Didn't want to come to this thread, I've been a very vocal critic of him and always maintained that he's not the player we should even have in our squad, let alone playing in a European Cup final because of the type of football we play in order to utilize his strengths. Having said that, he had a near flawless game in Sweden, did not put a foot wrong.
Would still want us to sign a #6 and a #8 next season and see him play very little football.

He is our Liam Neeson, he has a very specific set of skills and can be important against the pressing sides.

Except for that one time he gave away that stupid penalty, he's been very reliable for us this season. And he was simply superb in the Europa finals. Pleased with him this season and he deserves a place in our squad.

I'd be more than happy if we keep him on as a squad player. I just don't want to see him as an integral member of the first 11 like he has this season.

He's a good player, most definitely premier league quality. But he shouldn't be starting games on a regular basis for a club looking to win Premier league and Champions league titles/cups.

If you were a platoon leader in a war situation, would you want a soldier who says and means this redeployed to another platoon even if he is not as skilled as some other less committed guys in your platoon?

What a way to finish a season for Marouane!

He had it rough at the start but picked himself up. If I were to rate our players based on the last 3 months, he has to be top three or four for me. No doubt about it.

Time to change that avatar for a better one in honour of his flawless performance?

Referring to that quote, just had a thought. Is Fellaini Uniteds Materazzi? I remember watching the two in very tearful embrace in the street after their triumph in CL.

2 yrs ago you couldn't sell him even on loan, now I think he is a 25-30 million player.

A player with limited technical ability could not do this. Not the first he's done this too.

This is why I get a bit pissed off when people say he's all shoulders, head and chest.

When a large section of our fans booed him the next week and wanted him sold for giving away a penalty? Yeah that was embarrassing. Probably the most embarrassed I've ever been as a United fan.

I just don't know what to do with myself
He's been a solid performer this season. If people don't want him for systematic football reasons then fair enough but he deserves credit and respect for how he's managed himself during rough times at the club. Clearly a guy with the right mindset.

SAF was very good at getting decent performances out of average players. Jose also has the knack. But he's still an average player.

A shame he can't get decent performances out of our 'good players'.
Like who? I'd say nearly all our players performed to the level they're at this season.

Zlatan, Mata, Herrera, Valencia, Rojo, De Gea, Romero, Fellaini, and Darmian have all had good seasons. And Pogba, Mkhi and Bailly have had their moments. First season and all that.

Unless you're referring to Shaw, Smalling, Martial etc. IMO those players just can't do any better and there's a good chance they might be sold. They had their chances and failed to impress. Smalling was decent in the final, I'll give him that.

Moyes must have had the knack too when he got him in team of the season lol football genius
My kids absolutely love him. Where's 'Silly Hair, Daddy?' can be heard most match days in our house. Can't imagine anyone else putting him in their team of the season though. Vidal Sassoon? Lampshades Monthly?

Well if he did he must have left it at Everton, going off the last 4 years i think Dave would struggle to get a good season out of Messi or Ronaldo.

He wont be going anywhere. I would be very surprised if he was after that performance. Obviously has Joses trust and hard not to root for him after his recent comments.
