Not Premier League but refs should be complimented every now and again...

Great spot.
Thought there was a clear case of offside at normal speed, clear offside on the first replay then saw the ref got it right on the second replay, so it was fantastic refereeing to get that right on first and only viewing, at full speed and from the angle he had. A good reminder that refs have only one look at an incident from the angle they have so fair play to the ref for getting that right.

Referee should be made to answer for their bad calls. How is the standard and consistency going to be high if all they do is get a slap on the wrist and write it off as shit happens.

I missed the start of the game, tuned in a few minutes before the red. I thought the second yellow was kind of soft, but feck me, the first one was softer.

Joke of a ref that doesn't have any common sense. Ruining a game by sending off a player with two soft as feck yellows. He's awful

Hazard goes down at every contact, his gf is lucky.

Would like to get some neutral's views on this - fair red card?

My 1st post in the mains! Feeling proud!

But the level of refereeing in England this year is very very poor! How on earth can you send off a player, in such a very important game, for two soft fouls!!!

The ref wanted to hand a card out and unfortunately Herrera was stupid enough to provide that. I am not even sure if Oliver knew that Herrera was on a yellow already, but he paid for several fould other players made. Did he kill the spectacle? Yes. Was the foul good enough for a yellow? No.

Herrera sent off for two minor fouls today and last weekend Arter was warned twice after his first booking. Must be frustrating as feck for the players when there's absolutely zero consistency.

Biggest problem is they are a protected species. A manager risks a fine or a ban if he opens his mouth. Managers are not even allowed to vent frustration at obviously wrong decisions. The ref never has to explain himself or is never pressed on a decision. There's got to be a proper panel that breaks down the games and decisions and deems ref's fit or unfit the next game. With a proper, accountable system plonkers like Oliver would be getting every other weekend off!

And Oliver sends off another one of our players in an FA cup game. Absolute waste of space.

We've lost just two F.A. Cup matches in the past three seasons. Both matches "refereed" by Oliver, both matches we've had a man sent off. Coincidence?

All trhe nonsense spouted by Shearer and Redknap about Herrera "giving Oliver a decision to make"-at least 6 other players "gave him a decision to make" and his decison every time was not to brandish yellow-where is the consistency we all ask for?

Another example of the fecking piss poor refereeing in England this year.
Cahill hauls down Rashford from behind....... No yellow.
Herrera clips hazard who goes down with more relish than a starving tramp on a plate of chips and second yellow.
Nothing will be done because apparently that is all ok but it's a fecking joke.
I don't think Oliver is corrupt, just massively massively incompetent.

Thought they were both very borderline calls for yellow cards but you really think he'd get a final warning. Admittedly it was Hazard again getting fouled which maybe stood out to the ref as intentional fouling.

Think José weakened the point about the referee being harsh on us by mentioning 3 previous penalties against us by Oliver, off the top of my head they weren't wrongly awarded penalties for Watford, Everton or Liverpool.

Jones commits a load of fouls so he sends Ander off. How does that make any sense?
Book Jones if he oversteps the mark his fouls should have no bearing on Ander's disciplinary record.
It's like a cop pulling you over and arresting you because your mate is drunk.

What ethnicity am I in this scenario?

The first booking was very soft.. What should he do vanish? But ok he gets a yellow but stretching after the ball (mind you not kicking or tripping) and that serial diver Hazard falling dramaticly over is never a yellow. He didn´t book Chelsea players for pulling our players down but because he felt Jones had done a bit much to stop Hazard he carded Herrera :wenger:..

This is just like that Di Maria card v Arsenal.. One week players can run at you yell and pull you the next match they can´t..
Herrera has been red carded twice this season both for nothing challenges but when he did deserve a red card he didn´t get it. Oliver is a joke of a ref and I knew this would happen when I saw that was going to be the official for this match.

This game was lining up to be a great FA Cup match until that moment Oliver made himself the star player..

The second one wasn't even a foul though, Herrera was protecting his stance behind Hazard who proceeded to turn into him and dive. You can blame Herrera for being too close knowing it's Hazard but even that would be pushing it, how else is he supposed to play, give him all the space in the world for fear of a dive? Oliver bottled it big time.

Of course it's a foul.

It was never a straight yellow on it's own merit though.

Herrera paid the price for a series of cynical fouls on Hazard.

Of course? All I saw was Herrera protecting his stance behind Hazard, and actually trying to remove his foot once he realized the dive was already in progress even before Hazard's foot had touched him.
