Yes, exactly this. I'm hoping Sanchez's experience can help teach the younger players like Rashford and Martial a thing or two about leadership and maturity on the pitch.
Like how to laugh at your team mates misery from the bench? Or more about the stellar behaviour of the Chilean national team like poking other men in the a*** and vandalizing stadiums.:wenger:

Can’t Sanchez just buy out his contract and we sign him for nothing?
It will open can of worms. Every club will start encouraging that as cost of contract is usually less than transfer fee.
It's complicated. It may drag on if doing right, or you can end up paying more if you violate some rules not doing carefully. This whole fair market price is hard to define to begin with.

If you're going to be pedantic about this, then I'm just relieved Alexis isn't a Balotelli or a 'captain' like Gerrard who deliberately stamps on players.

Then again if Alexis gets 350/w, Pogba & co won't accept any less when extending/renewing contracts.

Overall cost means a lot for the club and wages mean the world for players.

He wont be on 350k. He will get a big signing on bonus.
And Pogba will get a lot of money regardless.

At the moment it's just Pogba and DDG who can 'demand' wages anywhere near Alexis', Pogba would be hitting such heights regardless of Alexis arrival if he continues to perform like he does.

So 35 million in fees
350 k per week is 16 million/year(for 4 years is 64 million)
5 million to the agent
10 million to sanchez

Thinking it will be 4 year deal, so 115 million for sanchez in 4 years. That comes to 29 million per season.

In comparison Griezmann who would cost 89 million on 250k/week ie 12 million per year, that is 48 million in 4 years and say agent fee + sign fees =10 million
would come out to (89+48+10) = 148 million for 4 years.

While we get a player who is prem proven, probably a better goal scorer, physically suited to prem and i think Griezmann would ask for a wage of atleast 300k, while i take in to account only 250 k/week.

I think overall deal is a very good one for us.

It always fascinates me how journalists claim to know the wages. They have no idea whatsoever and it’s pure guesswork.

I would think he will be on considerably less than £350,000 a week. Perhaps nearer £250,000.

It's not like you wouldn't eventually increase players' wage when renewing contracts. Pogba may eventually grow to be better player and deserve equal or better wage. That's no problem. Other players who can develop to same level can be welcomed. Someone like Fellaini demand high wage can be shipped while we're looking at more deal like this.

And for a club who can use the player's brand to grow, it's not big deal for expected increase in wage. For certain clubs who can't generate enough revenue themselves but taking money from certain people's pocket, they may think twice for long term wage hike in case their play thing doesn't work out the way they want quick enough.

Still wary about giving them Mkhitaryan.
Convinced there's a very good footballer there. Would be frustrating if Wenger unlocks that talent.
Give them cash and send Mkhitaryan abroad.
Wenger unlocks bollocks. Very few young players came thru the system and a manager that is famed for 'developing' players in recent years. Look at Samir nasri, rvp and very recently Ox, look at him under klopp and compare him with wenger at arsenal. Ox looks like a man possessed. Arsenals problem is not merely personnel its down due to toxic and unambitious group of yes men that they have accumulated over the years.
They can have Mikhi, he lacks that drive to succeed at truly elite level, will suit there. Just like Depay. Technique alone is not enough here. You need to have the hunger to work your ass off and go for every ball, every day and night all throughout the season, be it EFL cup or UCL.
Alexis has it, and he was very instrumental in all of their few cup wins recently. We and (citeh of course) can provide him the platform for him to be truly elite, maybe not necessarily this season with us. Can you say the same thing for Mikhi?

I can see him playing as a right sided attacker who floats around like Mata does, he's a better player than Mata though as he adds pace, strength and goals rather than simply neat and tidy play in the final third with the occasional goal here and there.

I think we'll offer him a deal in the mould of many of our other players which would be A 3 year deal with option of a 4th. That would take him up to 33 which will probably be the start of his decline physically but if he is still performing we can secure ourselves another year by activating the clause to extend. Also by the time he moves on Lukaku and Pogba will be at the peak of their powers with Martial not far behind.

It's a win win and getting a player of his caliber only shows that we still have immense pull.

Gary Neville busting the myths regarding this Sanchez deal quite beautifully here.

That tweet of Nev's is a bit flawed. He isn't going to be fighting Pogba or De Gea for a spot - which is the point Andy was making:

No way did he expect Silva, KDB, Sterling and Sane to have the season they are having. Add B.Silva to that who hasn't had much chances. Jesus due back in a couple of weeks. Sanchez needs to play and Pep will know what

It's a big surprise for me seeing our fans are still discussing whenever this is a good deal or not.

50 m pounds for a player of Sanchez caliber with 3 years of peak form is already a bargain. The wage, bonus won't make a big difference here since all the players at that level would ask for a similar package.

Mkhitaryan came to us at 26 m pound, I'd hardly argue with anyone who value him around 20 m pound now given the current performances so ~30 m pound + Mkhitaryan for Sanchez is definitely a bargain.

If Sanchez comes, one of those Martial, Lingard, Rashford, Mata, Mkhitaryan has to go. The choice is easy here, even if he stays, I don't see a much game time here for him.

Mkhitaryan is earning around 140 - 150 k/w (not the 200 k/w someone said above), cutting that off will help us a lot in balancing the books once Sanchez comes.

Arsenal if let Sanchez goes would need a replacement. Given their current status and usual transfer policy, I think they'd be very happy with Mkhitaryan.

So overall, it's definitely a good if not great deal for everyone except Mkhitaryan.

Yep. It's just another of the stupid Arsenal memes invented by the media. In recent years:

Szczesny
Gibbs
Chambers
Walcott
Ramsey
Wilshere
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Welbeck
Zelalem

All promising young players, some joining for big money, all failing to fulfil their potential under Wenger.

John cross who is very good in arsenal news, says this is how Sanchez forced the move.
The moment Chile went out of the World Cup was a game changer and Sanchez was dead set on leaving Arsenal quickly. At 29, his last shot at glory for his country was gone and he wanted to join a club with a chance of winning silverware. Sanchez also switched off in training and was petulant on the training ground - last year he was dropped at Liverpool for having a bust-up after storming off. That got worse. His levels dropped, he was the first to leave and displayed more arrogance than usual.

His goals and assists - to some that is all that matters - masked abject performances on the pitch when he hid his lack of contribution by throwing tantrums.

It was designed to show he cared but team mates felt the opposite was true. Sanchez seemed to enjoy breaking rules by going into the gym with his shirt off - and then take pictures of himself to revel in it. He never got involved in team meals, bonding exercises and kept himself to himself.

Wenger seemed nervous about substituting him. In one game, he took him off at the Emirates with ten minutes left. Sanchez stormed back to the dressing room, showered, changed and cleared off before his team mates finished the game.

If this goes through and Sanchez plays from the right, we're set with a very strong starting lineup.

Is he cup tied for Europe? Or else we can make a seriously deep run.
