I've only just realised runners are outlawed these days.
Yeah it's shite in a game where you can't sub players out of the batting line up. I think you should be able to sub players out of the batting line up if you can prove they are injured though.

On KP I think that the Old School Tie brigade hold England back as a cricketing nation. He was by far our best player at the time he should have been who we built the team around rather than letting a few players force him out of the team.

What's most annoying about it is that people fail to realise this is a change in the playing conditions in international cricket rather than a change in the laws.

I've seen teams refuse runners in shit tier village cricket because they think they're not allowed.

I think KP did a good job of forcing himself out of the team. Got no sympathy for the bloke. Great player but did himself no favours.

So you're okay with certain players being able to look down on other players because they come from money and the other player hasn't.

Nadeem: "Correct me if I am wrong that Thomas has played 13 innings and has yet to score a single run? " --- That is in fact, correct. Oshane Thomas matched his career-best today, with 0*

We've just got to keep the cuts and hooks down here. Don't get suckered into going the aerial route like Gayle did.

England should try chasing this down in 30 overs just in case NRR becomes relevant later on.

Sheldon Cottrell looks like an interesting character. Imagine he's got some chat out in the field.

Couple of lovely shots from Bairstow & then Root. England should comfortably chase this.

Still early but always felt West Indies were severely over rated as even a dark horse. Don't think they have it in the them just yet to get close to winning the competition. Might still be wrong but they're still a little inexperienced and chopping and changing their team every year doesn't help.

Just switched off the TV. This is just a slow painful crawl to the end. No point in watching this.

We never were a dark horse. I have no idea who’s been pushing this, but pretty much everyone I know despairs at how bad we are currently, and had no expectations coming into this World Cup. It’s a fun journey but I didn’t and still don’t expect anything.

I was more referring to his slagging off of his team mates behind their backs. How are you meant to play in a team when you do that? Can’t imagine anyone in a football team accepting someone back on after that.

They slagged him and others off to their faces because they didn't fit to a certain class system. What do you expect him to do? I wouldn't sit there and take it. Especially if I was better than they were.

Don’t think there was really any need for him to be playing a shot like that when we’ve been under no pressure to score at all

It's silly from Bairstow.

We should still win but he knows we're missing two senior batsmen and there was no need to force the shot there.

Not sure I'd have Moeen opening.

He's in horrible form with the bat. Can't imagine him dealing well with a new ball barrage of short deliveries.

Depends, I see what Nasser is saying and Afghanistan won't be the game where there will be a whole load of short balls. He does need to get in nick and it might be the right game for him.
