He's been pretty solid for us since his time here but not spectacular. He's a good pro who is ok buit not great.

Since Jose has come in, Blind has never been a regular starter.

It would make sense to let him go as I don't think he'll feature much for Jose going forward. We have lots of cover for both LB and CB.

I would be in favour of selling.

Blind or Darmian, or both. We wont miss either

Pull the trigger. Nice clever player but way too slow and weak to be a PL defender.

He has barely played this year - not sure he needs replacing
If Bailly, Shaw and Jones weren't utter crocks yes but they are. Just because Jones and Shaw are going through some games doesn't really assuage fears of their fragility. I'd trust a Smalling Blind partnership more than Lindelof or Rojo.

Isn’t he in the last 6 months of his contract?
In that case the loan option wouldn't be available.

I never liked these loans with the right to buy thing. I think its heavily stacked towards the buyer TBH. If the player is a hit then he'll prove to be a bargain. They would probably buy him and they might even immediately sell him for a profit. If not, well, they send your merchandise back with a thank you note.

What what?
How was martial a Moyes signing? We signed him a year after he left and he was never linked to us during the Moyes tenure, and by all accounts the biggest influence was Giggs.

I like him and think he's useful squad option and he covers at least a couple positions to a decent standard. Wouldn't be devastated to see him leave for a decent fee though. Probably needs to leave for himself.

Martial had a full stop after it. I was saying Martial was a successful Van Gaal signing.

The person I replied to said Herrera, Shaw and Rojo were all that was left of Van Gaal's signings so I just said they were only okayed by Van Gaal, although still technically his signings.

Always want to see him back in midfield but Jose seems to see him as a defender.
Even Van Gaal did the same... I wonder why though. His passing quality is good and He's more exposed playing as a defender because of the lack of pace/strength. Yet two managers played him as a defender all the time.

The Italian clubs expect everyone to give them players for free which is strange considering the astronomic fees asked for their own players. We're Manchester United not Oxfam.

Would have been good to shift someone who is not likely to get any game time even though I think he is a good player and a good professional

If he goes then CBJ as back up to Shaw or Shaw as back up to a new left back?
Young seems.first choice these.days with Shaw and Darmian backups. And Rojo if need be.

Anyway if Shaw isn't rated to be starter next season we definitely need a new firtlst choice competition.

Nonsense, he played for three seasons at left back for Ajax and won POTY for them playing there. When Van Gaal signed him he noted his versatility. He was never shoehorned anywhere.
He actually played right back for a while at Ajax at the start (that's where he played in his loan to Groningen). He's played CB too. He was moved to leftback from right back, and then moved to DM (which the fans had been wanting for about a season before De Boer caught on), and then played left wing back at the world cup before being bought by United

Deserves way more respect than this. Acted nothing but professional, had very good games, also won and played FA Cup and Europa League final for us.
I’m not disrespecting him, just calling a spade a spade.

Not saying he was useless for us or anything. Serviceable squad player who played his part when called upon but deadwood at this point for the club which we’re moving on from.

Blind should not leave before Darmian, he can still fill in at LB, CB and CDM. Matteo on the other side, I can't find a single use that keeps him at the club.

 I love Blind, as much as he doesn't have pace I think he is a lovely footballer with great passing range and is intelligent on the ball. I honestly think if the guy had pace he would be supreme. Glad he's staying as I honestly think Darmian should be going before him, I hope he gets some more games in the second half of the season. I wouldn't begrudge him moving in the summer though if his situation doesn't improve though.

And such hair

Edit: And I may have just tweeted him :D

Glad this looks to be off. Hes a good backup player to have. If we got rid of every player who isnt guaranteed games in the first team we'd struggle to rest players in cup games and against lesser teams if needed be.

Given our track record with injuries in defence, if hes happy here its definately worth keeping him than forcing him out

Honestly, after Martial's improvement and now we got Sanchez, I hope Mourinho is going to cut off his squad to 21 players. Basically 21 players of over 21 age. And 4 or more of teenagers (21 or under). Just not typical of Mourinho to have such a big squad and rotate them. Some players that we got are flexible with quality who can cover many positions as well like Sanchez, Mata, Rashford and etc. We shouldn't be worry too much on injuries.
Don’t know man, those full back positions and CM keep me awake at night. We either need to be very lucky with injuries/suspensions or the draws if we want to win something this year.

Oh well, he will be off in the summer, Roma likely wanted a silly cut price deal and we told them to hit the bricks.
