I wonder what knock on affect for the Ashes this will have. Can't decide if it'll be a good thing, or might make us take our eye off the ball.
Tests are a completely different ball game, there will be loads of different players coming in. Personally i don't see it having too much of an impact.

Being from the same background, really proud to see guys like Moeen and Rashid in the team and play big roles too. Just hope some of our lot can start breaking into football too someday, hopefully in my lifetime.
Easah Suliman won the u19 Euros with England recently. He has loads of youth caps with England and captained the side too. He’s not been very good at senior level so far though.

Again, I accpect the timing of the post was poor. However, Archer was relevant compared to the others as his case was so high profile recently and he had just bowled the final over to win the WC.

I don't accept that it was my subconscious talking. The reason for this? I know how I've felt about players like KP playing for England in the past. I've been consisent with my feelings on the topic.

Thanks for the discourse.
Cool, fine. Let's draw a line under it and move on. If you say you did I'll believe you. You can perhaps see however why your singling him out and particularly the line' I'm an England fan, and probably in a minority of one right now. But it really turns me off when I see archer playing for England. The lad was born and bread in the West Inidies' got the response it did. Even if it did come from a purely genuine place, and I can accept that there are questions about the ECB changing their rules, it's a poor choice of words and wouldn't look out of place on a Daily Mail comment section!

Look if that dopey New Zealand fielder didn’t throw the ball onto Stokes’s bat and got it to his wicket keeper instead we wouldn’t be having this meltdown now. New Zealand only have themselves to blame.
Funny thing is, I think his throw was perfectly on target:lol:

I'm crap at preditctions, but I do rate the Aussie bowlers highly. Their batmans agasint Anderson and Broad? not so much. I find it a really tough series to call.

Hard to believe we've been unbeaten against Aussies at home since 2001. We used to get battered every time when I was growing up.

 brilliant play from stokes. I wish I could say he meant it because the saltiness would be much more fun
He needed eyes in the back of his head

It is pretty tough, but the Aussies have Warner and Smith back so their batting will be bolstered.

Why so bitter Indian fans? Is it because we have two players of Pakistani heritage playing for us?

Some of the venom spewed by some on here towards my country is actually baffling. We won the world cup and it's great seeing you pricks cry over it.

Ah that's good to see, slowly but surely.

Hamza Choudhury of Leicester City and England U21s is also British Bangladeshi.

Why is it difficult for you grasp that you didn't deserve to win.

Forget cricket finals. This was one of the best cricket game to have been played. Fantastic spectacle that was.
The drama was too much in this one, i think this was the best.
Yeah this will go down as the greatest and that's fair enough but personally find it a bit anticlimax that it was decided on boundaries of all things. More boundaries also most likely means more dot balls which means the tiebreaker is basically rewarding the less proactive team.

Did it count as a boundary for our win? Not that it mattered since we had so many of them.
Yeah 6 runs from it. Otherwise would have been two, or one if Stokes got run out.

The Ashes these days switches hands on whoever hosts. The Aussie batsmen struggle against the moving ball in overcast conditions over here, the English batsmen struggle against the bounce on rock hard pitches over there. The Aussie bowlers struggle on pitches where raw speed isn't enough, the English bowlers struggle on pitches where a lack of pace makes them toothless.

They can be, they choose not to be. Islam only prohibits them from drinking.
But still, you'd think they could think about it and provide some non-alcoholic stuff for spraying around. Hardly a unique situation given the demographics of the tournament.

For Stokes’s bat
No seriously, it was on target!

Anyhow, congratulations to England, fully deserved on the whole. You've consistently played the brand of cricket that befits the ODI format and I hope you continue to do so.

Respect for NZ but they lacked a superstar like Stokes to turn games.

From an Indian POV, we had the tools to play a far better brand of cricket too. I really hope there's a rethink on that, and it's possible given the talent coming through.

Football season can't start soon enough

Yeah England will be favourites, the home team in test cricket normally are. I was just pointing out their batting will be a bit stronger with those two back.

At the end of the day we got massively lucky but that can happen if you find yourself in a close situation in sport. NZ had chances to be more positive at the end of their innings and potentially none of this happens. They didn’t deserve to lose but it goes like that sometimes.
Stokes made his own luck with that dive! Tremendous effort.

Also, I think englands multiculturalism should be applauded. It's been one of the most welcoming nation till recent times which is what won them the world cup. Fair play.

It was a poor choice of words, worse still, bad timing, but there was no ill intent.

I'll be more careful with my wording in the future, as I never want to be confused with the DailyMail comment section again!

Starc's looked in ominous form this world cup. If he can translate it to the red ball Australia have a great chance.
