Not sure what yellow card offence it could possibly be. Unsporting behaviour?
It's clearly violent conduct which is a red card and 3 match ban.

He won't be banned. Hart put his head into a ref's forehead a couple of seasons back; the same ref sent off Di Maria for pulling on his shirt

On one hand he should get banned for this, it's blatant and dangerous. On the other, I hope he doesn't, because I want us to win the derby with them at their best. If they're better than us then they're better, but I don't want to beat City without their best attacker.

Couldn't give a shit whether it was the Derby next or not, he deserves a 3 game ban for what he's done and them missing their best player for 3 games is great!

We would laugh if this was posted on RAWK.

We aren't obsessed with history at United(with one filled with both triumph and tragedy) but more about making history.

This is just cringeworthy.

This is merely an important 3 point game in the league, not some 135 year point scoring exercise.
Fair enough, maybe I did sound a bit stuck in the past. What I am saying is that there is a pride to beat the best team the opponent team can bring on, and it's also important to gauge the club's level in an objective way. A win over a City without Aguero does not taste the same. We will see anyway, all this talk is useless if the referee does say that he saw the challenge but didn't think much about it. Then the FA has technically no say into it.

Sometimes it's better the fight the monster we know than the ones we don't. So wouldn't mind to beat them with him in the team at least they won't have any excuses and we will know exactly what level we are at

Bloody hell, Aguero. I can't stand the little scrote but I was looking forward to us being properly tested against City and Aguero, no matter how horrible of a git he is, is probably the best forward in the league and always shows up against us. I wanted both United and City to have their best possible 11's for the spectacle, but it's his own fault so no use complaining.

If that is a ban Fellaini would never play again
As always with your snide digs at United, your politeness is off the scales.
I want to beat them with him playing for them.

IF we weren't playing against them I'd love him to get banned.
I didn't know you were a United fan!

Find it strange that there are so called professionals saying that it was not violent. Clearly was. I do get that a) Ref being incompetent and saying he saw the incident and didn't think anything of it, thus tying the FA hands b) Or the FA not deeming it violent enough to warrant a review as they seem inconsistent. As such wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't banned.

Personally - am not all for the romanticism for beating their best team, so will be glad if he gets (rightly) banned.

I don't care if he's banned for the derby or not but i would like to see the FA showing some consistency. And for those who argue the elbow didn't make connection that argument won't hold as the rules punish for the intent as well. Scholes was red carded and served a three match ban for a swinging at Xabi Alonso and he was far from connecting.

LOL, yes I remember that one. That ref sent off Smalling, in that game, too.
It doesn't bother me though, I hope Aguero does play - it'll be all the more sweeter when we beat them.

Somewhere they can't find me.
How is this any different from the Fellaini elbow against Huth last season ?It's even worse if you consider Reid wasn't pulling Aguero's hair or anything.
Violent behaviour with no provocation. If this was Fellaini, they'd have butchered him by now.

I have mixed feelings about him getting banned against us. One one hand it would definitely handicap City and give us better chance of winning it, on the other having him play would test our defence for the first time and a win would be even sweeter with Citizens not having the ban as an excuse to hide behind.

How much do you think you would remember the taste of a win without Aguero if and when we are 2pts ahead going into the final league game of this season?

I don't get this "I'd rather play City with Aguero" stuff. I'd sooner United have 6 minor injuries from internationals, 3 retrospective suspensions, an illness, and a refusal to play.

It's bank holiday, I'm sure the big cheeses at the FA are having a tax-funded day off somewhere nice. Bless em.

Don't expect anything on this until Wednesday/Thursday, they'll dither for a few days over their tea and biscuits like the dinosaurs they are.

I completely agree at the end of the season if the title race comes down to 2-3 points then I won't look back on this game and think well we only won because Aguero was missing. It would be foolish of Utd fans not to fear what Aguero can do against us so I'm hoping that justice is served.

Class player but has a nasty streak in him. A ban would benefit us hugely and if it helps us get 3 points then why wouldn't any United fan want it.

No surprise to see him being defended by the usual suspects.

This.
feck the "moral victories" of defeating City of beating at their full strength. I'd just take the three points.

I saw it happen live (not at the game) and I honestly didn't think there was anything in it at the time. Retroactively he should get a ban, but I really doubt he will. Just gut feeling they will play the pity card over the INT break.

This.

Beating City in the Derby in two weeks would be such a huge result, for both teams potentially, and Augero being banned greatly improves our chances of winning.

Who cares if City will use it as an excuse if they lose?

I think he'll get a ban. Not bothered about moral victories anymore than they are. There's never any disclaimers with wishes or losses. Just the result.

I obviously want him to be banned. If I could see the future and a guarantee win with him in the squad, then great, but as I can't I'd much rather play City without him.
Will he be banned? He surely must be. If he isn't, the FA would look stupid and inconsistent.

Yeah I'm sure that come May, should we win the title, we'll miss the sense of achievement of winning the title ahead of City because on September 10th they played without Aguero.

This thread is pure lunacy.

Aguero has scored 8 goals in his last 9 games against us. But some want him to play just so the can brag to their friends about besting City with Aguero.:wenger:

Are you the ref?
Considering they banned Fellaini for the last 3 games of last season when he elbowed Huth (who was pulling his hair at the time), surely they have to ban him.
