I think he'll end up on the bench at Everton. He hasn't really looked after himself and his ability seems to be decreasing at an alarming rate. He was dead weight at United unfortunately.
Exactly this. I understood the dislike when he was taking up space on the pitch but now that he is leaving lets just say thank you and farewell to a utd legend and one of the best players to have ever played in the PLThe level of scorn and disdain for Rooney that I observe here at times is shocking to say the least. He is leaving for crying out loud. It's a time to remember all the good experiences and appreciate all he contributed to the club. Love or hate him, he's a United legend. The all time highest goalscorer in the club's history and despite all his flaws and mistakes, he's leaving in a dignified manner.
You have to blame rooney and stretford for that as much as the fans, his good memories and trophy winning performances have been balanced out by the sh*t he served us for major part of 4 seasons add to that his contract antics left a bad taste for many fans. The level of scorn and disdain for Rooney that I observe here at times is shocking to say the least. It'll go one of two ways.
1 - he'll carry on his decline at Everton and they'll want him out after a year or two.
2 - he's been in a rut at United for the last few years and this move will prove the kick up the arse he needed. Being back at his boyhood club will remind him why he fell in love with football, he'll dedicate to his performances and fitness & Everton will have some player on their hands.
Maybe he ordered the salad?3 - Hell get clocked at MCDonald's, but won't care.
Or 3 - he'll play better for a while due to really wanting to do well for his boyhood club through sheer force of will, but age will catch up to him after a year or so.It'll go one of two ways.

So he's failed it thenHe has passed the medical as per Sky.
There is a Rooney appreciation thread here where you can wax lyrical about him. He's leaving on a free because at the age of 31, he is finished at the highest level. The all time highest goalscorer in the club's history and despite all his flaws and mistakes, he's leaving in a dignified manner.

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing how he does tbh.
This is as relevant to his transfer as any other post. And never declare anyone 'finished' at 31. There are enough examples in football and human history to remind us that no one is finished at that age - especially not someone with the talent of Wayne Rooney. I wouldn't bet against him giving Everton a few good seasons before he finally bows out. There is a Rooney appreciation thread here where you can wax lyrical about him. The reason they are saying this is because Rooney has hung around for 2-3 years too long.Yeah, the people saying 'good riddance' and 'feck off Wayne' are frankly embarrassing.
He's our all time top scorer ffs.
6 players remain from our last Premier League winning team. De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Carrick, Valenica and Young. What?
Ah, yeah. Has to mean league title.6 players remain from our last Premier League winning team. De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Carrick, Valenica and Young.
His phrasing is bad because "a title" could mean Europa, FA Cup or any other cup. I assume he means Premier League though.
We might be paying a sum to him to end his contract early, but we wont be paying his wages weekly, otherwise he will be on loanGiven that we're part funding his wages, it would be perverse if he scores against us.
Anyway, all the best Wayne, hope you manage to bag a few goals against the other top teams.
Definitely yeah. You still have to give him credit for his behaviour.
At the club, for not being given enough opprotunnities to shine or bla bla bla. You know how footballers are, specially the likes of Rooney who had a big career, they always deluded themselves into thinking they're still good enough.Angry at who , himself ?. He alone is the reason he is finished at 31/32 . At Everton he wont start regularly and will end up going to China or US next year .
still makes no sense what so ever to pay a guy £15m to leave us. He's got 1 year left on his contract and hence we should be commanding a fee for him to leave. should be as followsWe might be paying a sum to him to end his contract early, but we wont be paying his wages weekly, otherwise he will be on loan
Because he could just sit on his contract and take up space in the squad as no one is going to be paying a fee for him and match his wages.still makes no sense what so ever to pay a guy £15m to leave us. He's got 1 year left on his contract and hence we should be commanding a fee for him to leave. should be as follows
1. leave for a fee and get a new contract elsewhere - not going to happen as you're spent
2. we'll let you leave for free and get the best possible contract as you're new club won't have to pay a penny for you as a gratitude from United
to pay someone £15m to leave us with 1 year left on his contract (and I do understand why we have to if we're asking him to leave) just seems stupid!
Have you mapped his genome or something?

Very underrated post, hats off to you sir.Goodbye scousers son
Though I never liked you at all
You had the grace to leave by yourself
Made running looking like a crawl
You couldnt even hit the woodwork
And agents whispered into your brain
They tried to set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your game
And it seems to me you lived your life
With fagsmoke in the wind
Never knowing who to pass to
I guess whoevers at right wing
And I would not mind to keep you
But we might as well get rid
Your body burned out long before
Your legend ever did
What's so overly emotinal about it?! When Scholes plays one of the charity games and scores a typical long ranger, aren't we supposed to feel happy/nostalgic/proud?! I do. Many others do. It's not overly emotional. It would be overly emotional if we sat there and cried tears of joy yeah but showing a bit of appreciation for the players you have grown up watching play is overly emotional now? Wanting Ex players to do well for other clubs when they have provided years of service to your club is overly emotional now? It's rather robotic on your part to not feel anything for the players that are a part of club's history. If you take pride in the silverware that are a part of United's history, if you enjoyed the glorious CL nights and amazing PL comebacks, you should be able to appreciate the players on an emotional level a little, even when they're gone from the club.Same, I don't really get this overly emotional stuff - maybe a slight pang of nostalgia but that's mainly linked to realising how old I am and how quickly time passes.
Sorry did that from my pocket it seemsHave you mapped his genome or something?
