Rarely injured and rarely has a bad game. Another solid performance. Glad to have him in our squad.

I'll never accept that him as a first choice CB option but he was very goos tonight. His reading is fantastic

Excellent tonight not sure why he dropped 10 yards behind everyone at one point but played very well.

So far more useful squad player than Smalling, Jones and Shaw combined.

He's just there when you need him.

Brilliant once again.

I prefer him to Calamity Jones and Smalling, and so should Mourinho.

Hes a great player. Not genetically blessed (other than looks lol) with height or pace, but a still superb footballer and reads the game beautifully. Players like this tend to have long careers.

I have a feeling we will be following the recent premier league trend of playing with a back 3 next season and if so that will allow blind to shine.

Consistently good, consistently underappreciated. Throw him in anywhere and he just does a job. The sooner we tie him down for longer the better.

Yup, that's my favorite United player alright

If we and Ajax go through, the final will be a special occasion for him. Hope he gets to start..

I love him and I'm not talking about the way he looks.

So calm, so intelligent and such a sweet left foot.

Our ball playing is so much better with him in the team. Should be a viable option against non attacking/threatening teams.

TBF to him, except for the rustiness after coming on against Anderlecht which resulted in an equaliser, hes been really solid / good at CB again. Bailly covering him helps him push and press at times.

I agree with this. I thought that would suit Carrick, but against teams that park the bus, etc, Blind at CB is something we should look at.

Solid again. Would love for him to be tried in the holding role at some stage.
I've given up on that dream to be honest. He'll probably have to return to Ajax to play in midfield. Guardiola would love him in that role but no way we're selling him (or anyone else) to City!

Yeah your probably right, would love to see him end his career here. Been solid from the minute he joined us. John o sheaesque. Every team needs a john o shea.

Everytime he gets the ball, I know it's going to be a good pass. I want him as holding midfielder where his size is less important. If the guy had bailly's physical atributes, he would be a monster.

He was very good yesterday, especially considering Bailly was a little all over the place at times. His passing and ability to find pockets of space from the back works really well, and we build better from the back with him and Romero in the side. I don't think his passing works as well in midfield as he does take a while to execute a pass.

Daley gets a lot of stick on here for the lack of pace and the fact that he made a couple of slip-ups when returning into the side. But you cannot deny that his passing ability from the back is absolutely tremendous and really helps us to set up attacks and dictate the pace of games. He's great at rushing out to intercept passes, pressure players and make tackles. His versatility is a huge asset to the squad, and he seems to have a brilliant temperament about his place within the squad. He offers us something very different to any of our other center backs.

After this summer, we hopefully make the kind of signings that mean that Daley is mostly seen coming on as a sub or replacing rested/injured players every now and then, but I don't mean that to sound like I don't like or appreciate him and what he gives the squad. He'd be a starter in a mid-table team, but for us, he's worth a lot to us as a squad player. I'd absolutely keep him around for as long as he's useful.

Think he's a superb player, would love to see him move in to midfield as Carrick gets phased out. Think he'd make an excellent quarterback DM, knows how to defend too.

Utility players like him are often underestimated, I hope he stays at United. People talk about his lack of pace/height, but he rarely lets United down. In recent weeks he has been very valuable with all the injuries United have had to contend with.

Love the underhanded compliments on here, utility player and squad player. He comfortably outperformed Bailly yesterday, if one of them is a squad player and another the cornerstone of our defense, I don't know which is which.

It makes you appreciate his professionalism and ability a lot more, when you consider that he's been playing with the knowledge that his manager doesn't rate him as a central defender. It'll be a travesty if he leaves before either Jones or Smalling.

Yes, but that was one match. Bailly has been comfortably the better player throughout the campaign. I'm not a big Blind fan, and I don't think he would work well in midfield simply due to him taking too long on the ball. However, he has been good lately, and long may it continue. Our defense looks better in possession with him and Romero.

It wouldn't. Smalling's had more good games as a CB than Blind has, but Blind can also play lb and cdm. Jones may well leave this summer, but he also had a very decent stint.

I've never understood why one has to elevate one player by downplaying another. Blind was good on his own yesterday.

Blind can play in Carrick's role. He has enough attributes to do that.

Even if another player is bought to replace Carrick, Blind can deputize for such a player if the player is that much better than him.

If the Eric Dier rumours are true, I am wondering why Jose would prefer Eric to Blind.
I agree with this. His understanding of the game and positional awareness will negate his lack of speed and physicality.

Best reader of the game we have and the natural successor to Carrick if we want a DM to play in front of the back four.

He also has great left foot passing out of the back.
