Who is stopping you have your own views? I am simply going along with what he is saying. Despite our failings a manager of his pedigree would never go to Everton. You can quote me on that. He is nearly 70, there isn't much of his career left to do anything with Everton, he could barely get Arsenal to 5th anymore.
Don't think he would go anywhere else in England unless it was a choice between that and retiring. Sounds like he has an offer from China at least, and I imagine some French/Spanish club would be willing to give him a go. I think a change of scenery may actually do him some good, rejuvenate him and give him a chance to freshen up his ideas a bit. He and Arsenal have stagnated together of late.

Pretty much I agree. I think he will take a break and will go abroad, China would be interesting as well. Or he can milk money as a pundit for French TV.

Congratulations Arsenal, Wenger is leaving you in a position where you are fecked in the arse for years. There's no money to fix it either, you guys are well and truly screwed.

They are in for a tough ride now! A season of juggling the EL with the Premier League at the same time as a new manager is trying to rebuild..

Signs Mkhitaryan, fans are boasting he's better than Sanchez, then Wenger benching him in the most important game of the season...

Another game in which Ozil goes missing. How the hell is he on 350k a week? And why do dole still rate him alongside KDB/Silva/Eriksen etc?

Love that Wenger spent all the summer money in January.

Ozil is the shits, man. Madness keeping ahold of him.

He needs a manager that kicks him in the arse, which is why I wanted him here. Jose got the best of him by doing just that.

Can't say Arsenal deserved anything from the game. They got what they deserved. No threat and only 1 shot from a defensive midfielder the whole game. Atletico got them exactly were they wanted and then started toying with them. It's just typical Arsenal.

Not good enough at all over the course of this tie and all season. It's a bigger rebuilding job then what we had to do after Fergie left

I’d like to see them get a Moyes/Van Gaal period now. I don’t think they will though.

Haven't been in the loop much, but why have they no money to spend in the summer? Has that been confirmed?

They are already in a Moyes/Van Gaal period and Wenger hasn't even left yet!
Agreed.

Would be a spectacular failure on the part of the new manager were Arsenal to fall even further though. Such is the disparity between the top six and the rest of the league, Arsenal finishing 6th should be the absolute minimum. They have enough quality to do that, but nothing more.

They have already spent a chunk on Aubameyang. The papers are reporting a £50m budget.

So that would be a net spend of £115m as their budget which is about right.

So they'll miss out on CL twice in a row.
Big deal, they are/were pointless in CL anyway, why would any Arsenal fan see top 4 without trophy better then being 5th with a cup. Tonight at least they didnt lose 10:2 in two CL knock out games and took a part in semi final in Europe, even if its EL.

Thought Wenger played Mkhitaryan in his best position tonight. Shows he's still got some tactical awareness about him.

SAF retires with a title, Wenger leaves Arsenal with no CL football secured.

More money, more appeal. Clubs like Arsenal need the Champions League at the very least for validation. They arent City, Chelsea or United. They're just another club without finishing 4th every year.

It is a weirdly better situation for them than when SAF left us.

The good thing for the next manager is that Wenger has reduced the expectations so much from the fanbase, even a decent cup run next year and a fight for top 4 would be seen as an improvement, unlike when SAF left.

Unless they are in an awful position, like languishing in the bottom half of the table, the new manager would be safe, at least from the fanbase.

Fergie left with the Premiership trophy. Wenger leaves with Claude calling him a twat. It's the way we all thought it would have ended back in 1998.

I feel bad for Wenger, I would have loved to see him win the trophy in his last game. The guy has really stuck to his principals, and he gave a very average club the best period in their history. All they achieve going forward is because of him, without him they would have been another Leeds, Aston Villa, Everton or Newcastle of the last 15 years. With some success comes eternal entitlement amongst the worst fans like Piers Morgan, I now hope they really start to rot.

I wouldn't say that. Arsenal are a well-supported club, they have some appeal.

Not sure why they put a picture of Ramsey but that shot on target was a long range effort too

We went out anyway everytime against Barca or Bayern.

Will be interesting to see how the team will change. Mustafi will be sold, Kos with a long injury at this age, Merte retired. Would be only 3 young CB's (Chambers, Holding, Mavropanos). Chambers was impressive today, Mavropanos had a good debut against United.

New Goalkeeper. Cech hopefully only Back-Up.

I feel like Goalkeeper is the most valuable position today unless you have Messi or Salah and you just have to get that one right. One shaky choice and your whole team is shaky. The top clubs should buy goalkeepers every summer until they have a top one.

If we used that method then De Gea would have been sold after the first season. It doesn’t work like that especially if you buy a young keeper.

Yeah that doesn‘t work with talents, but with experienced pros I believe. Pep got Bravo, was disappointed and went for Ederson just at the next opportunity. He was the most important new player for City this season. I feel like Arsene should have replaced Cech earlier and went for a top one or a big talent.

It's a better situation for the next manager in terms of expectations, it's not better for the club.
