Our last club captain hardly played this season.. hopefully the same will happen to Young next season?
Dont think Ole will survive past Christmas with all honesty.Ole is doing his best to changing my stance on him.
The last two are laughable, both past it wingers and adequate full backs, who both forgot how to cross a ball. Valencia who barely spoke in English as captain of an English PL side. Young who every time he does something wrong blames the person stood nearest to him. Then we wonder why this team is not motivated.Bryan Robson
Eric Cantona
Roy Keane
Gary Neville
Nemanja Vidic
Wayne Rooney
Antonio Valencia
Ashley Young
Club is on the road to nowhere.
LVG's last season with Rooney I think. "My captain shall always play".What was the last season United had a nailed on starter as captain?
Rooney 15/16 season. Not as if he deserved it. But "my captain shall always play. What was the last season United had a nailed on starter as captain?
Thought it was. Not sure any other club has ever had a scenario like that, especially for so long and with multiple players. Very odd. Young doesn't even strike me as a leader. All I ever see him do is hit his hands together.LVG's last season with Rooney I think. "My captain shall always play".
Like, I don't know. Anyone else apart from the one that 99% of fans are sick seeing on the pitch?Oh stop being so dramatic, Young is one of the senior most members of the squad, who would you like it to have gone to?
It’s a ceremonial appointment FFS, don’t read too much into it
Mason Greenwood for the armband!Like, I don't know. Anyone else apart from the one that 99% of fans are sick seeing on the pitch?
I heard it was rock, paper, scissors between Young, Rojo and SanchezHow have we kept around a player that even in his actual position in his peak was never good enough for us? For 9 fecking years?
And not only that we've made him captain!
To be fair Gary Neville's been pretty solid too.I hope that he is watching Beckham today. That is called "a cross"
'supporters' who have never even been Manchester.I read he was given stick for congratulating Aston Villa on their promotion. United has such a toxic following. Young needs to be shipped off, but the treatment he's getting by so called supporters on social media is embarrassing.
Ok, Young was terrible last season, but prior to that, I think he was a serviceable part of the team (the definition of squad player, if you will.) As well, he's always struck me as a great ambassador for the club, and not in a cringey way like Lingard. That being said, I can't understand why he would be our captain moving forward.I read he was given stick for congratulating Aston Villa on their promotion. United has such a toxic following. Young needs to be shipped off, but the treatment he's getting by so called supporters on social media is embarrassing.
Yep, that's obviously the situation at the moment. We don't have a proper leader, so Young gets it until one of the new guys proves themselves (both to the manager and to his teammates) suitable.I guess in a team with no stand out leaders, you might as well give it to the oldest guy whose been with the club the longest, same way Valencia this season.
Let him hold on to it until a real leader emerges, either through the current squad or through purchases.
To be fair, whatever he threw didn't go far. Hit the first man.Anyone else heard a rumour he kicked off in the dressing room over something before the end of the season? Throwing things about having a tantrum?
See I heard he overthrew it and it missed whoever he was aiming at by miles. To be fair, whatever he threw didn't go far. Hit the first man.
That's Bebe you're talking about.See I heard he overthrew it and it missed whoever he was aiming at by miles.
