They couldn't deal with him.
He doesn't look a sulky figure, I can't see him going anywhere.

There was one moment in the second half when Perisic (?) was making run from LW, he sprinted back to cover the space. Man in possession was fouled though but it was pleasing to watch him work off the ball to cover the space.

Very good game, toyed with their midfield.

In the words of Rio, “taking absolute liberties there” that was a mental bit of skill. Been impressed with what he has been doing so far and the positions he’s taking up. Still a little concerned if say he and Matic are the 2 but I guess with Shaw and Wan you could use them to help protect Matic till a replacement is found.

Need to get some quality around him. We can't waste his prime years coming up.

I have always thought that a Pogba who would commit to playing a deeper midfield role while still having some attacking freedom has a higher potential level than free roaming Pogba in some bastardized midfield/attack role. All of his managers(at both club and international level) trying to get him to play deeper show this is hardly a new thought.

Played higher up today and more often than not left it to Matic to collect from the back four. If we're going to do that, then we need someone who can play quicker and has a better passing range.

Thought Pogba was awesome, though.

Pobga is world class. Water is wet.

The are going to be a lot of fans with egg on their faces when he leaves next season. It will be extremely difficult to replace him

Needs a new haircut. Seems too professional and focused on football and there is just nothing to be outraged about here.

Oh, except for his outrageous dribbling:devil:

The problem with that skill is in the league he loses the ball and gets absolutely lambasted for it, as happened last season. You cant win with Pogba - he's capable of magic, but if he tries and fails it's more costly as he's a midfielder.

We really need him to be a part of a great team while he’s here, and not when he’s 30 (if we can keep him), but immediately. He’s such a special player, you want the fact that you have him to be maximised. It’s not ideal he enters his prime in a side where the midfielder next to him is past it, the forwards ahead of him are a few years away and the rest are not top bracket.

I want real competition between at least 3 outfield players as to who our best player is. That’s what they have at City and Liverpool and it shows. I’m a big Pogba defender on here, but it gives me no pleasure to point out that he’s so far better than his teammates tbh. That said, looking at AWB, there is some hope that he could be as good a RB as Pogba is a midfielder, so that’s something - but we could desperately do with at least one forward player in the argument too.

Well what springs to mind when you think of a Rolls Royce?

Rio got his 'Roll Royce' cognomen during his Leeds days. It stuck with him throughout his career.

But it was first used about another former Leeds player. It basically means somebody who is top class at everything (class being the operative word, since Rollers are supposedly classy).

Pogba is certainly top class at certain things. But one piece of skill doesn't make him a Rolls Royce of a player.

Pogba is definitely a player you could define as a Rolls Royce.

Unfortunately I think this season will be similar to last for him as our other midfielders and all of our front line just really isn't up to the standard.

So gutted that we have such a talent and we are wasting it by throwing so much dross around him because we are woeful with player/manager recruitment.

Why? We're talking about the term 'Rolls Royce' as defined about a midfielder playing for Leeds in the sixties and seventies.
Maybe because there's no such thing as a complete midfielder in the modern game? If there we're, Pogba is about as close as you'll get.

You can't just change the definition of the term 'Rolls Royce' to fit somebody who doesn't suit it. Come up with a different term, by all means.

There are no sweepers in the modern game either. That doesn't make Pogba one.
