Seeing Juve essentially tell the whole world that a player of Dybalas quality is surplus to requirements whilst we insist on starting Lingard makes me wonder if someone very powerful is taking the piss out of us. Imagine what the Juve board would do with Lingard, he'd have a new arsehole torn.

Bayern. Juve. Barca. Madrid. City. Liverpool. PSG. Arsenal. Dortmund. Inter. He wouldn't make their benches.

Beating a dead horse here but he's frankly not good enough on the bench for a team with top 5 aspirations. The fact that he's a starter speaks volumes of the ambitions of the board.

Have you seen who is in Liverpool’s midfield never mind their bench?

The only positive is that he actually got whipped before 60 mins, hopefully the penny has dropped for Ole. We're in serious trouble if not.

Jesse's head has gone. Looks a shadow of the player who made the Emirates his dancefloor earlier this year. God knows what's going on between his ears. I just hope it gets sorted cos we need someone at #10 who is scoring goals and making a difference. This time last year Jesse was coming off the back of a World Cup in which people were asking if he was better than Dele Alli. Amazing to see him fall so far so fast.

Tbf he doesn’t deserve that. It’s not his fault the club have no ambition and the manager has no clue. It’s not his fault the club paid him 100k pw to keep him when he should have probably been palmed off to a club like Norwich.

He’s just not good enough but it’s the people above him who make the decisions.

I’m starting to think he’s Beckhaming it and is more interested in becoming a social media star than an actual footballer.
He never had any talent to begin with. I find this obsession with thinking that academy players are way better than they actually are a bit strange.

For once I actually thought his movement in the first half was decent and there was one moment of pressing that he started and covered a lot of ground which eventually led to a mistake elsewhere.

Then there was the two really bad miscontrols and poor passing. Best thing was he tries to take a ball on the turn and it gets away from him and he starts shouting at Rashford like it was meant for him and he was pissed Rashford hadn’t anticipated Jesse’s brilliance in disguising a pass as a miss control. There was also the other one in the box where he made Lukaku look like Zidane.

Haha! That’s the perfect ball for a number 10 to receive, would love to see what Angel’s silky touch would’ve done with that.

Jesse aint the only problem, but he’s a big one.
Exactly what I thought when I saw that pass player to him. It was a dream that he turned into a nightmare. I am sick of seeing him start games, he offers nothing.

He's gone backwards. Its almost as if he stopped focusing on his football.

Does he have much going on outside of football that might be a distraction

The one positive out of today is that that is the end of him. At least i hope so.

He wasn’t good at the World Cup.

This is a myth. Besides Panama, England’s attack was poor throughout the tournament and their defence basically got them to the semis. Lingard was part of the reason attack looked so poor.

He’s average player who we given a career to. The next Cleverley.

Need a gif of his pressing. 19'min, some tenacious pressing that made them have to pass it back to their keeper

Let me tell you what's the worst part of seeing him play.

He receives the ball close toe the opposition box and then passes the ball right back to where it came from. He does this even when he is under no pressure or is a flick away from turning his man and going through.

He does this every game and it's ridiculous. Want to eat my hair out Everytime I see his name on the team sheet.

Even if Ole is playing him solely for his engine and pressing, where's the logic in playing him against a side that's not interested in having the ball in their possession - hence no need for us to press?

He was never good enough for UTD, nor will he ever be. But then again I'm holding our current players to the standard of their predecessors I grew up watching, which might as well be my undoing.

He might as well be the quality for current UTD...

He does nothing, and he's not going to get better all of a sudden. I'd rather just give those minutes to Gomes. Or push Pogba forwards and put Matic or Fred in there, if Fred's 3 months long wedding is over yet.
