I've missed just about everyone else's preseason (except ours and Madrid v Chelsea, city v Arsenal yesterday) in fairness. When did that score line happen?
Yesterday.

Nah, I think Barca had a strong team out, unfortunately.
KM just gave me the other results vs Mainz, so I'm clearly wrong though. The silence has nothing to do with the 4-0 score line :D
Yesterday.
Thanks KM.

*heads off to his whatsapp group which has a few of pool supporting mates who gave it good after the Barca result*

Why is everyone patting him on the back for refusing to speak with the Sun? If it was Hillsborough related he would have done it long ago. Like he hinted, he did it because they're probably working on some sleazy personal attack piece. While that's more than reason enough to refuse to speak to them, it's not exactly a rock solid moral stand - "You can lie about Hillsborough all you want but I draw the line at this latest story your working on."

Liverpool should just ban them for good.

Beat Barca 4 nil = Yay Klopp is the bestest, preseason definitely matters, the league is ours!

Get beaten 4 nil by Mainz = Meh it's only preseason / pretend it never happened. La.

I saw half the LFC vs. Barca game. LFC were impressive. But it took most of what I saw to realise Gnasher was actually on the park.

When did Lionel go messily blonde & beard-wise he looked like he had been sleeping on the street for a month. Barca made & missed a couple of very good chances even while being overrun. LFC won't want to see Klavan playing too many games if I were them.

Didn't see the video but he really said that? That's quite unbelievable tbh.

Yeah I'm not basking in the score , just the performance which by any standard was as you say impressive . But the business starters on Saturday .

 No! That was my quote showing what the stance implied. He's had no problem speaking to them all through last season but only drew the line when they started working on a story he didn't like.

Surely that quote which kps88 posted is a bit off. Any news can't be worse than Hillsborough.
Here's the actual quote:

“I don't talk with The Sun anymore. I don't speak with The Sun anymore. You can listen.

“It's not because I'm with Liverpool now. It's because of a few things that will happen in the next few days or few weeks, I don't know.

“It's not personal. You're still working for The Sun, right? That's it. You can listen and then you can write what you want.”

That's not really true though.

The story is out, I believe. It's to do with Lovren's wife having an affair. Or at least I think it's out and that's what it is!

A ban would be great. Better yet if everyone just bans them.

It was a private matter that should've stayed private. It's something I'd get behind, regardless of which team (and manager) is involved.
The lives of celebrities are never private. See Sir Ryan of Shagging.

It was Barca's third game of preseason and Liverpool's eighth.
True, we played well but they were well behind in their preparation. At the end of the day I think most LFC fans admit we enjoyed the win and maybe to a degree got carried away, it was Barcelona after all.

As for Mainz I never understood why we arranged a fixture less than 24 hours after the Barca game, seemed odd. We got beat playing a weaker team. Neither game really means anything other than preparing for the league season.

All that melodrama and it was about an affair
I don't think there was actual melodrama, some on here just used the incident to argue that Klopp does everything to make Liverpool fans adore him or to draw attention to his own persona, as per usual.

A manager can speak to whomever he wants to at his own pressers. Not answering a journalist is nothing special imo regardless of the reasons behind it.
