So, I'm confident.

Wardrobe.
Hopefully his medical and contract goes through without any hitch. Then we can move on to finalising Mkhitaryan. It would be the perfect day tomorrow if there is some sort of confirmation on Mkhitaryan, like a transfer agreement with Dortmund, then hopefully we can confirm that transfer on Monday as I think it's unlikely to get confirmed on Saturday or Sunday.

Very exciting news to see him confirm this today. I don't think we can really go wrong here with the free transfer. He's still quality.

himself over the club, one of the reason i am reluctant to support the move.

Great signing. On free too.

I don't know why some of you are complaining, it's a free transfer. What do we have to lose?

He doesn't look that sluggish in this video to me.
Because of his brilliant technique and stride, he can 'cover' ground/get in front of defenders really well. He's probably faster than Rooney off the ball too lol (on the ball no question).

That's because he's only 34 in the video. At 35 he will only be able to jog at a semi-brisk pace at best.
I read a study here on the caf that concluded that the actual physique of a player is completely irrelevant to how fast they are or how many games they can play, it's the age and only the age that matters. Unless you're not Zlatan of course, then it's very individual.

Also, every player in the PL runs much faster than all the players in the rest of the world. Especially the CB's which are just littered with ex 100m sprinters which obviously makes scoring goals impossible. A fact proved by Mata being United's 2nd best goal scorer since he arrived.

There are still wages, and I bet signing fee will be in the category of 10m pounds range.

And a nice big lump sum for Raiola as well for his troubles.

No transfer for a player this high profile is ever truly free.

Getting a few sponsor deals with the Zlatan hype to cover the wage should be easy. Zlatan brand is still very much popular out there.

I cant wait the expressions of our level headed youths in martial and rashford looking at Zlatan tearing people up and going for the throat and be at his usual devil may care mood. This gonna be hilarious. Good exposure that.

The benefit to Rashford and Matial is enough to dream again let alone the goals Zlatan will bring I love this signing.
