I don't think that's true in my experience. Lewis has throughout his career gotten snides galore from the British press/pundits. You make it sound like he's their golden boy - far from out. Most of them give him grudging respect because they can't deny his talent. When Jenson and Nico (a German) were his team mates, they were more favourable of them, so sorry I respectfully disagree with your narrative.
Spot on. I also remember them being pretty honest about him being very lucky in Baku, think today it's more that he put in an excellent recovery drive to get into position where something like this could happen.

I didn’t say anything about him not having luck - but Vettel being unable to control his car with a spot of rain is somehow being blamed on Lewis’s luck?
Yes.

Just as when Lewis experiences car troubles or crashes out it comes down to Seb being lucky.

What channel do you watch? Sky can’t get enough of him.. these two in the commentary box have tissues at the ready. They fecking love him. They will never push the narrative that he has got a bit lucky, never.. in fact as I type this Martin Brundle has just called this a “brilliant comeback race”.. ummm nope, if things don’t go his way he’d still be 4/5 whatever.
Except he was gaining on the front three very quickly when Vettel crashed. 2nd was pretty likely before Vettel crashed.

No worries
Lewis got lucky, but he got himself into a position to be lucky. He held onto his tyres longer than anyone else and was still putting in competitive laps compared to the Ferraris, and imo he’s the best driver on the track in wet conditions. As opposed to Vettel who’s made a few big mistakes in wet weather.

You’d expect Lewis in the best car (or second best car, it’s open for debate) to make his way through the field.. that doesn’t prove anything in my opinion. To then get lucky with Seb fecking up is something that the media won’t point out.. instead they hail this as a stunning win.. bore off.

Bottas is a truly classy gentleman. Hope he wins one of the next races coming up.

Last week he got hit and his week he started 14th. Both races he’s managed to get a 2nd and a race win. It proves he has bad luck but also good luck. Coming from 14th to win no matter the car is a great achievement if you like it or not. Max, Bottas and Kimi were both ahead and still on the track when it finished. The media including Sky have mentioned Seb mistake helps Lewis several times too.
