One of the most complete performances I have seen in a long long time from a midfielder. Just wow.
He is, on the paper, the most complete midfielder in the history to me. Would he be consistent, he could reach the ballon d'or goal he talked about several years back. I've never seen a player with such abilities, but still, on the paper.

I've never seen a player this big, with this technical ability, shooting, heading, long/short passing, vista, even good defensively when he puts his mind at it. He has it all. Please Paul, keep on playing the way you do right now (but not against PSG^^).

Penicillin Pogba!

Majestic today, ran the show and was very good in the press as well, I just wish that one hadn't hit the post and he'd gotten the hat-trick. :D

Funny, I imagined he had barely misplaced a pass. But obviously when your passing is that ambitious, you can't complete them all.

The perfect midfield performance today. Fast becoming our leader on the pitch, you can see the players feel safe giving him the ball whenever they're in doubt.

He's just a ridiculous footballer. He could be the best in the world if he wants.

Jose not getting the best out of him is also equally ridiculous. Looks real bad on his part.

I really feel like he's going to carry this level of performance into the big games. When he's on song, he's almost effortlessly the best player in our team and one of the top midfielders in world football.

This is true. I always wonder how the gulf in quality between the three brothers can be so big when the genes shouldn't be so di-similar. Paul i think is the youngest one and yet he's the most outstanding and plays for one of the biggest clubs in the world
The genes in fact are great in that family to be able to produce three men who all play football at some sort of high level.

I always thought the tactics under the previous manager was what let Pogba down. Not necessarily his attitude.

Playing him a midfield two with Matic simply didn't work. It forced him to try and do too much and that's what went wrong.

Having Herrera and Matic there interchanging in terms of pressing and holding has changed all that. He was brilliant at Juve for that reason too. Not having to do everything. Pirlo and Vidal providing the other crucial components.
The tactics were definitely a big part of it. But it's clear as day to me that there's a whole other level of intensity he's playing with now. I think that it's either the fact that he didn't want to play for Mourinho any more, or that he just couldn't get himself motivated to play in a system he didn't enjoy, even if he didn't actively "down tools".

We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves though, it's just been a few matches with Ole. He has to show consistency during a longer period for us to have a better understanding of what he can be for us in a different system.

He plays the most ridiculous passes so consistently some of us don’t even notice when he does it now.

I just hope he still doesn't want to leave. It would be just like us to lose him right when he's enjoying himself again.
The man said several times he feels like a Mancunian. I know it almost means nothing nowadays but he doesn't worry when it comes to eventually losing him

Absolutely brilliant. What makes it work though is the brilliant leg work by Herrera in particular and the constant movement of the front 3
Spot on

He's the best player in the league at his best.
He's our player, our star, but that award should go to Hazard. At his best, only Messi is a lavel above him, this guy would have been insane under a coach like Pep. If Chelsea don't sack Sarri soon and give him time to build his team then we'll see a monster of player next season. Sky is the limit for these 2 players

I can't believe this is the same player as under Jose. He's playing with a lot more intensity and drive. Probably his best game since he came here. Let's just hope he can keep it up.

It's just unfortunate that some are most concerned with feeding their ego in this scenario instead of just enjoying the moment. It's all about being right. If you were not convinced with Pogba before, that must mean that you hate him and want him to fail. It's incredible how much your ego can get in the way of reasoning.
I’m not surprised at all and I’m not sure why anyone is. He was always this good. Just because we had a poor manger for a few years why would you wipe away all of a players history before thaf?

I think the system and tactics actually led to him trying to do too much. In a poorly functioning team that affected him more than most.

I am not worried about his consistency either. We have never consistently played him within such a system before. Under the previous manager we kept constantly changing things which was to our own detriment.

He has shown before what he can do at the highest level. But it can't just be him. Matic and Herrera will be key too.

I think Hazard's heart is already in Sunny Spain.

it's not even remotely the same level. One of his brothers play in my city in France, Tours, it's a barely professional level.

10/10 performance. He did everything!

He covered every blade of grass defending and attacking. Absolute quality.

He's a better player than KDB. Also did it in the WC final.

Madrid don't need a midfielder currently though. They need a forward.
I don't think relations between the clubs are the greatest either.

United would require a ridiculous fee which I don't think Real would be willing to pay. Madrid have largely stayed away from paying big fees over the last few years. Hazard with just a year left will be easier to prise away

But enough about that. Wrong thread for it.

It is apples and oranges, trying to figure out why and how different things are working for him right now. Almost every one is giving 120 percent, and is ready to run for lost causes. Its difficult to understand if Pogba can be this effective every week, cos its easier to say he can do what he does today, if rest of the team looks that vibrant. but its impossible to keep going back to figure out why it wasn't working out. cos when it wasn't working out, the problem was not just in pogba being effective. its the others who just gave up as well who knew what was going on. We became very cagey and it didn't help him. Now, the team is playing like its possessed and what not. if we go on from here to only have more of an identity in the final third, then his impact would only improve. Mind you, none of this matters, to any one when he doesn't move mountains in our next big game. but the way to fix the Pogba problem starts not just about whether he is 10/10 in biggest games, but from understanding how to use him, every single game. so, we are dealing with it, as best as we can.

Ha okay at least two brothers played at high levels. I don’t personally know anyone who could manage to even play for Tours so that’s high enough levels for for a commoner like me. Genes can only help you that much. A lot depends on your intelligence and application.

He'll stay at Chelsea, if he doesn't then Roman is not interrested in Chelsea anymore (the same way the Monaco's owner let them down).

I think Madrid were interrested but got quoted an insane fee and back tracked because they can't afford it, football is changing and Madrid don't have the advantages they had before because new players don't give a feck about the prestige of clubs (Neymar left Barca for PSG ffs) they are only interrested in money.

Hazard has one year on his contract. Completely different to Pogba.
Players have the power mate. If pogba fancies a move to Madrid or Barca and there’s a mammoth bid on the table and he wants out then he’s gone. This is the same pogba who’s agent was touting him out to other clubs including city (alledegedly) then I don’t think he is the die hard united fan we want him to be. I hope this isn’t the case but I don’t think you will be seeing a pogba testimonial, let’s put it that way.

In my experience as a big brother, an athlete, and a coach, that's normally the case. The youngest gets good because he has to grow up trying to beat his big brothers. Very few times have I seen it where an older brother winds up the better of the two.

Don’t count your chickens because you might find pogbas are come the summer.
Madrid wouldn't pay the price we'd want for Pogba anyway. No chance of him leaving any time soon, besides Madrid don't need a midfielder they need attackers.
