I don't think she has a point at all. She was making a lazy stereotype about her opponents or a political statement. One would be interpreted as disrespectful and the other is against the rules I believe.I think Morgan has a point
but isn't making a like for like comparison.
The hopefully-triumphant Dutch should take the piss out of America's cultural heritage & see how they get on.
Just seems a poor deflection tactic on her part. I do think that the noise around this now outweighs the actual incident but I feel it just adds to the perception that the US side lack class and don't respect their opponents. To me their attitude seems really small time when you consider how they've had a free at the women's game for so long to get themselves to a position of dominance. Their experience and resources vastly outweigh all the teams there so to me they just come across as schoolyard bullies in the way they act.
On your second point, rest assured if the boot was on the other foot and America perceived a slight you just know that the outrage would be tenfold on their part.
