I have been away and so havent been posting, but all I have to say is

please god no.

Lukaku isnt a bad player or a terrible person, but really not what I would like at united
He'll be glad you've said that.

For people who talk about scoring in Big games.
Why he's talked about as some kind of flat track bully boggles my mind, it reminds me of what people said about Ronaldo when he was here and when he first signed for Real.

So, sounds like we got pissed off waiting for Madrid. At the same time (purely coincidentally) we put in a bid for lukaku and have it (supposedly) accepted.

So, if lukaku is first choice (which i think he was) why didnt we put this bid in before?

It's because lukaku had chosen Chelsea. Thats fine, makes sense. So what changed? Lukaku doesnt care if this drags on but i bet Riola does. How much you want to bet this was Riola telling utd to bid as chelsea were stalling, but actually wanting Chelsea to get their finger out.

So what will now happen is Chelsea will bid the same, lukaku will agree to go Chelsea. And when we go skulking back to madrid they'll laugh at us and demand 75m.

This could end awfully
You sir just summed up the worst nightmare that any United fan can have possibly conjured.

I would recommend you not to write any children bedtime stories. Bound to be a disastrous affair that.

He's having a medical with United and holiday with Pogba for a laugh.

But it's being reported that koeman expected lukaku back by now and they are now training at UCLA, not so much "holidaying"
Yeah it's being reported erroneously that he was due back yesterday. The reality is he's still in LA with the clubs permission because he played in the international fixtures.

They're good mates, they did the exact same thing a couple Summers ago with Depay.
Except that rest of Everton reported back for training yesterday and he's still there with Pogba. This is done.

After all the flak Rooney got for his latter career poor close ball control, I fear some posters are going to get sore fingers complaining about Lukaku's! He seems very inelegant and frankly abit rudimentary in ball skills etc.

As the Everton season ticket holder from reddit said, it seems Lukaku is crap at everything except finishing and scoring goals. Which is perfect as that's exactly what we need, but I hope we all realise that before we get on his back for it

We made the same mistake with Berbatov, criticising him for not running around like a Tevez type headless chicken, and the poor man got a complex about it, trying to become something he was not. I think it negatively impacted his game. Lets not make the same mistake with Lukaku
Excellent comment. I was a big fan of Berba, and his own - very effective - snake in the grass style.

I read he was going to have his medical in LA on Thursday night so it is presumably possible he could sign today, though being in LA it is going to be much later in the day if it happens. More likely to get confirmation tomorrow.

Yeah as soon as I saw the reason I was kicking myself for asking such a stupid question tbh, pretty obvious in retrospect.
I agree with your reasoning a ban should be a ban. In my eyes they shouldn't be allowed to sign anyone till there ban is up, sort of defeats the object if you ask me.

I was just surprised how many times atletico's transfer ban came up in a thread about us signing Lukaku

Mirallas, Williams, Gueye and himself are all still on extended holidays. He's in LA with Everton's permission.

Neil Henderson of the BBC reporting that the Lukaku deal is a £100m in total. £75m + £15m in variables plus waiving Wayne Rooney's £10m asking price.

It is why the deal happened so quickly.

Won't pay more than £66m for Morata but £100m for Lukaku. ********ing stupid.

In what world is Lukaku worth €114m

I dont think Ive ever heard a footballers first touch get discussed so much.

Who cares about his first touch when he is banging in 20-25 goals a season? He is a lump of a player who I am sure Mourinho is more focused on the number of goals he scores than the number of times he controls the ball instantly.

If he fecks up his first touch and puts it in with his second, that will do for me.

I think they did it because Perez was being an absolute twat and kept changing his mind. Can't stand around waiting for you guys to decide if you want to keep a player or not.

If we had to overpay a little to get a target who cares.

At the highest level against the top sides there will be less space, and you will get less time. Things like your first touch become important

The Griezmann thread is locked and there is no thread (as far as I could see) about Costa. Nowhere else to ask and wasnt worth starting a thread about it.

BBC isn't reporting anything like that. They say it's according to Times.

Also aren't you a Madrid fan, surely you should be happy that Morata is staying?

You're jumping to massive conclusions. Why not wait until the deal and price is confirmed before ranting on about it.

Read on Twitter that Everton still owe us 7.5 million for Schneiderlin and 7.5 million for Keane.

Spanish media were pretty consistant that we were always asking for €90m just that Man Utd refused to meet it.

Perez never changed his mind once. But enjoy Benteke 2.0. Lol

Not disputing but how can you say that very confidently?
I've spent a silly amount of time on Grand Old Team yesterday  Paul Joyce, who's very close to the Liverpool clubs confirmed he's there with the clubs consent. Could very well be that the club consented to him staying because our pre season is there.

He hasn't reported that, he just does the backpages on twitter. That figure has come from the Everton side, funny that. They also said yesterday that no deal was done with the suggestion that Chelsea were still in with a chance yet Lukaku hasn't turned up for their preseason, instead he has been hanging out in LA with Pogba and apparently has done just done a medical.

Yeah pretty much, makes sense for them too. How is the general consensus on him?

 A Real fan lecturing us on how we spend our cash. Too funny. Didn't they pay 30m for a 16 year old this window?
