I didn't accuse them, they flat out made a WR booze ban up last season and tried to beat it up for attention (among a few other weird things) but were laughed away last season. They have zero credibility really. You accused RI of making stuff up. I'm saying the quote in that tweet is genuine.
Not debating that. Just talking about the content of that tweet. They did not make that up.I didn't accuse them, they flat out made a WR booze ban up last season and tried to beat it up for attention (among a few other weird things) but were laughed away last season. Agreed. He finally gets dropped which will supposedly make everything better and now he's injured and not even playing and still gets venomous bilge trotted out on here.
I honestly thought I was getting pretty filthy at the start of last season at him but I eventually came on here and read some of the complete drivel being trollied out on a regular basis and was gobsmacked. The same users over and over posting the same circular rubbish and everyone else falling over themselves to pat each other on the back for it. It's incredibly weird in my opinion.
He's being used sparingly, contributing to good things when he gets the playing time and I think that is all people can ask for. It couldn't be a better situation for some of the people who are so desperate to moan about him relentlessly. Yet still the same gabbing on and on trying desperately to conjure up something to whinge about. He'll more than likely not be signing a new deal at a year to go in his contract (though it wouldn't surprise me if some of the ambassadorial clauses in his contract keeps him at the club somehow) and will probably go on a free to Everton but until that happens I don't know why people go out of their way to recycle the trash bags for attention on here.
Didn't Red Issue look like complete twonks after trying to claim booze ban last year? What a bunch of munters who run that ridiculous site.
So what did you expect from the Wayne Rooney camp? To come out and own up to his misdemeanours? As far credibility goes, both sides can be accused of having their own agendas, so it's it matter of which one you want to believe.I didn't accuse them, they flat out made a WR booze ban up last season and tried to beat it up for attention (among a few other weird things) but were laughed away last season. His wages aren't stopping us from signing anybody. This isn't a video game.If/when the club lets him go, you just wonder who the club will bring in with the wages available...
I mean, if we stuck another 100k on his weekly wages, which we could easily do, you're looking at being able to offer £350,000 a week - think about the type of player that could bring in.
That said, I find myself hoping that he gets the record and then moves on peacefully.
He's brought some great memories to us at United, and he's contributed massively to one of the club's true 'golden eras'.
Anyone actually know what's currently keeping him out? Injury wise?
Been out handing presents to kids all over the world. Needs a break
Seriously though he always picks up injuries every season that causes him to miss blocks of 3-4 games minimum.
Was a thigh injury but back in training

Rooney is the best sub we could get. He doesn't complain and is still the consummate team player. He'd already have the record if he hadn't given away two penalties in order to boost the confidence of this teammates.
We already have one of the largest wage bills in the world at £232m. That's up from £215m the year before. Wage limits haven't stopped us from buying anyone and nor will they. Our wage to turnover ratio is extremely healthy."This isn't a video game" = we have absolutely no wage structure limits?
Odd logic there, mate.
I think the notion of keeping Rooney as a sub on 250,000k a week wouldn't sit too well with the club's money men, it's bad business.
While we could probably afford to sign a 300,000 a week attacker and keep Rooney, I would imagine it's not too likely.
I think Rooney's departure will equal the signing of a player who'll effectively take over his wages, could be wrong, time will tell.

Last fiscal year our wages/turnover ratio was 45%, some 6% short of the <51% golden figure clubs aim for.
To put that into perspective, that's £30.9m/year available. If we assume Pogba and Zlatan are on the reported £220k each that still leaves us £8m a year to play with on last years accounts, this year's are expected to be higher again and should we get UCL, the future revenues are going through the roof.
It's not an ideal situation but we're not in a position where we have to shift Rooney before we can bring another high earner in.
There's plenty other dead wood that will be shifted first, Schneiderlin, Depay, Young, Darmian, Schweinsteiger is minimum £25m a year we can .
Money really isn't an issue for us. I really have not understood why fans are always so obsessed with getting "deadwood" off the wage bills. It's not like their presence is restricting us in the transfer market or in terms of offering anyone wages or even with FFP.The amount we couid save in players we don't really need/want to sell is mad, Rooney, Schweinstegier, Schniederlin, Depay, Young, Fellaini, and Darmian, all players we could live without, would save upward of £1 million per week, and generate £60-70 million in transfer fees, if shift them, get the CL money, and safeguard the Adidas money, we'd be laughing.

Sorry but this is such a pitiful comment. He'd already have the record if he hadn't given away two penalties in order to boost the confidence of this teammates.
Why else do you think he handed the ball over for those two penalties?Sorry but this is such a pitiful comment.
Why else do you think he handed the ball over for those two penalties?
Imagine it was any other footballer and not somebody you have an irrational hatred for.
Doesn't matterYou know what I mean! Bastian should leave asap and he's not going to sell Rooney in this window. God, imagine using those wages on dybala/Icardi and weigl/verratti all players on an upward curve. Out squad with look insane while right now we are spending about the same on wages on two squad players who aren't really being used much.
i happen to agree with you on this one, although I think it may also be because he doesn't want to break it from 12 yards. Why else do you think he handed the ball over for those two penalties?
Imagine it was any other footballer and not somebody you have an irrational hatred for.
First of all I don't have any hatred for anyone let alone an irrational hatred which seems to be the go to call a poster that is not a fan boy of Wayne Rooney. So please pipe down there. Why else do you think he handed the ball over for those two penalties?

I'm not looking forward to see him back. People say that he is not starting these days, but he always comes on from the bench. Mourinho's subs were spot on these last few games and that won us games, if Rooney was available he would have came on instead of Mata or Rashford in the last 2 games for sure.
He's going to limp over the line and break Sir Bobby's record playing with second stringers against weak sides in the Cups isn't he.
Personally, I want him to break the record. How gutting would it be for him if he doesn't break it? In any case this has to be his last season with us.
I look at it differently. Does he really deserve the record more than Sir Bobby?
He is not the best sub we could get, because he is not that good. You want good players as subs too.His wages aren't stopping us from signing anybody. This isn't a video game.

Well, you've no evidence to suggest he didn't get a booze ban...Where as, there is plenty of evidence to suggest he probably did, as he got Christmas booze bans before.
Also, while we're at it, this quote isn't from Red Issue. It's from The Times
