I know we've all been saying it for ages, but surely it's just a matter of time.

With it being a world record deal there but be loads of paperwork and technicalities to sort, also Pogba has had a very long season and is enjoying his 3 weeks off.

If he's due back in Juventus for training on Monday, then surely this will be sorted one way or another before then.

My guess is as soon as he's back off holiday he'll be signing for us.

What is the reason for the delay?

He's still on holidays
Not wanting to PR bomb Rooney's testimonial
Contract not complete
Having second thoughts
Had head turned by Madrid
Staying at Juve

Have I missed something? Silence is rarely good news so something must be up.

Just watched the video. To be fair, Pogba could easily just have said "We'll see" instead of "Yes, Yes".

I still think he'll come to United but I can see why that video might make a few people question if this is happening.

But when I think of Di Marzio and David Amoyal being so sure on this, as well as people from Bein Sports, then if he DOES stay at Juventus a lot of very credibe journos won't ever have the same reputation again.

What's funny about that?
We have a player, involved with 2 clubs and nobody is saying anything. This is the sort of thing which happens when a player is not leaving or the player/clubs are not sure.
If/when a player is leaving, he usually starts singing the praises of the new club he wants to move to, which he hasn't.

Also, the continuous "he will sign in x hours", which is tweeted almost everyday is getting tiresome.
Bale had a long (World Record) transfer saga, but he made it absolutely clear that he wanted to move. It was made clear that Bale wanted to leave Spurs. And that Spurs were happy to sell for the right price.
This has not been case with Pogba.

On the other side of the argument we have Di Marzio saying that the deal is done.
We also know that Pogba has been signing MUFC jerseys.

The rumour was that he would sign last Friday. Many muppets swore blind to this time table, laid down by a journalist. Once the deadlilne passed, the same muppets started interpretting the same tweet in a different way, to suit their hypothesis.

Personally, I think there is a more than 50% chance that Pogba will come to MUFC (there is too much smoke/noise about that move), but the player is not signed and like we saw with DDG, last minute hitches can put an end to a transfer.
If you can't see through the bs and realise he is signing, that's your own problem. We have had no links to any other midfielders whatsoever. The only problem here that i can see is the fact he is on holidays and people are doing their nut because he hasn't signed yet. In reference to Bale, maybe Pogba isn't a drama queen like Bale. Maybe he has more respect for his club that is paying his wages. Ever think of that? Juventus just spent the whole Pogba fee on Higuain, yet people think they can afford it. Now that is hilarious. But good luck with your pessimism. You have being like that in every single post of yours in this thread.

That would be an excellent stage to announce it, to the fans in from of a packed OT.

Is OT likely to be packed for Rooney's testimonial?

Think it's fair to say the thread has felt relatively flat these last few days. Now tensions are all of sudden raising again.

If Pogba was staying, do you not think Juventus would have made an announcement about it by now?
They're not going to let something drag on when the player himself wants to stay? If he genuinely weren't leaving, this would be wrapped up by now with a Juventus message saying Pogba isn't going anywhere, and United would have moved on to their next target and the press would have picked up on it by now.
None of that has happened. We've not moved on to another player (the press hasn't said anything about it) and Juventus hasn't said anything about Pogba wanting to stay

and no one has even started walking back or hedging. In fact Amoyal came out and said it changed nothing. People like Romano/Amoyal constantly have to reaffirm people it's done because they get like 30 tweets a minute for updates. They've had numerous opportunities to walk back the story, yet haven't.

If he did stay at Juve the the like of Di Marzio, Keys will simply say the deal was effectively done and Woody fecked it up or dithered on paying agent fees.

Basically they will have a get out should it fail.

This thread is no place for logic mate. It'll fall on deaf ears. The WUMs are just having their fun, but the people who genuinely believe the worst cannot be convinced. Very odd behaviour.

I doubt that, they've all said it's done just pending signatures, which means that the agents fee/club fees etc are done. If it failed now, they could just say Pogba changed his mind, but if i remember rightly, they themselves said that Pogba has given United a personal promise to return or something like that

The bale saga blows this one out of the water it went on for about 2 months and relax Jose came out and said were relaxed so chill it's done Pogba just needs to finish his holiday then he'll fly to Manchester.
I'm relaxed I'm just also a bit fed up with it. You can't go on anything football related without hearing 'news' about Pogba. When the news will be he had some toast for his breakfast and then he's going playing basketball or something.

Exaggerating much ? It won't take him long to be fully fit, between 2-3 weeks.
The other week a large portion of this forum said because of the lack of matches in our pre season, all the players will be unfit. Is Pogba superhuman?

it's been discussed to death. It's a non-story, just like the MUFC fans getting hints that he was coming. He's being diplomatic to everyone.
Yep. If he wanted to say anything he would have week/s ago. So in that position, he said what you would expect

There HAS to be something fishy going on.....Deal should never take this long and he's clearly hanging on to the hope of playing for Real or surely he would have signed and been training for Mourinho by now. I'm thinking this ends with him either signing for Real or signing a new contract at Juve with some kind of buyout clause or unofficial agreement to sign for Real next year.

It amazes me that people see a tweet from hours ago and think "that won't have been posted yet".

Bale to Madrid took months of negotiations.

"Deal should never take this long"

I really have to ask, what time reference to you use to assume things like this? How do you quantify the number of days a saga has gone to infer a position either way?

It boggles my mind.

Or it's all agreed, pending the completion of his holiday after which he'll head over for his medical and contract signing ceremony.

As was mentioned before, you have to love it when the Italian press, who know their stuff with Juventus, report it's pretty much done pending signatures and the English press ignore them. Yet 2 random guys confront Pogba in the street and ask him questions, and Pogba, being diplomatic, answers them and this is news worthy and definite confirmation that he's staying.

I challenge the Pogba transfer saga crack whores on here who keep coming back for more to go until Monday without visiting/watching this thread. Cold turkey is the only way forward. And to make sure we hold to this rule there needs to be a tangible threat/punishment from the mods. Like a thread ban or even a forum ban for some time...

What do you say? Mods can you make it happen?

Perhaps a pole so that people can sign up to the challenge and it would make it easier to dish out the temporary bans as their names will be registered against the pole.

It amazes me that people see a tweet from hours ago and think "that won't have been posted yet".
and this.. I think everyone wants to be known for "breaking the news".

Gazzetta Dello sport actually responded to this video and reaffirmed that it was a nothing comment and that nothing has changed. Even the professional italian media call out a non-story. Yet the fecking english press spam this fecking shit all over twitter.

I have to confess I don't watch a lot of European football, although I'd have been delighted to sign Kante (for a third of the price) and Matic would be a great buy as well.

I'm not saying Pogba's a bad player, that's clearly not the case. I just think that with a budget of £100m there must be some alternatives.
Kante and Matic are nothing like Pogba or as good now never mind in the future. They don't really play the same position either. Both are defensive minded Pogba is more attacking.

Out of every twist and turn we've had in this saga, I've gotta say that Pogba interview worries me the least. Pure bollocks and I'm amazed some papers are running it.
