We could get rid of Welbeck or even Cleverley, why can't we end this banter wank and simply call Inter, we have another cracking player for them.

He is still an excellent player, he should be in his prime but has suffered since the world cup. He was one of the best England players in that competition. We need him back.
Which World Cup - Italia '90?

You don't get 24 International caps on the strength of one months football, so yes it is.
This is Lingard's only defence that stops people questioning his incredibly low level of ability. He's a passenger that has a semi decent shot, can play an easy pass and cover a lot of ground, adding to the fact that he plays for Man Utd after being the luckiest man available to make into the first team from the academy in a position the first team has been starved of. Cleverley got 13 caps for England because of almost the exact same reasons, now we know he shouldn't have been anywhere near it, it's the same with Lingard.

Mourinho played him alot.
That was then and this is now.

He used to be a useful squad player who worked hard and followed the manager's instructions.

He's been awful for the last few months though. I dare say the apparent absence of clear instructions from the coaches to our attackers isn't helping him.

Gif of Lingard moved to space in the middle penalty box that Rashford already covered in extra injury time? Lingard really should have gone for a far post, that was a great chance from James, he missed the opportunity.

Is that the last minute chance?

Yes Sir. Cheers.
This is crazy again, Lingard is too scared to control it and play AWB with a return pass. He chose the most pointless option
He was trying to flick it to Mata, who would have returned it to AWB and launch a 3 on 1 with their defenders out of position. What is infuriating is that other players have also tried things like that, only to mess it up and break down counter attacks, making us look disjointed and clueless.

Would they fall for it a third time?:nervous:
It'll be attractive offer, their favourite loan with option to buy and emergency call up to United in December for possible fixture against Arsenal. We'll throw additional sponsorhip deal with JLingz brand, so they can have it on their shirts forever.

You're giving him way too much credit here. Lingard is a player who refuse to make a simple pass to forward who makes a run, I don't see him attempting to find Mata there. Not intelligent enough as a footballer for that

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that run of his. But since then, he’s been deplorable.

He's a really bizarre lad. Made this ultra hilarious reference to Sugar Puffs once (no idea why but hey) and I think we should all refer to him as Sugar Puffs from now on. Seems apt, too.
I'm convinced he's a wum. You go into any thread and he's always making the contrary argument with just bizarre comments.

Another pointless thing he does, which beggars belief, is the consistency in which he runs up to team mates with the ball, only to release it to them when he’s literally two feet away from them. Garner, who I thought had just an OK game (starting debut), fired several passes past opposition players and into feet, and I thought, wow, so that’s how it’s supposed to be done...

He's not a bad player, all said and done. Sure his off field social media antics...
In his case the two are linked since the latter are often centered around him trumpeting that he's made it/a big deal/superstar and/or actively projecting an unprofessional image.

It's what a lot of the Giggs-Rooney-off-the-field-problems-were-light-years-worse defenses miss out on (not saying that's what you're doing).

Behind the curtains, leering at the neighbors
Its certainly not all on him.

But it is because of having several players like him and picking them.

Lingard, Mata, Rojo, Matic - players who have now shown for years they cant perform to a decent level. And then we have Fred who has joined them. He's had a little less time but nothing suggests he's going to break out of that company any time soon. So he looks another lost cause
This. Our midfield options outside of Pogba and McTomminay are utterly dire. I remember we used to complain back in the days about having Carrick, Fletcher, Scholes and Anderson as CM options but this is a whole other story

The fact that he continues to start games is a clear indicator of how far our standards have fallen.

It's a surprise if he does anything dangerous or productive, whereas at United it should be an expectation that your front 3 or 4 will worry the opposition. Truly saddens me.

You can also notice the same issues in Rashford and no doubt James will join the list soon, no tactical discipline whatsoever and some of this daftness suggests they have been hyped up beyond their capabilities.

I wonder what’s going through AWB head in that moment he sprints forward after that amazing bit of skill and see’s Lingard do that.

his just signed from Palace this summer and this Jesse Lingard has been playing at Manchester United as a first teamed for multiple years. His played with Rooney,Pogba & Zlatan and that’s the kind of shit her serves up. Not good enough, and embarrassing for new players and potential new players to look at.

Indeed. Rashford gets a lot of stick on here for being selfish and “brainless” in his play; surely issues that could be addressed if he were part of a more structured set-up that wasn’t dependent on moments of individual brilliance. James has presumably benefited from that at Swansea under Potter and I won’t be surprised if his effectiveness drops off at United. It’s a good job he seems to have the mental fortitude to keep trying.

I don’t think Lingard has ever been hyped up really. Managers have liked him for the reasons I mentioned rather than for any particular brilliance on his part. He’s always been hated (no that isn’t too strong a word) by a small number on here; what I find annoying is that they’ve been joined by the “always said he was crap” brigade that invariably forms whenever a player loses form.

None of this changes the fact that Lingard has been really terrible for months now. A bit of perspective is needed though.

I am sick of seeing players like him in the team week in week out. I am tired of having a go at the likes of him, Rojo and co. They shouldn't be here. Why are they here? Most times, I don't even care about this team but when I see gifs like these, I start fuming all over again.
This club anf players are killing me.

Not hype from the fans but from the manager himself instead of telling them to cut the shit out he is overindulging them and this is hurting Rashford in particular. I don't think any other manager would tolerate Rashford playing with his head down and ruining offensive moves by taking shots from ridiculous angles or the amount of times Lingard loses possession due to poor touches and things like that.
