Our problem has been trusting managers to buy their own trademark players. Memory is hazy but wasn't Torres, Alonso and Masch kind of thrust upon Rafa? LFC fans can correct me. Suarez was thrust upon Dalglish who had no idea who he was, while he forced the board into a corner to sign Carroll and Downing. Rodgers specifically did NOT want Sturridge and Coutinho in that transfer window yet forced the board into buying Benteke. And now Mane is Klopp's best player but not one he bought. He insisted on the Ox. FFS!

My point is our scouts, as crap as they are, outperform our managers 90% of the time. If Klopp doesn't like it maybe it's time to get that yes man. I don't mind selling top class players for top dollar as long as they are suitably replaced with the next big thing.
I think recruitment from your scouts and transfer committee has been impressive, you got sterling,Coutinho, suarez, sturridge, mane from them and all have been Liverpool's best players over time. I am not sure about torress and Alonso. I think it would be helpful for Liverpool if they sign a Head coach rather than a manager considering the record of their transfer dealings under a committee.
Ancelotti would be a good choice but i do not think Liverpool board will sack Klopp quickly enough, I am sure ancelotti would take the job in december rather than with 10 games left in the season and liverpool being out of cl and 10 points below fourth. I think the game against us will be very important for you lot. Lose that and it could be beginning of the end for klopp, win that and klopp might begin to turn things around.

Please God lets win there with an offside goal after an offensive foul, second goal with a handball and a 3rd by Pogba who will be ruled out a day before.
Plus 90 mins of 'long balls', whilst having the entire 'city of Manchester' parked in defence

The problem with these cnuts, and it is obviously gonna happen, is they will turn up and look unplayable when we face them.

Absolutely. They will play like they are the best team since dawn of time. Its what they do. Even the shite Everton turned up against us with rooney playing well. Henderson will take that mantle up and coutinho always has a game against us. They will raise their game against us no doubt. I just hope we play upto our potential and not get too emotional as that has been our undoing a lot of times.

Haha yes. I want us to beat them as ugly as possible. He'll go crazy beyond belief.
I dont get this? I hope rather than winning like that we win 3-0 with complete domination. Surely that will drive a manager more crazy than losin to an offside goal. As losing to that, he could use it as a motivational tool to lift the team or just hide behind an excuse of refs favouring the other team. A domination victory would leave no excuses and no place to hide with players blaming manager and vice a versa causing more implosions within a squad.

Jose is too shrewd by far. He'll know they'll be fired up, they need the points and the manager needs the boost to his credibility so Jose will park the bus, with pace available for the counter. Plenty of height and physical strength on any set pieces which they are very vulnerable on. Fellaini could well have a field day against the feckers. I really don't see us losing as long as we weather their usual early storm before they burn out.

Yes but it won't make a dent to your season and we'll draw the next three games. Probably our most meaningless Derby in recent times.

Of course it would make a dent. We haven't played anyone at all, so to fail against you lot in what is probably our first real test will bring the team thundering down to earth like a shot, and could serve as a potential confidence issue.

Bollocks. Even if you're looking for the worst case scenario. You beat all the teams below us, and Watford, and you'll come close to the title. Us gaining three points over you and you losing three points to us mean feck all for motivation or loss of mojo.

Dumbstar is right here.

Barring the bragging rights, a defeat isn't going to derail united as title contenders.

I'd also say, I'd like to think our players will raise their own game for this one. If they can't then you'd have to ask a few questions of them.

Common Klopp, stop trying to hide behind a finger. Journalists are paid to write just as you are paid to do your job. Your boys are not comfortable? ask them to up their game

I’ve seen him compared to Moyes and the Cookie Monster in this thread, but it’s not like we’re in a crisis. It’s just frustrating that games seem to be repeating the same patterns.

Klopp’s stubbornness surrounding his style of play will hold him back here and at other clubs he manages. He definitely needs to learn and develop just like players do.

It is clear he is losing it. It is the best time to add more misery on him. Hope jose doesn't show too much respect to their defenders. We must attack their back line as soon as possible. Get 2 goals cusion then can play with them. Just sitting back will only encourage them, please do not do that for once jose.

There's no crisis but there soon will be one.

He hasn't used those kind of stuff as a motivational tool till now it seems.

Football genius;). I'm waiting for them to be a classic game raising cnuts against us though. Hope Jose gets things right I don't feel good about because we almost scramble after the international break.

Jose did win 2 trophies and still get us into the champions league though.

Klopp coming 5th without any of the above is completely different. Not to mention that was his 2nd season and it was only Jose's first.

However, I don't think he'd get sacked, but I think the pressure would ramp up. Almost like a mini Rodgers, over performing one year, meaning what would have been alright the next year no longer is.
1. Mourinho has spent far far more than Klopp
2. United have a far higher wage bill

Therefore United have higher expectations

This is going great :)
He has been the media darling for quite a while and now they are turning on him and he's fighting back. Never a good sign for a manager, I don't think you can ever win that battle with the media.

Klopp seems to think that there's only one acceptable way to play football and anyone who doesn't play that way deserves to lose. Doesn't work like that pal.

This is unreal , I had to check if it was a spoof account
Kopp has come out with some pretty awful statements in his time managing Liverpool, but this latest one tops the lot on every conceivable level.

He has basically admitted that his players are a bunch of weak minded cowards whom cannot take criticism. I'd want him sacked tomorrow were he United manager.

Reminds me of how I felt when Moyes told the world that United need to aspire to be more like City. People really need to think before they speak.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
So, just out of interest, what would you say are the expectations for Liverpool, Tottenham and arsenal?
Spuds - Finish Top 4, manage to find the wages that Kane, Alli and Eriksen are worth in order to hang on to them all for a few seasons more, not embarrass themselves in the CL.

Arse - Top 4, EL win, get something for Sanchez when he buggers off.

Dippers - Something to do with next season, I'm guessing.

So that leaves 2 top 4 places for us, city and Chelsea. Who misses out to both spurs and arse? Chelsea? Really?

Expectations are different things.

3 Teams expect to challenge for the league.

6 Teams expect to finish in the top 4.

Those statements are true but reality is going to bite for a couple of teams in each scenario.
