Apparently this is the correct scenario:

"If Pakistan make 350, they need to bowl Bangladesh out for 38
If Pakistan score 400, they need to bowl Bangladesh out for 84
If Bangladesh bat first, there is no chance of Pakistan qualifying"
What if Pakistan make 700?

This is why I said that Pak should have done better against Afghanistan. NZ actually lost by a decent margin today if they had beaten Afghan by a good margin they would have an outside shot at least making it on NRR.
Afghanistan win would have hardly made a difference since they were chasing. The Windies loss was bad. Anyway, Shoaib Malik is currently hitting a metallic ball with weights on his arms (kinda like how Rio described Cr7 training with ankle weights), come Friday Malik will be coming out to open and score 260 from 95 balls propelling Pakistan to a 550 score. Bangladesh will get out for 34.

Well congratulations to England. @Djemba-Djemba , @Fully Fledged I do apologize for going a little overboard with the English team dislike. They're a good side -- I really dislike Morgan though. However, I still maintain it does the sport no good not having reserve days

Uhm, there is something that's not adding up. Pak's NRR is -.792 Which means cumulative RR is -0.792*8=-6.336
For NZ, they finish with a cumulative NRR of 0.175*9=1.575
Which means Pak needs to cover a Run rate of 7.911
This is equivalent to a win by 396 runs
If Pak bowl second, and Bangladesh score 100, they'll need to win by scoring at a RR of 9.911 which means get the target in slightly less than 10 overs
That's not how the NRR is calculated. You're multiplying by number of games. You need to divide total runs in the tournament by total effective overs both while scoring and conceding.

But that should come out to be equal no?
Runs scored-Runs Conceded after scaling to 50 overs=NRR for one game
If you multiply this by number of games, the difference in RR should come out to be cumulative difference of runs scored and runs conceded. Unless rain affected games have some different calculation?

Nope.

Let's say X played Y in three 10 over games.

1
X: 50 runs in 10 overs
Y: 20 all out

2
X: 40 runs in 10 overs
Y: 30 all out

3
Y: 40 runs in 10 overs
X: 45 in 5 overs.

According to you, X's NRR would be (5+4+9)/3 - (2+3+4)/3 = 3

But it's actually (135/25 - 90/30) = 2.4

Don't think SA can beat Australia so it's Eng vs Ind at Edgebaston and Aus face NZ.

Cracking games.

world record score would be 482. They'd need to bowl out Bangladesh for <160

Lords hardly has many 300 + scores from what I know. Anyway this will be a funny game. I really hope Pakistan go for it just to see how ridiculous it can get.
If they did do it - greatest feat in cricket history lulz

Can anyone imagine the scenes of Sarfraz wins the toss and chooses to bowl first?

You get me wrong. I enjoy recounting English cricketing failures almost as much as celebrating their infrequent successes. One of my favourite cricketing memories is Brathwaite becoming a legend while denying us the 20/20.

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)
I’m just about over Kohli winning the toss and bowling first against Pakistan in the 2017 CT final. India have cruised to the semi with practically no middle order, imagine if the selectors and management were competent.

England have been fortunate winning the far too important toss in must win games. Chasing in the semis and final with a good score on the board will be too difficult for any of these sides, unless Kohli is saving a 170* chasing 350 in the final

Been offered tickets to the semi next Thursday, just got to find out how much they want to see if I can justify it. Edgbaston though it’ll feel like an away game probably

Was talking about the WC not outside of it.

"England havent lost because of pitches, they've lost in the games they have because they have been shite." When its not a flat pitch, England are shite or didn't "apply themselves" but otherwise its Ok.

Just laughing at your excuses for loosing on pitches which aren't flat.
Ah yes, lets forget outside of the WC because your theory doesn't apply:rolleyes:

What I was saying was England should not be blaming the pitch but their performance. Not making excuses, think the shite comment should have made that obvious. But you clearly have an agenda with England and that they are only successful on flat pitches so you just stick to that.

I'm really excited for Pakistan vs Bangladesh now. Think about it

1) The toss will be very anticipated. Bangla win the toss then the tension, will they kill of pak or will they have a bowl first?

2) What if Sarfraz wins the toss and bowls first. Drama.

3) Sarfraz wins the toss and choses to bat first, this can go a few ways

Either
4) Batsmen go crazy hitting every ball out of the park. Unprecedented innings of 450 runs.

Or
5) Pakistan get all out for 12

You're never gong to see an international side play a more ridiculous innings
