they killed the deal in August with City at the last minute cos they couldn't get a replacement. Wouldn't be surprised to see that happen again
They have replacements. Aubameyang and Malcom are being pursued and this is the last window where they can receive a fee towards their purchases. It will happen, it's just a matter of cash or cash plus Mkhi.

Raiola will want us to pay out Mkhi's contract or he'll want a fee for himself out of this somehow.

" gentleman agreement". Ha ha ha. For fans, football is football . For everybody else involved, it is business that provides bread on the table. So alexis should refuse aprox.20 mil( wages, bonuses, sponsors) because he told city "i am yours"? Would jamie refuse 20 mil?
Is he that naive or just is he just stupid?
Thing people are conveniently forgetting is that the deal was off because Arsenal fell through. That deal is dead. He is not obliged to try and join them again a year later. No one does that in business.

Raiola told Dutch press Alexis is part of the Mkhi deal, not the other way around.

He can spin it whichever way he wants, but Alexis to United is big news and a very exciting move whereas Mkhi to Arsenal...meh who cares.

I was with you until the last bit. I doubt use of lower status of the club is likely to persuade the playerto move!
The player will want compensation in cash due to moving to a lower status club with lower salary.

Truth like rain don't give a feck who it falls on.
Just not having that Mkhitayran is on 200k a week, he signed a 4 year contract at Dortmund in 2013 when he signed so was probably on £70,000 a week tops back then. I'd have thought realistically he's on about £160,000 a week. If he is on 200k a week then Woodward made a huge error.
An extra 40k a week to the club is like your employer paying you an extra tenner a week. It's not really a huge error, it's an irrelevance to them.

That's EXACTLY what he is doing. He's trying to shape the narrative for his client.

Nah they banked on keeping Sanchez and him firing them to top 4. That hasnt happend. Rightly or wrongly he hasnt prodcued what he is capable of and their top 4 chances have gone whether he stays or goes. $$$ is their objective now
Better chance of catching Chelsea with Mkhi than a disinterested Sanchez too. Imagine being able to field 11 players not 10 or 9 as it is

Only issue is that it would now be absolutely moronic of them. He's so disenchanted he's not even playing - but still drawing wages. He would go for free in the summer and they're not going to make CL on the back of his contributions if he stays. Their only hope is to get some money for him and invest it in another more motivated player. Frankly, while they may want Mkhi as first option, the sensible option would be for them to grab the money and subsidize a new purchase if Mkhi refuses. Then again, it's Arsene and Arsenal so expecting sense is probably a stretch...

Raiola actively speaking out and trying to set the narrative is PR 101.

Notice how they talk about Mkhi being calm, how much contract is left. It's all about shaping the narrative as "Mkhi could have seen out his contract and looked elsewhere....but he chose arsenal".

There are little things in all of the Raiola briefings that highlight not only is he shaping the narrative, but he is actively pursuing the transfer.

IMO, we should all be fecking ecstatic right now. I think this deal is about to happen.
Yeah, I feel the same way. Mkhi will make his 'decision' very soon and we'll have our new #7.

Sanchez downed tools as soon as Chile where out of the World Cup. On top of that lots of stories coming out of a divide in the camp lot of players want him gone. Henry has alluded to this recently. It's done guys. Wenger wont let a disruptive spirit linger around

According to the BBC Woody won't sanction it without Mkhi going.
But neither Arsenal nor United will sanction the deal without Mkhitaryan travelling in the opposite direction.

The Prosecutor needs to take a leaf out of Raiola's book, get into a meeting with the Arsenal board and start throwing some chairs around.

Mkhi needs to go.. why does he want to stay when he's not wanted here anymore?

I'm sorry Mikhi but you ruined your chances here.

Do people think Raiola is thinking about anything other than securing himself as many millions as possible? This is likely his clients' last big move and he's looking to do what he always does, get paid for nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. We're not desperate to sell Mkhi, we can afford to and would happily keep him, and he would attract a fee of > £30m on the market were someone desperate to buy him, given he's got 30 months on his contract. Arsenal are going to struggle to find a better option for a similar price.
That's true. Pretty sweet deal for us.

You have to feel a little sorry for Mkhitaryan. Well as sorry as you could be for a multimillionaire who's getting paid while underperforming.

I like Jose and our ruthlessness here though. He's been given every chance to find his form, and he hasn't produced consistently. I'm waiting for his agent to say he was hard done by once he leaves United.

Still not going to be convinced we'll actually pull this off. Ruud's failed first transfer still scars me to this day.

Chelsea's nonsense interest turned out to be nonsense? Well I for one am stunned.
So what your telling me is that City's PR narrative for dropping out of the deal, and leaked to the BBC, was infact a PR narrative that City wanted the media to portray. Well I for one am absolutely SHOCKED ;)

I dont feel sorry for him at all. He's been given much more chances/time to improve than other players would have been allowed. Imagine Martial played as bad as Mhki has this season? He'd be training with the reserves!

someone posted that Hazard is their highest earner at £200k. that's all anyone with any sense needed to know that the interest was media BS. a 'battle' for a signature generates more clicks than a mere formality for United.
